60GB working PS3 @ Pawn Shop?

CAGiversary!
I was at a new pawn shop in my area today looking for speakers for my stereo @ work. While browsing, I noticed a PS3 box tucked back behind the counter. I asked the guy how much he wanted for it, he said $425.00, so I asked which model it was. He said it was the 60GB and proceeded to hook it up to a display for me to see that it did indeed work. After talking to the guy for a few minutes, I wheeled and dealed my way down to $360 bucks. The bundle is just the regular AV cable, power cord, one controller and a USB charging cable thing.

Now I want backwards compatibility and I know the new cheaper 40GB model will not have it, this one will, So my question is : Is $360 bucks worth it for a pretty good shape 60gb PS3? He is only holding it for me until tomorrow night. (Saturday)

Ill need to buy new component cables but that isn't a big deal.

Can you make sure it works and isn't stolen before you buy it? $360 is a good deal if you want a PS3 if those 2 things are ok.

depends. I regret buying my ps3 at 500 cause there were no games. To this day I still have not bought a single game. I thought blu-ray would tide me over but Parmount and dreamworks screwed us big time. Thinking back on it, I would have waited until a major title like devil may cry or metal gear came out then buy it at a reduced price. my advice is to wait for devil may cry as that's coming out first. there will be 60 gb's left and maybe they'll be on clearance for 400. I'd pay 4o bucks more for a new ps3. you don't know the condition of that used ps3 you are buying. It may have been on for 3 days straight and it might die on you a month into it. you won't have the reciept and you'll be screwed.

The PS3 can handle being on for 3 days straight. ;) You're thinking of the 360.

It's funny... laugh.

3 days straight is likely to be nothing to the PS3. Read the article about the PS3 stress test where they ran it in a Sauna, Froze it, and I forget what other things they did, and it came out running fine at the end.

Don't buy component cables, get HDMI silly. Assuming your TV supports HDMI of course. And yes but it.
can you part with the 360? if yes then yes, if no, well then... no
WTH does that have to do with anything?

They hold them for 30 days and I believe if the serial number was reported stolen it wouldn't have made it to the floor.
Cause he said he will have to pay $360.
Once again, WTH does that have to do with anything?

Think what hes trying to say is the person was asking if he can part with the $360 not 360 the system.

id doit, but if u have enough money for everything else in your life!
i agree with jennie25, if u can and wont have a huge hole in your wallet, JUMp ALL OVER THIS! i got my ps3 for $350 from a friend. PS3 is very reliable, so u wont get RROD stuff here.
