Gangs of New York

Man, you guys that live near a Frys are lucky as hell. So many good deals I've missed because I've never even seen a Frys, let alone be close enough to go in and browse.
Memento, Kill Bill 1 and 2, and Sin City and $8 each?! Damn...
And I guess Gangs of New York, though from what I have read, the transfer was atrocious and it is a Blu Ray that is not worth owning.

Target has them and more for 7.99. A list of 30 or more to pick from. If you look at best buy online they have a big list to.

Gangs of New York has a new remastered Blu-ray that got good reviews. The old one you're referring to was phased out a while back.

Well that's good to know. I'll have to look up the differences between the two so I know how to spot the good one. I recently was at a store and almost bought the first release of The Fifth Element. Man would that have been a mistake.

Yikes! That would have been bad. I'm surprised they still had that copy!

Here are are a couple reviews of the new BD:

You can easily spot the new cover with its inset art and gold borders.

I have seen several different stores still with the first run of The Fifth Element, stores like Walmart and stuff, so that is why I would not be surprised to find a horrible version of Gangs of New York.
