Why settle for the 80GB when it's the same price with the 120GB? Not to mention that not a lot retail store still carry the 80GB brand new.

i heard that because the 120gb is now a new slim style it might have some of the problems the first 80gb had but now because the 80gb has been around for a while and sony has fixed its early problems the 80gb is a better option, plus 80gb isnt "settling"
How about the 160GB Uncharted Bundle? $320 at Newegg.
ill look in2 that but im not sure if i will actually need all that space, isnt 80GB enough?1?

Considering they don't make the 80GB anymore, it will be hard to find a new one and if you do how will you know if it isn't one with the "early problems" that you talk about? The PS3 slim is the way to go. No need to waste time looking for an older model.

ohh i didnt know that, not trying to poke a hole n what u have to say but unless i buy alot of ps1 classics on2 it from the store will i even need all that space?!?

The store is used for a lot more that buying PSone games. There are brand new games released every week, add-on content for disc based games, movies, demos, etc.

It's pretty easy to use up the space-- but it's also really easy to get a bigger harddrive and upgrade.

Everyone above is right- go for the slim. It's a nice piece of hardware. The only reason to get one of the older model PS3s is for the PS2 BC on the original set of systems. Even then- it's cheaper to just buy a PS3 and a PS2.

120GB = $299
250GB = $350

You can upgrade the hard drive anytime as you want, but the 250GB hard drive alone is around $60-80. For the long run, go with the 250GB Slim

In all honesty you will probably be paying more for an 80GB since it has PS2 backwards compatibility than you will for a new 120GB slim. Your hard drive might or might not fill up but I wouldn't go seeking a smaller one just because you don't think you will need it. Everyone can ALWAYS use more space. Put your photos/mp3/videos on it. You don't have to use it for just gaming.

I got a 500GB HD for my ps3 a few months ago for 75 shipped. They aren't that bad anymore.

well i already have a ps2 and have just been playing some classics on it that r good like P4, or ratchet and clank, R&C going commando, stuff like that, but thx i did not know that there were new games released on there like smaller games im assuming, im assuming DLC is common for the bigger franchised titles on the ps3
