Cool, thanks for that deal.

Good deal, bought them for the same price a couple months ago after rebate from Newegg. The rebate takes a little while to come, but it did actually arrive. I have had no problem with these disks, and for anyone who wants to know, they play movies fine in a PS2.

Ridata has always provided good blank DVD media. I would jump on this but I have several packs of TDK's sitting here. Good find OP.

Is there something special about these disks that allow them to play in a PS2? All my movies right now are burned on Memorex disks and they play fine in my DVD player but are a no go in either the Xbox or PS2.

I don't know, it may just be something with different brands that determines whether they play in a PS2 or not. I know Memorex is a good quality brand, so its odd that they don't play. I have had success playing burned disks in a PS2 with Imation and Ritek/Ridata.

Ritek and Taiyo Yuden are the two best blank cd/dvd manufacturers there are.

Here's a deal on some TY's.

$100 Taiyo Yuden TYG02's for $26.99 shipped, use coupon TYOFF

Site says 4x TYG01, but people are recieving 8x TYG02's. Either way, its quality media, the 4x will burn at 8x anyway if your drive supports it. Same price as the Ritek's, but no rebate to deal with.

Ritek has slipped lately though, their newer media isn't as good as it used to be.
My local best buy had stacks of 50 dvd+r for $7.99. They are dynex, but so far out of 20 Ive used I havent gotten one coaster.
Dynex's are Ritek R03's. Good deal if your local Bestbuy has any left.

I just got these DVD today, and something is strange about them. I tried 2 on my NEC ND-3500A burner and they both only max at 4x. What's strange is that the Ridata 4x DVD+R that I bought sometime ago can be burn at 8x with the same burner.

The Taiyo Yudens from the other site that I ordered are 8x, TYG02's. Authentic.

If you're having problems with those Ritek's, return them and order these. These are better anyway, as long as you don't need +R.

I think I will order the Taiyo Yudens and see how they are. And they also offer "TTG 4X DVD-R 01-DRSG101-F" 100 for only 12.99, anyone had any experience with those??

That would be "the house brand". They're awful, its assorted brands of garbage. Consider them decorative, if you have absolutely no intention of ever burning these DVD's, you'll be fine. There are crap brands, which you can use for things that you don't care about, but these simply don't work most of the time.

I will look for the thread on some other forum about these that I saw.

coupon doesn't seem to work.. is it outdated?

someone said something about newer one being slipped..

hows the Ridata G05 media? do they have good compatibility?
