Yup I know the CC by me as well as the BB by me got the game in today.
 
Im a CC employee and I even I feel your pain. We suck, hard. The Customer Service rep that gave away the gift card to yur sister in law was prolly not aware of your coming into the store. Because theres 0 comunication between people for the most part.
But I'm not here to talk about that, im here to point out a huge money saver.
This really is for the handheld users only. Right now we are running two seperate promotions. All clearence games (games with a price ending in .96 cents) are 33% off. Another little deal we have right now is that if you buy 1 handheld game you get the second one half off.
So lets say your eyeballing Drawn to Life that just came out, but you dont want to shell out $30+ for it
. Simply get a clearence DS, PSP, or GBA game from the dump bins, the cheaper the better, and go get your self checked out, make sure you get the person ringing you out to ring up the clearence game first then the more expensive one. The clearence game will be 33% off, and the brand new game will be half priced. I tried this with a $4.96 game and Drawn to Life just to est it out and the clearence game came out to like $3 something and DtoL
was $15 total of around $20 after taxes, so yeah go over to your local CC if you can stomache a vsit and get yourself a new game realy freakin cheap. :)

EDIT: I just read alot of your horror stories about CC and TBH it all depends on the individual employee you talk to in the Games dept, I myself tell people how it is, but some people dont give a rats ass about the games in other stores and thats where the shit fest starts. I feel for you all >_
 
The 33% off clearence games is automatic.
But when they scan it, there are 2 opsions. The first option is to just sell the game regularly, the second option is to include it as a "package" if they dont choose the package or just dont know what they are doing then the second game rung up will come up as regular price. So if they did it wrong then you gotta talk to one of the Customer Sevice people. It sucks when the cashier dosent know what deals are going on but its totally worth getting a $30 game for $20 or less to talk to a person at the service desk.

EDIT: This deal ends at the end of this week. 9/15 Don't let them tell you its only the games advertised, because the AD says every handheld title. They jsut tossed up some random ones to give a visual.
 
Haha, NP, I know its a pain to go in CC if you dont have to, I have visited stores close to me and the people they put in games don't know jack D: But i think this is my oppertunity to snatch up Drawn to Life or Children of Mana for super cheap. GL to all who see this before the promotion runs out and can go get a sweet game for cheap :O
 
now i just gotta figure out what games to get or maybe just save my money for triple a games like halo3/COD4.

im kinda eyeing jeanne d'arc, monster hunter freedom2, and dead head fred but neither CC's i go to have them in stock so yea... i have a ds but no games interest me i think. i dont know about pokemon and probably wont pick it up, but who knows
 
CC selection on games outright blows. The Pokemon games are fantastic, pokemon aside there increadiable RPGs and very in depth, you could easily spend 200 hrs on the game. Im pretty sure we have Jeanne D'Arc, but im not 100% sure on that one. The good DS titles are few and far between at the store but we occasionally get some good oens, like the new FF12 for DS later this year and Zelda in a month or so.
 
darn i walked out with mg acid 2 on psp for $6 (it was 8.96 - the 33%. $6.50 after tax), but I did not think they would let me ring up the clearance and get the half off on another game (I wanted to get brave story), since I'd already read that a lot of people had to tell their cashiers to ring it up manually, and I didn't want them to look at me suspiciously as I tell them "but it's buy one get one half off!" and then they take the half off on the cheaper game.
 
i would probably go back in and see if you cant buy another game and get the deal with it too. hopefully you get a good cashier/manager that will let you
 
They will do it, just make sure the clearence game is rung first, so they "package" can be put on, and the expensive game is the one thats half off. If you go in there with your reciept and MGAcid2, tell the people at the service desk that you werent aware of the promotion and that you want to add another game (brave story) on to your sales ticket. They should honor that.
 
hmmm might be worth a try. Thanks I'll head over there tomorrow on the way to my friend's house, and if they don't do it, I'll just stop by at some other CC's on the way to his place lol

I like how ALL HANDHELD GAMES does not include certain games.

I talked to some moron on the phone who told me only games with the red text stating they were eligible were eligible for the deal. I asked to speak with a supervisor and got another dumb person.

I told her that nowhere on the ad does it say that there are exclusions and that CC is shady. I also told her that perhaps this is why I never shop at CC and why nobody else does either.

I got J'enne De Arc (whatever, stupid French) and MHF2 and the 50% off glitch thing worked (albeit accidently on my part). JDA rang up the normal 29.99 while MHF2 got scanned second and was $20 off. I'm tempted to go back and continue the raping but I dunno if I'll get lucky and have a cashier ring them up in the "right" order.

Unfortunately I don't know any more PSP/DS games that I want that are like 35-40 bucks. Hmmm...
 
After following Phryo88's advice and instructions, I bought Puzzle Quest for $15 after buying Magical Starsign for $8.70. I handed him the clearanced game first, he scanned it, then I handed him the second game. After tax, the total was $25.33.

I later went back to buy 2 $20 DS games, and the total was $32.08. Thanks OP!
 
I not sure if this GC trade in value still stands (according to cag wiki: Bust-A-Move Deluxe - $15.40 - 7/1/07, 2 1/2 months ago) but Last I remembered BAMD was only 9.99 at CC so if you get two of them you can get two games for $15 and then trade one in for the same price at GC and essentially get a free game.
 
Yeah, make sure that you hand them the clearence game first or just ask them to ring the clearence game first. But yeah its possiably the best deal EVAR :D

Oh, and Meerkatgamer, DK jungle is jsut a climbing game, its not a port/remake/sequal to teh great Dk games for SNES the only thing they have in common is the graphical style. But its totally a waste of cash :/

I got Lunar knights, drawn to life, Sonic Rush, and Tetris DS so far drawn to life is pretty fun.

So I broke my rule and actually went back to take advantage of this. Got a few Monster Hunter Freedom 2 for PSP for $20 and True Swing Golf for $6. Did the same thing with Hotel Dusk. Went back and bought a couple of each at different stores to trade later. Funny to see the looks on some of their faces When they go "that'll be $48.18", "oh wait $26.76", hahahaha. Sales never work right, this time it works to the buyers advantage! Thanks Phryo88!!!
 
Just picked up MechAssault for the DS (11.86) and DK King of Swing ($15), she was like "wow...how did that happen?"....."Beats the shit out of me!" I say.

Had the nice (but still fuck ing retarted) cashier ring up Chocobo Tales 1st 16.96 - 33% = 11.36 then she rang up Drawn to Life @ 29.99 and the computer didn't take 1/2 off either one (big surprise) :roll: . So I told her that it should be BOGO 50% off so she did a price change on the Drawn to Life. Maybe it's just me but when went to school 1/2 off 29.99 is 14.50, I did not notice that she had instead she put in 19.99 :hot: . So after she had rang it I pointed out that it should be 14.50 instead of 19.99. She refunded me the 5.49 and so I got both games for 28.00. I will admit that she was really nice about the whole thing but my god they have the worst computer system ever. I got lucky on this one. I was going to price match at BB but any chance to screw CC is too good to pass up :lol: .
