This just came in on the intranet this afternoon. Starting tomorrow (2-9), all green tagged items will now be reduced 90%.

Odds are, there isn't much good stuff left...but what IS left will be $1-4, so some of that junk might be worth looking into.
The PSX Final Fantasy Tactics at my TRU was ringing up at normal price of 14.99. Strange..but I really didn't want one really since I already have one.
I went to TRU today, determined to try and find something with green tag price, that didn't have a green tag on it.

No luck, even stuff on some peoples lists didn't come up as PROMO. At that store at least, things seemed to be marked properly and if it lacked the green sticker it lacked the huge discount.
ALERT!!!!!!!!!!

Anybody actually browse the rest of the store besides the Videogame section?

I'm interested to see what other items are green tagged.
Oh yeah...if you're hungry in TRU and you can find the Snicker Crunchers candy bars...they are green tagged $.07 :)

I found a Lego Mindstorms system for $20 after the 90%. Also got a Lego Basketball court set for $5, and a few basketball 3-figure sets for 30 cents each.

I hate my TRU. They have almost everything in and almost nothing is green tagged. I even had the guy scan some of the things that sound like they are green tagged everywhere and nothing was. There were just a few minor things. And they haven't ever had GCN Broadband modems, nor anything else worth the sale. Oh well, at least I picked up a few things that others might want... (Actually, noe that I think about it, I did get PoP:SoT for the PC. I guess that's my best find.)
You may want to try scanning some of the green tagged stuff to see if its 90%. The nice thing about the 90% off now is that the actual price after discount shows up on the instore price scanners.
Hehe, trust me, I tried that yesterday and today. I even bought a N64 game to see if it needed to be totaled out to get 90% off...no go. ;_;

Pretty much same at my TRU's although out of sheer persistance I found 2 unmarked games, Aggressive Inline, and Dave Mirra 2.

just updated the official list again:

please check it out if you haven't yet and post anything that's missing from it.
I wouldn't exactly call it official, a lot of things are YMMV.
true, but at least someone has gotten everything on the list somewhere. i guess i just considered it somewhat official around here, since no one else had made one. i know it helped my out today when i went back, as lots of things aren't tagged, or are behind the counter.

When you trade into EB or Gamestop, can your games your trading in be still sealed in the plastic, which is not opened???

Would you get more money for them like that?
damn... I went to a different toys rus and almost nothing was green tagged!

was the one in parsippany NJ

i did manage to get a few cheap games to trade in though

anyone know if there is anything left in the union one?
I was at the union one at 6:30 pm. They had one gladuis left (5 bucks), one turok (8 bucks I think), 3 or 4 XII (PS2), and about 5 primals left there.
The TRU in Iselin (I was there around 7:30 pm) had a few powerpuff girl games on the clearance table, two blood Rayne games (they were red tagged for 20 bucks.), and one more eternal darkness ($3.80).
Both TRUs had plenty of perfect dark. The Iselin one had alot of xbox games in those clearance bins. Black & Bruised for ps2 and xbox.
I would like to thank this site and the members for the opportunity to get in on the 70% and 90% sale. Thanks.

I saw Harry Potter Trading Cards Diagon Alley 2 Player Starter Set which includes:
two 41-card decks, each with a Wizard or Witch card
a special foil card in each deck
a playmat with a card set poster on the back
a rulebook
a card list

by the childrens books / trading cards section for $3.99 tag price, which would be to about $0.40 each + tax. My TRU still had a case of them.

which looks just like this, except with Diagon Alley version..

So how exactly does this work when you go to eb? Like if you trade in a certain number of games you get a certain amount as credit?
You get $10 bonus credit for every 2 PS2/GC/XBox non-sports games.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48614
I'm really, really, really glad you mentioned this. It had completely slipped my mind but now it looks like I'll have enough store credit to get a PSP for a cost of less than $100.

I am a bit disappointed that EB considers WWF type wrestling a sport. If those clowns are playing a sport then so are the performers at Ringling Bros. Oh well, plenty of other goodies to run by them.

You mean WWE. ;)

*lawsuit*

But yeah, I plan to take 6 of my games I got, and since I'll be guaranteed at LEAST 30, I'll use it on Star Fox Assault, and if I have extra credit, I'll buy some PO game or something.

I sware...why can't some of you people read?
I swear, some of you people can't spell.
Exactly. And Mr. Kyle-with-a-stick--up-his-butt, if you were talking to me, how about you learn how to read. I wasn't saying that they were obligated to green tag what I wanted. When something didn't ring up PROMO, I just shrugged and when done I even took the whole cart back to the shelves and restocked the items for the guy and I thanked him for his trouble. I was just complaining about the fact that they don't ever discount anything here. It's been the same for the 70% off, the 50% off and ever since this store was built. They don't ever discount things here. They just keep old, old product. And that's why they will eventually close this store (in 60 years) when they finally get rid of everything that would go in a week, if they discounted it. I already talked to the manager back in October and he said that they were trying to liquidate everything (but usually you mark things down to do that - is this enough of an explanation, oh God of the thread, or should I write a formal essay on the matter???).

And I can't complain aboubt my store's stingy practices without you whining about "me" thinking that the green tags are universal, but three posts earlier, you can tell everyone to go buy a Snickers because they are green-tagged (i.e. You suggested that this particular green tag was universal)? Hypocrite.
I sware...why can't some of you people read?
same reason some of you people cant spell I would imagine:)

Spent around $60 dollars and saved $530 at TRU.
How on earth is this possible?

YMMV . . . mine had nothing . . . 4 old jampacks and one eternal darkness . . . its just not fair!!!

Has anyone hit up the sugarland, TX TRU or the Friendswood, TX TRU? I am going to take a ride to one after work today, and if someone can save me the trouble of the hour drive by telling me if anything is left at either one, I'd definitely appreciate it....Thanks!

My second of three was my best. Perhaps importantly, it was one with the old tag-style electronics department. It had the $14 LCD VCRs, $4 Gamecube batteries, $1 Mario Party-e and $2 PS2 Devil May Cry GH. I got a beautiful kids bike for $6, a Stikfas firefighter for $0.89 and a bunch of other toys for my kids as well. It was hell for games unless you wanted Jampacks, but its incidental video game stuff was good.

I stopped by a TRU and saw some guy go into the back where he had them hold something for him. It turned out to be a mini-stereo system with amp, cd player, tuner and 2 speakers - $70 - green tagged to $7 !!

Oh well. It's not what you know but Who you know I guess.

My haul the last 2 days:

Primal PS2 1.50
Mojo Xbox 1.00
Mojo PS2 1.00
Mace Griffin Xbox 2.00
Mad Maestro PS2 (x4, was amazed how many they had) 1.00
eJay Clubworld PS2 (ditto) 1.00

Unreal Championship 2003 PC 2.00
Red Alert 2 PC 1.00
Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge PC 1.50
Atari: 80 games PC 2.00
Mafia PC 3.00

Motorola Talkabout SLK 280 Two-Way Radio (x2) 4.xx
which had a red tag under the green one, red tag was $89, green $44

Not to bad a haul. Was from 2 stores in Columbia, SC and one in Mrytle Beach, SC. Was about to stay a couple days down at the beach to get away, but ended up just for a day. Made sure we stopped by the TRU there. :)

Most are for me, some are for family, and a couple trade ins. Amazing how many copies of Clubworld and Mad Maestro existed at the beach TRU. Probably could have picked up 20 of each. Thought better of it.

Yesterday was good to me:

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure (GBA) $2.00
Jak & Daxter GH (PS2) $2.00
R: Racing w\ Pac-Man VS. (GC) $1.50
Metal Gear Substance (XBOX) $1.50

Did my 2nd round trip last night and that's the 4th TRU I visited.

Again, nothing much really. There is only one PS2 green tag game left, Primal. Grabbed 4 copies, and there are still about 15+ copies left. It doesn't seem like everything else has been sold out, but simply the TRU around me just don't have good selection. Otherwise I am sure primal woulnd't have 20 copies left anyways. It should be all gone by now. Sign, I wish I can be some of you that finding screen or component cable for cheap.

Btw, Trade-in value for primal in EB is 50 cents each - anyone knows how much FYE or gamecrazy would give? Maybe I can get enough credit for a controller or something.

Can someone explain more how this program works and stuff at Gamestop, like I have a bunch of games I could trade in and they have a promo currently going where you get an extra 30% store credit now right? And when you trade them in do you take off the seal or how is that you guys do this? I'm assuming since they do them as used that you crack open the seal, and anyone know where I can get a list of their current buyback prices? I will be hitting up my local TRU again to see what else I can get. I know they had like 20 copies of Primal but I'm sure GS wouldn't buy them all from me, would they?

The main FYE trade in list says $1.00 so maybe its just a huge YMMV?
I love how people are just now reading this and thinking they're going to score huge at TRU.
I've been thinking the same thing since Wednesday evening! I picked up a few things Wednesday lunchtime at my closest TRU, but I went to 2 different TRUs on Wednesday night and didn't find/buy anything.

FYE has been adjusting their prices lately. Titles like Black and Bruised and ESPN 2K4 have dropped while others (like Primal and Drake) have gone up.
I love how people are just now reading this and thinking they're going to score huge at TRU.
I actually got more stuff I wanted yesterday than on the first day of the sale. One TRU put out more on the 2nd day...probably once they cleared out more of the stock room. I'm not saying you'll be walking out with XBOX screens and all that jazz but there are still deals to be had.
I love how people are just now reading this and thinking they're going to score huge at TRU.
All the big scores for me were back in August, when it went to 50% off.

This is what I nailed down back then:
Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu (XBox)
Blinx: The Time Sweeper (XBox, non-PH)
Dynasty Warriors 3 (XBox)
Dynasty Warriors 4 (XBox)
Fatal Frame (XBox)
Freaky Flyers (Xbox)
Hunter: The Reckoning - Redeemer (XBox)
Links 2004 (Xbox)
NHL Rivals 2004 (Xbox)
Otogi: Myth Of Demons (XBox)
SSX 3 (XBox)
Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy (XBox)
SWAT: Global Strike Team (XBox)
Wallace and Grommitt: Project Zoo (XBox)
Wario World (GC)
XBOX Exhibition Vol. 1 (Xbox)

Couldn't complain about any of those finds, and as I've seen, most of those have been non-existant since August.
I love how people are just now reading this and thinking they're going to score huge at TRU.
I only went yesterday and I picked up a pretty good score if I do say so myself. Also it seemed as though yesterday was when they started to really bring out the stuff because one of the employees who I am friends with said that they were offering first dibs on games to employees (they couldn't hoard and most of it was just doubles anyway, he showed me) so I did pretty. Also isn't how big a person thought he scored at TRU purely subjective? So it really doesn't matter because like I said, I thought I wasn't going to find anything but in the end I found a few good games that I actually wanted. :D

Couldn't agree more. My TRU was cleaned out during that sale by me and two other CAGs, well mostly. Also my TRU when I went seemed like it was actually adding a few more games to the bin/sale than were at the original 50% off sale.

explain to me what XBOX screen they are discounting. is it the intec 5.4? i went to one and they had it marked down to $99.99. is that the right one?

It is subjective, though there's nothing out there like there used to be when the whole green tag sale started. I wouldn't expect it to be, though I've been politely surprised with some of the things I picked up in December with the beloved coupon, and occasionaly before then. For me, most of my scores have been in August, with a few other occasional surprises since then, and a few things here and there in December. Nothing since, and there certainly hasn't been anything to cheer about that I've seen in the last couple of days. Obviously what you find is what you find, though there hasn't been enough here in this area left to make me cheer and do the happy dance over it.
