This just came in on the intranet this afternoon. Starting tomorrow (2-9), all green tagged items will now be reduced 90%.

Odds are, there isn't much good stuff left...but what IS left will be $1-4, so some of that junk might be worth looking into.

After I make my rounds to the Kmarts tomorrow morning, I'm hitting up another TRU. Then I'm gonna take some games and trade them in to EB. Its gonna be a good shopping day for me.
-The Simpsons: Trailer w/ Homer + Lurleen- $1.35
Damn, what do you want for that? I've been looking at every tru for other simpsons sets that I don't have...

I work at TRU so I guess I can clear things up.

The "xbox platinum hits" for 90% off refers to the Dead to Rights which is 90% off. On that list if anything refers to "Ps1 action", or "Ps2 fighting", etc etc, it refers to all of the games that are in the plastic holders such as the ones they have at Costco. Those are games that are not that great and or definite clearance items. Not sure if all TRU stores still have games that have those plastic cases on them but mine still does.

also those lists at times can be really far off. sometimes it will list there is 1 or 2 in the store, when there isn't any. could either be from someone stealing it, or it not being scanned out correctly from the back, confusing the computer and telling it that it still has one in stock.

also for everyone that is complaining about employees scanning something. just ask them nicely to check if certain items are green tag. scanning an item at the register won't tell you if it is green tag right away, the cashier has to go into item info and check if there is any kind of promotion running through it.

also to everyone that is getting upset that green tag stickers are being removed. there is a lot of stuff that WAS green tag and is now off green tag. it is our job to clear all that up. so there isn't a reason to get all mad because of that.

sorry for the rant. I work hard at TRU, do all I can to help out CAGs that run through the Rzone. hell I sold 600+ dollars worth of Xbox games that were green tag to a customer yesterday and volunteered to scan EVERYTHING to make sure everything was green tag. so yea, not all of us TRU rzone employees are the same.

TRU has a 2 for $20 sale going on for select titles, I picked up R-type and Midway Arcade Treasures for $20.

yet again....don't you think it would pay to read my posts???

This thread has ten million posts asking the same questions AND I've answered them a bizillion times, again and again.

Why the fuck can't you people read?

Note: this isn't a dig at you Relento, but you should read my posts. Twice I said how you can obtain that list at a tru.
:!: !!GREAT NEWS/IMPORTANT INFO FOR EVERYONE!! :!:

countering everyone's belief that this deal is strictly a YMMV deal (even mine) I found important info against this statement. Let me explain:

Today I headed off for my daily (3rd day in a row) TRU 90% shopping spree. I went over to the counter with a huge stack of games that were green tagged and aasked the employee if there were any games not on the shelves. He then just said to "use this" as he handed me a sheet of paper. The paper was a printout of everything green tag priced in the game store. It's following text was like this:

Item number----Name of Item----Original Price----Amount Avilable.
123456-----------PS2 PRIMAL------9.98--------------1

Now, i noticed that almost all the games that everyone has gotten a deal on were on the list. The only exclusions that did not show up on the list were games that they had no inventory or on shelf copys for that certain TRU. Each store will have the same list, but without the games listed if they don't hold any copies. Now... Almost the whole list of games that were 90% off were not green tagged (as in no green pricetag was placed on them). I loaded up on Haven, Primal (no surprise there), Mojo (again, no surprise), as well as alot of other crap games.. but some worthwhile.

So I say this. If you got a deal on something and it has not been stated before, post it that it was green tagged. Also, items not green tagged IN-Store are still 90% if they are on the official TRU 90% list. I couldn't take the list, but at least i saw it.

I will post what I got and what I can remember what I saw on the list:

What I have (officially 90%):
Legend of Legia 2 - PS2
Unreal Championship - XBOX
Dark Angel - PS2
Mojo! - PS2/XBOX
Wild Arms 3 - PS2
Frequency - PS2
Haven - PS2
Alter Echo - PS2
Wipeout Fusion - PS2
Whiplash - PS2
Mark of Kri - PS2
Red Faction 2 - PS2/XBOX
Primal - PS2
Aggressive Inline - PS2
RAD - PS2
New Legend - XBOX
Buffy the Vampire... - XBOX
Sneakers - XBOX
Zapper - GC
Celeb Death Match - XBOX
Space Invaders - GBA
Swingerz Golf - GC
Eternal Darkness - GC

What I can remember from game list:
Shenmue II - XBOX
Fatal Frame - XBOX
King of Fighters 00/01 - PS2
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy - XBOX
Links (cant remember year... 04 maybe) - XBOX
XIII - PS2
Call of Duty (cant remembr if on list) - PS2
Transworld Snowboarding - XBOX
Tony Hawk 3 - XBOX
Fighter Maker 2 - PS2
can't remember the rest... only can remember the ones semi-important to me... very long list.

Also... some other tasty curiouse info:

On the list I saw the following (quantity and item # not real)

Item number----Name of Item----Original Price----Amount Avilable.
123456-----------PS2 9.99----------9.99--------------41
123456-----------PS2 14.99---------14.99------------50

If my guess is right, all $9.99 priced games are 90% off and $14.99 are also the same. If someone can check this out it would be great... test it out on Trigger Man. I also just noticed one of my recipts with "PS2 9.99" someone check it out if they can...

even more interesting I saw this also

Item number----Name of Item----Original Price----Amount Avilable.
123456-----------XBOX Platinum---14.99------------41

if my second guess is right, this is 90% off all XBOX Platinum hits... even on one of my reciepts it has "XBOX PLATINUM" on it... but i can't remember which game it was. If anone could test this out a good try might be with KOTOR.

hope this is good news for everyone :)

I went again on my lunchbreak today to pick up some more EB fodder. Unfortunately, whereas there is a lack of CAG's in Montgomery, there's an abundance of Fat Wallet Nazi's. Somebody bought ALL of the Xbox screens at once, and fat Nascar tshirt wearing rednecks were digging through games for hording. My monopoly has thus ended. I'm checking out Dothan AL tomorrow, possibly getting an Xbox live kit and bike if they got it. On a side note, I got into an argument with a lady over Jack and Daxter, as she refused to give it to me for 2 bucks and claimed that it rang up $19.99. The manager ended up chewing her ass for not giving me what I had already paid for (I had gotten it with a ticket). I wanted to slap the weave off of her head, Hong Kong Fuey style.
Wow, didn't know I had a fellow CAG'r in Montgomery. No wonder I gotta move so fast to get in on deals. Well, here's a heads up for you - the Eastchase EB doesn't seem to be abiding by the exclusion list on the trade-in deal. I took in Spawn, Wolverine, Primal, MTG: Battlegrounds and MDK2 tonight & walked out w/ a $50 slip for Iron Phoenix. I know MDK2 & Primal had to be exclusions.

BTW....you didn't happen to tell someone in TRU this afternoon about Beyond Good & Evil (xbox) being $2 did you? ;)

i wanted to have the employee to scan mojo for xbox since it didnt have a green tag i knew it was on the list, but he refused because he said the price was the same as sticker on teh game. son of a bitch

I found a scooter with two wheels on the back, was marked $199, but w/ the green tag, price checked and it was $!9.99. I'm thinking about going back and getting it tommorow. What can ya'll tell me about it? I think you pump your legs or lean to make it move... it was a tri-something...

This is why hate the fact that Toy's R Us doesn't have scanners in the R Zone. Damn employees won't scan items for you. However if you ask nicely some employees (usually female) will let you take games out of the R Zone to use the price scanners.

Using self-scanner I scanned some sitting on a table most marked as $14.95 Value Games and then "2 for $20" on the sign. The scanner readout on R RACING EVOL GCN was like '14.95.......2 for $20......90%OFF Green Tag' - so got two and sales slip lists both discounts: 2 for $20 (14.95-4.95); Green Tag (10.00-9.00) =cost, $1.00. Same thing happened in Dec/Coupon/70%, on some, listed 3 discounts, (2 for 30+70% off+$10 coupon), total cost often 0.00.
Stupid fat wallet hoarders...
You know it's more likely a fellow CAG whose hoarding those games, I know I spotted a few fellow CAGs who had carts filled with games on Weds.

Two TRU I went to had nothing.. nothinggggggggggg -.-. Ohh well and anyways you could put a FAQ with an updated time on the first page. =\ It would be quite helpful seeing there is 65 pages.. (soon to be more maybe).

Let me know how i did? What could i get for the guides and perfect darks and everything?

Spent $94.50 Saved $747.77

PS: anyone has a Lego MindStorm set and wants to trade or sell to me PM me

I went to another TRU today.......they only had Perfect Dark and the DC sports games. I grabbed PD for $1 and then this guy came in and bought all that was left (and there was a lot of copies left). I'm glad I grabbed my copy.

So, has anybody found ANYTHING game related worth noting at their TRU in the last couple of days?

o, yeah...i saw this on an infomercial....its supposed to be cool, but you have to sway to move...it looks gay, more than anything else

thats exactly what my TRU had in orange county... crazy
I think it is called a Trikke, any thoughts?
It's made by Razor and it's awesome for $20...it's not really made for adults though...I found it to be smallish.

Just got back from the two Syracuse, NY area Toys R us's. Pretty much same story with picked overness, but they was like that when I was there around Christmas time. The one in Dewitt had a cart of games at the front of the store, but they are mostly the Dreamcast sport bundles. I snagged:

Death Crimsom OX (DC) for 1.00 (last copy)
Offical GC RF Switch/RF modulator for 1.70 (Never know when you'll get a system from a garage sale in need of this thing) (last one)
DC sports bundle 1.20
Fire Emblem Hint Guide 1.50 (last one)

But the thing that surprised me was that they had at least 200 or so red tagged games laying out. Most was not too exciting or very cheap except for

PS2 Xenosaga 1 for 3.98, but it rung up 3.48!

They had 14 copies of it, but I only bought one. No doupt YMMY, but if you are in the Syracuse area, you may want to snag one.

Of note is that they still have several La Pucelle Tactics in the slip tag section which say 29.98, but they ring up 9.98. I got one of those around christmas time.

They did have at least 50 of those card game things for the GB next to the cart of DC sport bundles. I think they would ring up 20 or 30 cents each, but I had no use for those. I think they had Ballon Fight, Golf and Excitebike.

I then went to the one Clay, but their TRU was very organized and clean (unlike the DeWitt one) and everything green tagged in the store was out in the open on tables and such. I did not buy anything there, but they did have 3 KOF 01/02 for 3.00, several Phantasy Star Online 2 for the DC for 2.00, several Perfect Dark for the N64 for 1.00, loads of DC sport games which I think all TRU has, at least 5 Power Puff Girls for the N64 for 3.00 (I think). One Jet Grind Radio for the DC for 1.00. At least 3 copies of that Online Battle Assult something with Microphone for the DC for $2.00 I think...and several copies of some Tennis game for the PS1 and that's about all. Nothing really exciting there unless you need the KOFs. I bought one of those for 15.00 or so around Christmas >.

My TRU was totally cleared out of green tagged games. An employee said that somebody had bought the last of the green tagged games the day before. The best I could find were the 7 cent Snickers Crunchers, the Colonel Homer and Lurleen in Mobile Home interactive figures for $1.20 (they also had Herman and his gun store and a Bee Sharps Chief Wiggum one where he was dressed in a suit and had a mustache), a GBA Rollcage for 10 cents, some generic Force Pak for N64 for 10 cents, the DBZ Budokai guide with DVD for $1.70, and the Yu Yu Hakusho guide with DVD for 80 cents. Other than those Simpsons interactive figures, it was pretty barren. I had hoped to find R Racing with Pac Man Vs. for the Cube, but I had no luck on this one.

For some reason, almost no games at my TRU were marked green tag that were on either list I've seen floating around here. I got about 6 Xbox Exibition demo disks, 2 Primal, 1 King of Fighters 2001/2002, 1 Mad Maestro, and 1 R Racing with Pac Man Vs (SCORE!!!). For some reason, only one of the R Racing's I picked up came up as green tagged, though I didn't see anything different between it and the other two (I tired picking up the three they had so I could trade those of you who didn't have it at your store). If you don't mind paying 15 dollars, and are near the TRU in Joliet Illinois, they still have a few, they just aren't ringing up green tag for some reason. Also not ringing up green tag for me:

Ratchet and Clank (yes, I made sure it had the sticker covering the UPC)
Everquest Online Adventures
Rogue Squadren III
Super Monkey Ball
MOJO
Amplitude (the guy at the register said that some Amplitudes at the beginning of the week rang up green tag, then suddenly the rest won't)
A few others I don't remember what

Also, I got lucky and found the last copy of La Pucelle. It was 20 bucks, but hey, I think its worth it.
Mojo Xbox was taken off the green tag list at my TRU - it used to ring up as "Value Software" or whatnot, but sure enough it was the full 9.99

I got a ton of the PS system carrying cases for $1 each though :)

Dave
exactly what happened to me

Technically you didnt save anything if you wouldnt have bought those games at full price.

Well just got back from another TRU in my area (the one that I really wasn't expecting much out of it.) and well it was basically cleaned out. Lots of old DC sports games (still) and some game guides (most torn or bent or worse) and some cruddy PC games for little kids. Hopefully tomorrow I'll head out to the last TRU and see if they have anything left and maybe check my first TRU again to see if they put out anything else but that's it. I think this sale has mostly run its course.

And nice haul cag1000. I already have or got most of those but still nice.

Mojo is another multi-skn item. It was available in the plastic cased ones (the playstation ones are translucent and the xbox one's are blue)...these are the value software titles...ALL of the ones that came in those frames are green tagged. Each one of these titles has a different barcode than a normal game would because they each have a sticker over the UPC.

TRU has recieved new shipments of Mojo with the $9.99 price tag on the right corner of the game...these are different skns, and thus different prices.

Rogue Squadron 3 is a green tag deletion.
Super Monkey Ball was NEVER green tagged as a normal game.
Amplitude was also NEVER green tagged. Funny thing is they ring up regular price at my store...regular price is $29.99 for it...lol

Someone just jacked the TRU list and posted it on slickdeals, pretending for it to be their list, pretty lame.

In any case, I'm going to EBgames tomorrow to see what I can trade in towards my psp and then back to TRU to see what is left ;)

Well, might as well post my haul I suppose. Spent a while scanning things (my TRU is one of those old-style stores w/ no actual video game section - just the paper slips you take up to the register). Found a few I had been looking for CAG prices on, and a few for friends, and them a bunch to trade to EB.

Primal (x4)
Savage Skies
MDK2:Armageddon
Sled Storm
Warcraft 3:Frozen Throne
Everquest:planes of Power (x2)
Baseball (e-reader)
Clu Clu Land (e-reader)
Balloon Fight (e-reader)
Donkey Kong 3 (e-reader)
Pokemon e-reader cards - 1 pack each of 3 diff sets
Fire Emblem guide
No One Lives Forever
PSOne AV Cable
MTG:Battlegrounds (x3)
Beyond Good & Evil (xbox - x2)
Whiplash (xbox - x2)
Zapper
Eternal Darkness
Siren (most expensive purchase @ $10.98 :p)

Total w/ tax = $59.62

Not too shabby. :) I'm *might* go back tomorrow, because I've seen one or two listed here that I didn't know to look for - but I'm kinda doubtful they're there, so it depends on what mood I'm in. ;)

I'm tempted to go back to TRU, despite everything being picked over, oh well, tomorrow's my birthday so I don't see why I can't.

I saw Siren there really cheap, and I'm interested in getting that.

how much was WC:TFT?

I found a stack of 10-12 copies of a DDR limited edition music cd. It said not for resale on it and was in the clearnace section. I scanned it and it came up $9.99. I asked one of the ladies and she said it should not be on the shelf because of the not for resale on it. I then suggested It was maybe a giveaway of somekind, but she said it should not be in the system if it was. Anybody know about this or what it was from??

I asked one of the ladies and she said it should not be on the shelf because of the not for resale on it. I then suggested It was maybe a giveaway of somekind, but she said it should not be in the system if it was. Anybody know about this or what it was from??
I saw this too, but with stacks of SPider-man 2 Doc Ocs Dilemma from LEGO... I think it's promo stuff. Also, in the same pile was Metal Gear Solid 3 demos.

i got:
Primal
Shaun Murray Pro Wakeboarding
Beyond Good and Evil
Gladius
Gladiator Sword of Vengeance
Wallace and Gromit
UFC Tapout 2
Legends of Wrestling 2

Estimated trade in at EB?

My toys r us had alot more stuff and lots of copies too but i only had 30 bucks on me. My friend got 13 games for like 33 bucks...when we were ringing up they just kept bringing out more games with green tags, so many primals and stuff, i may go back

The only gem I got was a display GBA with e-reader for $9.90. It was missing a battery cover. The manager of the R-Zone section was just looking to get rid of anything in the back room. She brought from the back room a box full of green tag items that were not on the shelves. Mostly junk, but there were a couple of DC games.

I found crap at my TRU the other day. Only things left:
a bunch of playstation controllers
NBA 2K3 (Xbox)
A big disappointment for the 45 minute trek. suckage

Is anyone willing to trade a copy of R: Racing Evolution (GCN)?

here's what I got between two stores

Black and Bruised (GCN)
Drake of the 99 Dragons (Xbox)
Ejay Clubworld (2x) (PS2)
Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs Zeon (PS2)
Legends of Wrestling II (PS2)
Fighter Maker 2 (PS2)
The King of Fighters 00/01 (2x) (PS2)
Everquest Online Adventures Frontiers (PS2)
Mad Maestro (PS2)
Xbox Exhibition demo
Space Invaders (GBA)
Onimusha Tactics (GBA)

Total Price: ~$37

They had a lot of stuff that people have been getting green tag prices for, but I had the employees at both places scan some of them and no luck, came up full price.

There are still a bunch of Primals and Wipeout Fusions left at the Wilmington, DE location. And literally a whole shopping cart full of Sega's NFL 2K3 for PS2. Not much else as I got the last Zapper (GC) and some guy picked up the three remaining Mummy Returns (PS2/DVD movie combo) for $2.

I'm not planning on making any more trips to TRU as the three I've been to have been pretty much wiped clean in three days.
