I think we're starting to learn something, it's not just men who are pedophiles. If the news is any indication (which it usually is a horrible one) then male and female pedophiles are about equal.
Given the content of this board, you wouldn't think that this person is a pedophile.
What the child thinks is important, but the societal reaction is similarly important. "She's totally hot!" is a rather peculiar response to someone who has been having sex with a 13 year old, don't you think?

I think we can still say she's good looking and that we would want to have/have had sex with some of our teachers yet still understand that what she did was wrong on every level. It's that fantasy thing, where the fantasy is better than the reality and none of us would cross that line. At least I wouldn't. I mean imagine class if that happened. I wouldn't be able to look at her...
I'm not going to argue if she's attractive or not; that's subjective and not the point.
She's a pedophile. That's my point, and I think it's appalling that people would even treat such a circumstance lightly. I wouldn't even touch this with a fantasy.

Back when my Great-great Aunt was a teen (early 1900's) it was commonplace for a girl of 13-15 to marry someone in thier 20's. It's just now society has changed. Of course back then life expectancy was near 40 so that factored in as well. Also, marriage at that age was often to produce offspring to help work the land. Most people would physically mature at about that age. It in this day an age the adult has so many legal options available that it is hard to defend her actions. It wasn't until a little after the turn of the century that societal morals were placed on such unions. I think the thing that will cause the most problem for her is the fact she was in a position of authority and unlike my example of marriage, this was strictly a physical relationship. If the guy were 16 or 17 and she 20 something, and she wasn't his instructor, this wouldn't be headline news. She should have some punishment but 100 years is way overboard. There are drunk drivers who have killed who don't even get 5 years. She should get about 5 years, be barred from teaching ever again, and be put on probation for at least 20 years. However, if they could prove grave injury was done to the boy, then she should get more.
