I got no call and I must say SHAME ON YOU GAMESTOP! I will be calling in the morning. My big reason for not calling was our stove caught a fire and we had to have someone come in and fix it, while cooking dinner for a birthday party. So it was an eventful day. I'll let you know tomorrow...

Aside from all this bullcrap about them not honoring their deal, I haven't even recieved my incomplete game yet. For some reason I wouldn't feel right about complaining before I get the package.
 
I've doen nothing but running aroudn and shopping for a bathroom job I was hired to do. I'm assuming it's lunch time their in CST so I'm waiting a little bit and then I'm going to call.
 
Okay, finally got to calling them. Got distracted by Fable: The Lost Chapters...

Called, a woman named Kristen answered. I asked if I could speak to the supervisor. She wanted to know what it was regarding ect. She then puts me on hold (about 5 minutes) and says she spoke to the supervisor (what, she's too good to talk to me now?) who told her that she is doing the following....

She is emailing me a UPS label. I am to send back my game and once they get that they will be shipping me a new copy because they are unable to get me a used guitar.

It's fine and all but I don't get why they can't just send me one from a store. Also, I am offended that the supervisor refused to talk to me! I'll let you guys know if this ever arrives, my trust in them isn't much.

Wow, what exactly did you say? Cause all the rest of us have been trying to get this same thing and we've failed.
 
Just call and DEMAND the supervisor. Maybe I was the first to talk to her but do NOT give up. Do give them time and then keep calling and calling. It's what I did anyway.

I also said that they DO carry the guitar used but it is back ordered. Also, I did a search myself on the gamestop site and came up with store in a 200 mile radius of where I live that have the controller. I gave the names, numbers, location ect. I also explained that I WANT and SERVE my paid for guitar.

Remember to stay calm, don't go around stating "well this one person blah blah blah". Always be firm but calm when talking. Explain everything in detail ect. Make enquirys to B&N also. Jump back and forth if need be and use what one says against the other.
 
I just called Gamestop. I'm going to see no problem in getting a new bundle. The guy I talked too said "We would have no problem sending a controller, but we are out of stock, so we can't do anything for you." WTF?

I have to call back on Monday in order to talk to a supervisor. I suggest EVERYONE do this. It needs to be done.
 
Hi, make sure to find local stores (200 mile radius) that may have the controller in stock. Ask them to send one of those to you. And tell that to a supervisor and not an underling.

Oh and it's gamestop that I worked with not B&N, who i might add were exceleltn on the phone, took time to hear me out and didn't put me on hold forever (hell, she put me on hold and kept checking back and letting me know how it was going with their supervisor at B&N, trying to figure out who I should get in touch with).

One person (almost two?) thus far has called GS and asked to speak with a supervisor and has been told that a new bundle will be sent to them in exchange for the game. Wolverfactor has already been told he will receive a tracking number in accordance to this.

What is suggested for the rest of us is that we call, have our information (order number, name, address, etc) and ask to speak to a supervisor. As long as we are firm, we should be able to get the same result, correct?

The only reason I worry is that I can imagine someone saying "well we are doing this on a case by case basis," because I can't honestly see a corporation eating a 30 dollar cost on each order.

That all said, if it is suggested that I call and ask to speak with a supervisor, I will be doing that this week when I get back to work.

Does anyone else have any doubt? I believe WF suggested we *not* say "Well I know others have gotten the bundle in regards to this error," but that seems to be the best defense. Especially when they could make a claim as shallow as "There's nothing else we can do but refund."

Am I correct? Please advise, fellow CAGs.
 
Has anyone NOT recieved the game yet? It says my order was shipped the 20th and it STILL hasn't arrived. I'm starting to think that not only did they not send the guitar, but my game may have gotten lost in the mail as well:(

I disagree. By law, once a company accepts your money for the item (which was a used Guitar Hero w/ Guitar), they have to deliever a product of equal or lesser value. Imagine a B&M store. If you see a sticker that has a price for an Xbox for $4.99, by law, they MUST give you that price. I personally would take that sticker off the rack so they couldn't quickly change it and bring the tag to the front, but the idea still holds true.

DO NOT USE LEGAL JARGON! While everything I said is just true, do NOT use it. The CSR's will instantly lock up and deny help, promise. Just tell them that you do not want a refund, but instead the item you purchased. Tell them "I paid for a preowned Guitar Hero w/ guitar, and I do not wish for a refund. I would like to recieve what I paid for, or if that is not an option, I want a new bundle." They have to do one of those two things, by law. It's just up to you how involved you want to get.

In my case, I will be calling on Monday for sure.
 
Has anyone ordered from B&N? Did it come with the case? I get everything complete unless I can't.

Oh wait it ships from GS, now I feel like a fool. I've only read the sixth page, what is the exact problem you guys are having?
I guess they're no longer honoring the deal even though it is still listed.

thanks captain obvious, but the fact is, i've opened this thread a lot of times since it's been started and it's never been in stock. seems like only a few people have ordered and didn't get the full deal and the thread title is pretty misleading...since it's a dead deal.

It is back in stock, is there any chance I get the guitar with it or will I have to call them and demand a guitar to get one? probably they still wont be shipping one even though the mistake has been up forever and still says "guitar hero w/ guitar - used"
 
I find it too funny that it says it's in stock. Gamestop SWORE up and down that they had it removed. Oh wells. If mroe people get the guitar, I see no problem with ordering it. As long as youhave the time and energy to put the effort into it.

They should send us all brand new bundles free of charge. It's ludacris for this to STILL BE LISTED in the EXACT same fashion. It's unethical, and Gamestop needs to learn to GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

I can't believe it's up again at B&N and they still didn't change it. That just shows they are either lazy or don't care. That alone should make them honor it for everyone

This is really fuckING crazy. Everytime I call and ask to speak to the supervisor she is either in a meeting or out of the office. And this has been seven calls spaced out over two days. Is there only one supervisor or what? And how come she's not returning any of my motherfucking voicemails? I left them on Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and today (Wednesday). I'm getting the feeling that she's ducking my calls or something.

If I do not talk to her tomorrow I am calling the BBB. Maybe they can have her call me. I can't get any highter than a normal CS rep at the company, so I guess I have to go elsewhere.
 
Sorry for your luck. I really don't see how this company can run like that. I say call your local Gamestop and see if they could hook you up with a number to reach someone above this supervisor. Also, make sure you get her name, I was never able to understand what name they were saying.

Thanks. I'm just glad someone got through. So there is acutally someone there. I think her name is Kianna. I have it written on a note downstairs. I'll contact my local GameStop and see if they can hook me up with a corporate number or something. Thanks for the idea. This is just crazy that the fucking thing can still be ordered. I should order like eight just to prove a damned point.
 
Same here Webscud. I don't even bother with the people over the phone now when I call, I just ask if the supervisor is in, and I get the "No, shes doing this or that" and then I say ok thanks, bye. I don't waste my time. But it's crazy. I wonder what she actually does for the company, because it doesn't seem like she takes care of the customers.

It's a fucking conspiracy. Honestly, she can not be busy 24/7, let alone busy enough not to return week old phone calls. A rep told me that she will be in at 9am central tomorrow. I will dialing at 9:30c. Keep me posted on how you do too.

What position are you guys coming from? I plan to elaborate on the fact that

A) It's still for sale this way on BN.com even after Gamestop notified us. That's unacceptable.
B) I paid for a Guitar Hero w/ Guitar and it's not my situation to deal with if GS doesn't have any guitars in stock.
C) If a B&M store has a price tag for an Xbox at $.99, they are obligated by law to give me that Xbox for $.99. Same thing online. If they sell a Guitar Hero with Guitar for $42 odd dollars, they need to come through with it, even if they don't sell a used guitar. It's up to them how to handle it, whether it's ship me a new bundle or get me a guitar.
 
It sounds like the same name as the woman I had. She had a very Southren accent and she tended to mumble on the phone when going over certain details. She also NEVER returned a call and I'm just VERY demanding on the phone. Make sure you state that you were expecting a call back ect. Come off as if you're never going to leave them alone. Never yell though.
 
My angle is:

1.) I paid $39.99 for Guitar Hero with guitar. That's what my recipt says. I was not notified of any "error" in listing prior to my card being charged or package being shipped. So that is EXACTLY what I paid for.

2.) Even more so, I can place the exact same order again since the listing hasn't been "fixed". That after the mass e-mail they sent out.

3.) Your error is not my fault.

4.) There are three stores within 200 miles that have pre-owned $9.99 guitars in-stock. Send me one. Or transfer one to a local store. (Props, Wolvie.)

5.) I've been trying to call her since Wednesday, February 1st yet you have failed to call me back in every instance. Why?

The B&M angle is good.
