I was looking to purchase a Teknoman Complete Collection off Amazon from this seller who had it listed fairly low, so I sent him an inquiry to check the condition of the DVDs.

So I ask:
Just wanted to check if this is the officially licensed R1 DVD release of the collection and it comes with the original case with all the discs.

Thanks.
After I finished eating dinner, I noticed I got a response from the seller.

And it goes like this:
I'm sorry to inform you that the listing has been removed. I was on a time table, and frankly, no offense to you, but this is why I tire of selling and buying online. When buying, the simplest item takes a ton of politics and forever to recieve, and when selling, I have to keep lowballing my prices for an eternity to the point of losing money, just to get a message asking about my product. I don't have the time or patience for that. Teknoman in my opinion is worth Way more than the going rate on Amazon, and it sucks having to shoot myself in the foot pricewise to sell it 4- 6 months after I need the money. I have a Baki: The Grappler in mint condition still up that is worth quite a bit, that I'm selling for $50 if you're interested.
After wasting a good 30 seconds of my life, I decided to waste even more time in response.

Something like this:
Well that's nice that you decided to write me an unnecessarily long reply of why you hate selling on Amazon and think that your products are more valuable than the listed prices by other sellers, but to be honest, a short answer of "Sorry, I don't have it anymore." would have sufficed.

Just as you hate to get messages about people asking about the condition of your products, I hate it when sellers who have their own agenda decide to make their rantings to me while all I want to find out is about the condition of the product and that's really all I wanted to know.

If you don't like selling on Amazon, then stop selling on Amazon. Amazon aren't the ones that are undervaluing their products as you can tell they put the prices of most of the listed products quite high, and the real people you should be angry at are the third party sellers that are in a free market system to list as little or much as they feel like to get the sale/profit, because that is just how it works mostly everywhere.

I'm sorry you feel you have to act condescending in an attempt to try to make a point to someone who really does not give two cents about your opinion of how the Amazon marketplace works, right or wrong, I frankly just don't care about what your opinion on any of this stuff is.

But once again, thank you for your overly unnecessary response to an awfully simple question that you apparently can't seem to answer properly.

Have a good night.
But yes, quite hilarious.

Edit:

So I got a response from the seller.

And it ends like this:

Hey thanx ####. I'm gonna take your advice. You've been helpful. And any response will be deleted so don't bother.

I guess he had no more fight in him in the end. :p

That's part of the reason why I never respond when people ask questions about my items (especially if the answer is in the description).

Yeah, if people just describe it properly, it probably wouldn't happen AS often, but this guy didn't list crap and then responds like this. :p

Almost sounds like he was selling a bootleg and trying to cover himself for the takedown (and didn't want to deal with a knowledgeable buyer).

This is almost certainly what happened.

I also agree that this was probably the case.

If it was listed as Like New, you might've done better to pull the trigger. If it's not Region 1 and complete you have an A to Z right claim right there.

I don't blame the guy really, when the price goes low enough there's plenty of buyers who will jump on it--no questions asked.

It was listed as good.

But in general I just really hate to do claims of any sort if I could avoid it.

And it wasn't THAT great of a deal, just a few bucks cheaper, so wasn't worth it just to jump on it without a whim for this one.

But yeah, I know what you mean.

Seeing how this guy even reacted too probably would have been a headache to claim through in the end anyhow, so just saving myself the trouble ahead of time. :3

Oh man, I try not to even look at things in the "Good" area. If it was actually in great condition he should've listed as VG or Like New. Good could mean anything from "this item is in okay shape" to "barely squeaks above acceptable."

I'd have just bought it... If it HAD been not as the amazon listing itself, you simply file an A to Z claim, odds are amazon would not only find in your favor, but allow you to keep the item

I'm like Squarehard, I would rather avoid a bad situation if at all possible. This has certainly cut back my eBay buying by a whole lot. I've been crapped on too many times to try and save a few bucks.

Wow, I sell on eBay a lot (over 500 feedback at 100%), and would always answer every question to the best of my ability, even go out of my way and provide extra pics ect if the buyer was asking about condition ect. That guy is a joke, and maybe he can't get what he wants from his items because he does not now how to market it (pics description ect) or how to use basic customer service skills.

Funny post though.

I ALWAYS ask before buying something used. I'm a fuss pot for getting stuff like new and it's so much easier to just ask ahead of time instead of try and return and deal with d-bag sellers. Being cautious before buying is always better. What kind of jack ass chastises someone for that!!
