A “Halo 3” for Everyone: Three Editions Coming This Fall

It is still "kinda" $100 at Best Buy (and some other sites). Basically they still have the price at $100 and Best Buy's pre-order policy is they will always charge the lowest advertised pre-order price. Suppose a game cost $50 and it dropped to $40, they would charge you only $40. But in the opposite way, if that $50 game increases to $60, they charge you only the $50.

P.S. Pre-ordering Halo 3 gets you MS points for only $5 at BB.

Took a chance and bought ours.
The $5 points are available tomorrow for pickup but if you leave them in the cart shipping is $5 less ... go figure....
We're banking on the idea the $30 will go towards additional inclusions...and hoping BB will honor the $99 pre advertised price...

In for one at Best Buy with the MS points card. We'll see if they honor the $100. I may be moving between now and the launch. Think it would be hard to change address to ship to? Would they charge me the extra $30 if I have to change addresses later?
I can't imagine that Bungie/Microsoft would be so dense as to stiff people twice on the Leg Ed of Halo 3, once on the price and once on the adds in the LE that aren't present in the Leg Ed.

Hopefully, it'll be the Leg Ed that gets everything.
I agree. Why have the 3rd version with replica helmet if it doesn't include everything from the 2nd and then some. Spectreon called me today to inform me of this. I had to reserve mine in Texas because I was waiting for Christmas cash/giftcards. I used my $75 in GS Giftcards for my reserve so I'm only out $55 . I know I could use that $75 for another game, but I'm a collector and am slapping myself for passing on MGS3: Subsistence LE. Hopefully MS/Bungie will be swayed by the opinions of the publics voice on these types of forums. For $130 those assholes should be giving me Halo Wars as well.

They should have just packaged the whole trilogy into the legendary edition...then I'd probably buy it since I don't have any of the Halo's for Xbox(Only for PC...well I had it) :D

I was going to get the regular edition but I might get the $70 version for that home theater calibration program on the bonus disc.

I preordered mine back in January and they haven't changed the pricing.

Went ahead and placed another one last night just before they increased the pricing to $130. We'll see what happens there.

My friends have theirs in at Gamestop and they got the phone call about the increased pricing. They're pissed! :hot:

So the regular game is $60 still, and there's no additional in-game content for the other versions?

Then what's the complaining all about? They get to decide what they want to charge for it, and you all complain not because it's expensive, but because you know you won't be able to resist buying the $130 version.

Life would be much easier for you, me, and everyone else if you just said "no" to buying versions that you readily admit are unnecessary and overly expensive. They'd stop producing them, truthfully.

As long as all this "LE" crap that everyone buys into avoids delving into an area where the actual game content is changed by the LE, then I'll happily live my life and buy very few, if any of them. Once the game changes contingent upon what "version" of the game you buy, I'll just stop buying those games entirely.

i agree with mykevermin. its all about the actual game. if the game itself is worth $60, do you REALLY value all that supplimental stuff at $70? ....seriously?

when i got halo2 i got the LE .... for $10 less than the regular E. ... on launch day. ..... without preordering.

considering things collectable when theres 10 000 + made of them is for suckers. (just as preordering is for suckers)

there. i said it.

I was planning on the limited edition, the legendary packwage was alwas too much, anyway, is

what the LE will look like?

if one had preordered the legendary version of halo 3 from gamestop, what did they message say. My wife had listened to it and I deleted when I got home. She told me that there were options, do I have to call them to confirm I am keeping the legendary?

i sure as hell hope not, if thats the case i'll be passing. i dont need that behemoth on my shelf for ONE game. - space is getting tight as it is. the LE case for Halo 2 remains one of the nicest DVD cases ive ever seen.

I'll probably just get the LE, since the metal case will hopefully go with the LE case for Halo 2.

Does anyone know if Best Buy is still offering the 1600 point card with the pre-order?

No. If you want to keep it you don't have to do anything.

yup

$130 is too rich for me. I'll grab that LE edition and watch the additional bonus stuff on the net once someone rips it.

regular edition for me. or I'll wait until I can find the LE for the RE price just for the metal case.

$130 for a helmet you can't even wear? jeez.

I think im gonna get the legendary edition. I dont want the stupid helmet but i want the dvd with the remasterd cinematics...especially since i never played halo 1/halo 2 single player, only the multiplayer.

This is going to be the first halo i plan to play through in its entirety(thx achievements) and it would be nice to watch those first.

If all else fails ill send it to ebay.

Ah man, call me a sucker, but I MUST have the legendary....

I'm selling all of my lackluster Wii games to finance this gaming monstrosity.
