A new Punchout would be solid!!!

a new punchout will NEVER happen. neither will punchou/super punchout ever be released on the GBA. as said nintendo.

damn shame.

or battletoads, perhaps?
Battletoads rocked....even a well-made Double Dragon would be pretty cool co-op game...

I've wanted a new Battletoads for the longest time, unfortunately if they made it, they'd probalbly make it a stupid 1 player 3d game, or somewhere along the lines of the new TMNT...
I'm still waiting for that new Streets of Rage that PS2 announced about 2-3 years ago in PSM or was that another prefabricated PSM exclusive that didn't amount to jackschitt...

Did they give any reason for that? Sure was a fun game...

so would a new karnov
...but Data East went bankrupt.
Who ever wound up with the rights to all their titles? Surely somebody paid something for Karnov and Bad Dudes and Heavy barrel

A new Punch Out based on the original arcade game? Yes please.

Most people seem to forget that's where Punch Out started.

Haha damn! I had totally forgotten about that game, I'll have to check E-Bay for the original. That game owned.

If it were remade, it wouldn't be the same.

Obviously, Tyson would be gone. Look at all of the negative publicity he's gotten over the years - definitely not what Nintendo wants to find in a spokesman.

Beyond that, the characters wouldn't be nearly as cool as the originals were...Let's admit the truth: most of the characters in the NES game were stereotypes. The Great Tiger, Don Flamenco, Piston Honda...the likes of them will never be seen again because Nintendo can't risk offending anyone in this god-awful politically correct country.

It wouldn't be the same thing at all...but if, by some miracle, it does get remade, I'll definitely be buying it. Different isn't always a bad thing.

Super Punch-Out! didn't have Mike Tyson and it had a lot of new characters and it was still awesome. I think a sequal is totally do-able, or at least a remake of Super Punch-Out!
