A quick question about CAG morals...

CAGiversary!
I managed to price match this past TUESDAY'S Fry's ad at my local Circuit City yesterday. This was even though the ad said "1 Day Only". Circuit City's sale price on Kirby DS was $29.99, and the cashier price matched the (now expired) Fry's ad and I got Kirby DS for $24.99. Of course what I did was sightly "morally questionable". Not to mention the fact that I had just priced matched Yoshi Topsy-Turvy GBA for $22.99 at the nearby Best Buy with MONDAY'S old Fry's ad. I just prayed that the sales clerks wouldn't notice the fine print. So, I aks you, did I "overstep" my CAG oath and invite bad karma?

On a scale of CAG morals 1-10, with 10 being an absolute violation, this ranks a -1. You pricematched an advertised price. Sure, a day old, but who cares. Don't worry about it, nothing wrong with what you did.

A moral issue would be brought if you returned it somewhere and tried to get money back from it.

No harm, no foul.

I think CC will match any advertised price within the past 30 days. Even if it was a one day sale, two weeks ago. At least that's what my location has told, and done for me.

That's not immoral at all. You only saved a couple bucks, and didn't screw either store out of a game or profit either. It would be immoral if you somehow pricematched it for like $1 and then returned it to Wal-Mart without a receipt. Or if you bought every single copy of a discounted game and spent the next year reselling them on ebay.

I don't see a huge issue with this because of the times I have been screwed by intentionally misleading ads featuring fineprint... turn-about is fair play, so to speak... However, it is certainly questionable since your intent was to hope they wouldn't observe the fineprint... And clearly you are feeling a slight bit of guilt... If it makes you feel any better, just go donate the money you saved to someone who can use it more than you... and call yourself Robin Hood... or put the money you saved toward an Ayn Rand book and don't feel guilty about it.
