A Whole lot of price drops at GameFly (11/9)

For future reference for me:

I know that the games come in great condition usually, but are there any signs that the game came from GameFly, like say stickers or marker on the discs or case?

No. The ones I've gotten have all been mint.

All Gamefly does with their games is put a little flyer inside the case thanking you for ordering from them and offering you a free trial.

By far the best place to buy used games.

you can find Fatal Frame 3 15.99 new (should be cheaper used) at gamecrazy also or do a special order for 6 bucks more. If they can't find it get your money back no problems.

Have no worries about condition. Gamefly is the ONLY place I'll even considering buying a used game from, because they guarantee the game to be complete (unlike EB/GS) and in nice condition.

I just purchased Grandia III from there for a steal of a price. Like $18 bucks or something. Anyway, the condition of the game is perfect. Took awhile to get here but it's to be expect since they only ship from Cal and I'm in MI. Regardless, way better than Gamestop.

Agreed......Ever since Gamestop bought/merged with EBgames I don't buy on-line from them anymore. Gamefly provides you with well kept games and they give you original cases and instructions.....that's quality.

I ordered Lost in Blue from them, but recieved this strange e-mail from them:

Dear _____,

Thanks for placing an order with GameFly.com. Your order is on hold until we can confirm this purchase. Please have the credit card holder give us a call at (888) 986-6400, M-F, 9am-1pm PT, so that we may verify the purchase.

Thank you,

GameFly Customer Service

Is this normal for them? It's a bit of a pain in the ass for me to call that early as I have to leave for work just after 9. I guess I could do it from work on a break, but that's pretty inconvinient for an online game order.

Also, I checked my bank statement and I've been charged for the game twice with an additional unexplained $1 charge, that I've also been charged twice for. So instead of being charged me $21 it's charging $44. These are only pending charges and they shouldn't stick, but it's still pretty crappy of them, because my bank considers pending charges towards overdrawing your account. Luckily that didn't happen this time, but it's pretty shitty nonetheless. I've never bought from gamefly before, so can someone confirm if this is common practice for them?

Never happened with me, but I've never used a debit card either. They're a good company, though, so give them the benefit of the doubt.

I buy my used games exclusively from GameFly - no other company for me - and I've never had a problem. Of course I would like my games faster, but wish in one hand - right? Give 'em a call and see what's going on. They are a very reputable company.

I've never had that happen to me with GameFly, but I have had a couple online purchases 'held' by my CC company for various reasons. Usually, giving your CC company a call to confirm that you did indeed authorise the purchase will clear things up (you may need to re-submit your order).

It's all about additional online purchase security - sure it's a pain, but it is kinda nice to see that the CC companies don't just blindly send payments out when a transaction doesn't match your profile.
