Just thought I'd give a heads up that is is really easy to get some of these games. While looking through the exclusion list, I noticed Jampacks Winter 03 and later, and Xbox Exhibition volumes 3 and later are NOT EXCLUDED. I just got Kessen 3 for WTA Tennis (PS2, and $1.50 at TRU), Jampack volume 10 and 11, and Exhibition volume 5 and 6.

EDIT - Winter 03 IS on the exclusion list - anything after that ISN't.

Anyone know if this is just a myth and I will have to fight tooth and nail for it..or when it might beoome public knowledge to EB employees? I got a couple dos3's and oddworlds :D

Are you guys getting doom 3 ce/splinter cell 3 ce free after trade in of 5? I tried to do it and ended up having to pay the difference because the trade in was for only $50.00 toward the purchase of these games.

That is the way it is supposed to be. Some of us have gotten the deal by accident.
I just called my (3) local EB stores & no one know about this promotion (Trade-in 5 games & get 1 FREE) :(
Just print out the deal from the EB Website and take it in with you. It shows up in there system even if the CSR doesn't know about it.

Best part of the whole story. I love going into EB and talking about stuff the employees have no idea about. I was talking about the future promotion for president's day, and the guy asked, "Who are you?" "Do you work for us?"

I wanted to laugh in the guys face, but i told him "no" and to "check out CAG"

ha, i think its hilarious. we are in a secret club or some shit.

You oughta see them scramble in Montgomery at BB or CC when I come in. A few at CC actually ask me about their own inventory system.

I didn't know Auburn had an EB. Maybe I should start going there for reasons other than a proper shitfacing

Damn, I just found this out after I traded in 10 $1 games for GT4. Actually, I would've spent $10 anyway on the POS's and not made off with the additional credit in the process.

Also I think that if you pay off a game in store credit, you get back like $5-$7 in credit. Can anyone confirm, please?

Gotta go do this for DMC 3...sadly there isnt an EB in my city so I gotta go drive to one...not too far, maybe a 40 min drive.

where'd you hear that info? Like, from what you heard, did you have to preorder the game in order for that to work? I need details :)

i did this for Madden 2005 CE about 4 or 5 months ago. The guy there let me trade in anything i wanted to trade in. i traded in 5 old sports games!

AFAIK when you pay with trade-in credit, that amount goes untaxed. so if you buy a 49.99 game with all trade-in credit, you only pay 49.99. that's how it was when i worked at EB, but maybe it's YMMV.

Auburn actually has two, or really Opelika does. One is at the mall, the other is at the new place called Tigertown off of 85 where Best Buy is located

Serously, I don't know if a thread or post has mentoned this info, but I'm interested in these deals but have a hard time finding cheap titles under that are not on the exclusion list. So basically:

We need a list of games, cheap games, that slip through their exception list. For example the 2004, 2005 jampacks not been ncluded on the list according to one poster. Any other ways of finding cheap games that are not on the list?

I really want some of these titles so this info would be awesome.

I traded:
Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex GameCube
Starsky & Hutch: Nintendo GameCube
Yager Xbox
Metal Arms: Glitch in the System: Xbox
Powerpuff Girls: Relish Rampage GameCube

They cost me like $14-16 total

I mentoned these in an above post:

Rygar
Castle Shikigami 2
Gungrave OD

hotwls, believe it or not, you may have been able to get a better deal. At my EB - Powerpuff Girls for Cube gets $17 trade in credit BEFORE the bonus

I found that apparently the "M-rated" Summer '03 jampacks aren't excluded (though the "T-Rated" version is excluded, as are the Winter '03 Jampacks)

Does CC or BB have jampacks/exhibition discs for cheap? I went to TRU yesterday and they we selling jampacks for $6.99 with no green tag.
is gt4 confirmed at all ebgames store? has anyone besides the original poster preordered gt4 with 5 games?
I just preordered GT4 this morning. The guy at the counter hadn't heard ot it yet, but looked it up and found it. Said it started yesterday. He was really cool about it too and scaned in all of my games to see which would apply, and picked out the 5 that had the lowest trade-in value to use!

I ended up trading in: Xbox: [Exhibition V4, Mojo] PS2: [Jampack v11, Jampack V10, Rygar]

I was a little peeved that they were only offering $1 trade-in for Rygar, considering what they normally sell it for! Not to mention that the trade-in value for MGS3 is $17 now? Ug.

Anyway, the gamestop's around here have new jampack V10 for $3. V11 is $3 used if you can find it. For some reason the Exhibition discs are nearly impossible to find. I've checked CC, BB and ofcourse TRU, but nobody has any.

Damn it to hell! Actually now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it was GC or PS2. I never even opened it. Oh well, I had it in a stack of games that I paid $3 or less for. I will be on the lookout for some cheap PPG GC games now.

Actually, they should have given you whatever the regular trade-in credit was plus the $5 bonus, so you couldn't really lose either way. If you didn't get $17 credit for it, chances are either you didn't have the right game or the trade-in value has changed recently.

No - he traded in 5 non-excludes for a free game, the $5 bonus doesn't apply.

But the PS2 version is much lower trade-in, so that might have also been it.

Dave

Either way I got a $60 game for $14-16. I am going to give it another try in a couple days using the jampack 10 plus some others. I don't think they will let me use duplicates on the same trade, I have tried in the past and they said NO.

Mojo was actually accepted??? It's clearly listed as a POX on the website. I'll have to try this.

I thought that too! That is until they accepted it! I checked the exclusion list again and it's only the PS2 Mojo that's excluded, not the Xbox one. Makes me wish that I had a couple more of them.

(ah, I can see how my original post could have looked like it was the PS2 version that I traded-in. I went back and edited it to try and be a little more clear.)

Okay, i noticed that after paying off a $50 item, i got $5 back in credit after the guy hit the "Change" key (or what i assume is a 'change' key). So you can actually get some credit back. I also noticed that paid off pre-ordered items are exempt from tax :D

But here's something i found disturbing...I tried trading in 2 very common games from TRU (Mojo and Hypersonic Xtreme Racers for PS2) at a couple of EB's after work and they were excluded from the $10 deal. Has EB finally wised up to TRUs $1 formulary?!! If so, this could be very bad for anyone either looking foward to the deal or who hasn't cleared out their collection of Mojo's and Music Makers.

After hearing about the jampacks getting cut off the 2/$10 deal (along with other, regular titles), I grabeed a couple known PO games from my collection and the last Mojo and newer Jampacks that I had and headed over to my local EB this morning to pre-order DMC3 and found that both Xbox Mojo and Jampack V10 got POX'ed overnight Mojo still worked on the 2/$10 deal though.

Jampack V11 and The M-rated Summer 2003 were both still PO, and for some reason Black and Bruised PS2 also went through as PO.

So for DMC3:

GC - Primal Fury
PS2- Jampack V11
PS2 - Jampack Summer 2003 M
PS2 - Black and Buised
PS2 - Rayman 2: Revolutions

I looked through my EB receipts and noticed that when I traded my Winter 2003 jampack about a week ago it was actually PO, not POX'd as I stated in my previous post. Could've used it for Splinter Cell. ](*,)

Have to pay more attention to the little screen when they're scanning the games.

Yager Xbox now on restriction list. I just used it this week. They are catching on quick. I wish we had a list of all the games not on the list that can be had for cheap.

Woohoo! I just noticed I now have two squares. over 100 posts.

Dammit! I wish they started adding more crap to exclusions AFTER the 21st so I can take advantage of getting cheapie titles at Best Buy.

edit: Mary Kate and Ashley Sweet 16 is now on the exclusions. I uh..saw some guy trading them in today.

so is there any pretty cheap way to do this? It looks like all the TRU green dots are on the list. oh well. id trade in some older games, but that excluded list is laughing at me. LAUGHING!

If you are looking for cheap games, check out Half.com. A lot of people sell games really really cheap, especially Jampacks/Exhibitions. Shipping kills many a good price though, but there are a few gems.

Heads up to all:

If you do not know the employees at the EB, make sure you always follow the rules and check with them first. Because of the EB shutdowns around me area, 2 EB within 10 min driving shutdown. I had to go to one that is 17-20 min away.

What happened was that I took in 5 games, 2 of them were Tenchu Xbox duplicates. They wouldn't take in doubles (this was 3 weeks ago, WAAAAY before the post on here at CAG). So I asked the associate if I could trade in 4 and bring in one later next week to get the Splinter Cell promo. She said yes.

I go in last week, and she takes in the game, but she asks "Now, what is this promo again?" I tell her about the 5 for 1 deal. But the deal would not ring up so they called the manager. He says that IT MUST BE ALL TRADED IN AT THE SAME TIME! So, the girl worker who traded in my games tells me that she will take care of it (whatever that means) because it was her mistake while her co-worker ahole friend kept saying maybe it's not possible. In the middle of their argument, she looks at me, tells me to come back on March 22, and the game will be paid for. So before the manager could come downstairs or the ahole employee could do a counter argument on me, I left, taking her word for it.

Sorry to make my story long, but BE CAREFUL - trade them all same time. Of course, on the day I go, I will print out the promo, exclusion list, and be ready to argue like there's no tomorrow. By the way, does any EB employees have a word on this? I know there's a few who browse here on CAG

The word is that yes, they are supposed to be traded in at the same time. The way the promo works is the 5 PO games are scanned, and then when they go to whatever game you are pre-ordering the promo code automatically applies - this is impossible to do if they aren't traded in at the same time.

The only way I know of to get around this is for them to void your original trade-in and then re-trade in all 5 at the same time, but if you traded them in a while ago I don't see that as a very viable alternative

Dave

I noticed today that Resident Evil Code: Veronica X for PS2 is now PO instead of POX as it was before they moved the price up to $12.99
