So yeah I'm about to get a psp. What are some essential and cheap accesories I need?

I know i need a usb to psp cable would be nice for the transfering of files. Where can I find one super cheap?

Also maybe a cheap hard case and/or a speaker stand that is also a case.

You can find a cheap USB cable anywhere, even a camera store. I use the cable that came with my digital camera.

Yeah, you might have a couple lying around your house. It's a USB to mini-B cable, I think (correct me if I'm wrong). I actually saw a couple the other day at the dolllar store the other day.

The Logitech PlayGear Pocket is a really good case that also acts as a movie stand/glare shield. I don't know about it being real cheap though. I think MSRP is $24.99, but I've seen it for $19.99 occaisionally.

I would suggest a screen protector too, the Horis are the best.

Ditto on the PlayGear Pocket, super awesome. Also, I think I've seen it for 14.99 at either ebgames or FYE.

If you are thinking about putting homebrew on there don't upgrade the firmware! I made this mistake and am stuck with 3.5. I didn't know much about the psp until after I bought it...i really regret upgrading firmware.

I got the playgear pocket case thing at game stop the other day for 14.99. I would rather have a soft pouch though. For me, the hard cases is a little over board.

That's what you think until someone trips over the charger cord or something like that. I've had 1 close call already and it almost gave me a heart attack. Everything feels much safer in the PGP. Soft cases are good for traveling, though.

IS this the type of cable you guys are talking about? Im gonna get a PSP eventually, and im assuming you need this to put homebrew and stuff on the PSP?

Also, if I purchase a new psp, is the charger in the box? And the rechargable battery?
Yea so I ended up not getting one and just got a ds instead
you can stop giving this guy advice.. he already said he got a ds instead... with no explanation as to why

Yup, that's the cable. The charger and battery are included in the core pack.
