CAGiversary!
Namco-Bandai's Active Life (known as Family Trainer in Japan) is available from eStarland for $47.95 ($51.95 shipped). This game comes with a special mat and normally retails for $60.

Note: eStarland also claims that it ships in 1-2 days, even though other sites list the release date as Sept. 9. Not sure what to make of that.

For those not familiar with the game, it's basically a fitness game with an arcade-like feel. Check out the video review below for an extensive look at the gameplay.

Wow. This games looks way better and way more fun than WiiFit (check out the video at WiiFolder). Sometimes it's the simplest technology that works best. The problem I have with WiiFit is that there is just no way to make things like push-ups fun. They are still just an exercise no matter what happens on the screen. Also, this game gets jogging games right. It's a game. You aren't just watching a character move around on the screen. Here you have to jump obstacles (by you jumping), move left and right, etc, and you are competing against your high scores, which gets you moving faster and sweating more. The kayaking game looks awesome. I'm definitely going to be buying this game for my kids (err... for me :) when the kids get a Wii this xmas. Thanks for the heads-up!
