Advice on CC $20 Giftcard Guarantee

I don't shop at CC anymore, but I do have one unresolved problem:

Two weeks, ago I was going to pick up Boogie for the Wii, it was guaranteed in by 2:00 Pm, otherwise you got a $20 giftcard.

I got there at 1:55 Pm, and at 2:00 PM asked for the game. Two sales people told me they didn't have it. I went to the front to get my giftcard. While waiting 15 minutes the game mysteriously came in from the back. The manager offered to sell it to me, I took her up on her offer, thinking she was going to take $20 off. She didn't and refused, saying "we had it in the back" at 2:00. Sure, when three people are asking for it?

Now, I have called Circuit City CS, the manager of the store, and all are unwilling to budge. To me 2:00 Pm means 2:00 Pm, not 2:17. Any advice?

- One point: I asked the manager to review the LP footage, showing I was there waiting at 2:00Pm; he refuses.

im 1/1 :) it was for Harry Potter (wii)

just make sure u go straight to CS and ask them if its IN their COMPUTER system and if not ull get it :)
give it a break, they had it in stock at least and gave you an oppurtunity to buy it
Agreed. It probably WAS in the back. Its not like it comes out automatically once they get it.

They always pull that line on people anytime they do that "in stock or you get x" thing. I've also heard something along the lines of "Well, we had some, but they sold out" in which case they also refuse to produce proof that they've sold any.

My advice is, don't trust that offer as an incentive to get the game at Circuit City *unless* CC also has the cheapest price anyway, and even then, don't expect anything. They'll try any and all loopholes to get out of their "guarantee."
