I live in Japan, AKA - the land that helped kill HD DVD, and ever since the announcement that HD DVDs would no longer be produced I have gone to every nearby store every single day waiting for the sales. They never happened but for some reason, now that the format is dead/dying people are starting to buy the movies here (at the ridiculous Japanese prices of $40-$80 a title). Everyday I have been looking at Afro Samurai and just willing it to go on sale. I would say there were 15 copies or so altogether in the nearest stores but they just kept reducing in number as fools kept buying them and mocking me.
Today I went in and BAM, there it was! The last copy for the "low-low" price of only $34 instead of the standard $55. I hate to call it a sale after getting all my $10 HD DVDs from the US online clearance sales but, there you have it.
My deal of the day. AFRO SAMURAI HD DVD $34
