I'm almost done with my term papers so I can get ready for exams. I was just wondering if anyone else has been sequestered in the library, living off of vending machines for finals?

No....but when I was in college the library was definately your friend before finals. Ha, you should have went to Engineering school....no term papers to write, just study for finals.

On the other hand, we had a lot of projects that really sucked, occasionally right before finals. Of course, looking back it was nothing compared to the 130 page presentation I finished for work today. On a Saturday. What I am thinking?

I was stuck in the Digital Media building for pretty much the first half of my exam week jumping between working with two sets of teammates for different classes. I think my longest streak there was about 30-ish hours with only two trips to go get food and Guitar Hero. I don't think we could've stayed awake without that game. Sure, it took away some time from productivity, but definitely less than if we'd passed out. Two of the three of us who'd stayed overnight weren't coffee drinkers, but we were considering utilizing the coffee maker in the break room. But guess what? The coffee they had was decaf...

The funny thing is that during the two hour period between when we finished our video project and when we had to go onto campus to present, one of my teammates passed out with his phone dead, so we got really worried. Fortunately he showed up right before class started.

I did, once, for some art projects I was working on. Drank soft drinks and ate Chex Mix from the vending machines...

... needless to say, I never finished the art projects, as I spent most of my time on the Internet, looking at weird books and staring at people.

Indeed. Over the past 3 days I have been living in the library stuyding for finals. Not fun at all :(. Almost done though. Just 3 tests left.

Living in the library means you start to notice things. Like the directions of the bookcases, and the amount of fat on that girl's thighs, and the people who apologize when their phone rings on the quiet floors...but they answer it anyway.

I haven't been slammed that hard yet. I was lucky enough to have a lot of my due dates staggered. of course, every weekend for the past month has been a rush to get a paper or presentation done. I'm also only taking four classes, one of which doesn't have a final (had a 35 minute powerpoint presentation + 6 pager combo instead, which was worse imo)
no, but I do recall spending about that in the lab. I think all majors have a taxing period somewhere in the junior or senior year.
Tell me about it. This was my third year, and I haven't had time for anything outside of either school or sleep. That doesn't stop me from collecting video games, but I don't have time to really play them. In fact, the only time I touched my poor Gamecube this school year was when I brought it to my Digital Rhetorics class to show off Capcom's cel-shading.

I've read about some guy at a college that lived in the Library for like 3 months. I didn't spend more then 8 hours in my school library but I did have to write code for like 20 hours taking only a few naps. That was pretty hard.

Are you at UCF?

Last semester my roomates and I lived in the libraries when it came to finals. Now that I'm close to graduating it seems we have less and less work. I just finished my second to last semester and finals were kind of easy except for one or two. Now this last semester is going to be a bitch because of my senior design project and I still have no idea what I'm going to do it on. But at least my other classes seem like a piece of cake.

Are you getting your daily recommended dose of Reggie?

If not, no wonder you feel so weak and tired. And puny.

I was concerned about this at around 4 PM yesterday when my left testicle becaome loose. I photoshopped him pissing up Peter Moore's nose while eating a PSP, printed it out, and taped it to my arm so that any time I feel weak all I have to do is point and, lo, I will be inspired. On that note....back to work!

...
Maybe after a few more minutes.

SIR. I DO BELIEVE WE SHOULD MAKE REGGIE ARM BADGES.

Think of the power.

I just graduated and I never went to the library. They have a virtual library that I did most of my research from. I guess that's the beauty of being a commuter school, you can just sit at home and do everything.

The last two weeks of college are always hell, not because of the need to study but because papers and projects are always due for every class. My school actually ended April 29, the day of the last final, which I think has to be one of the earliest for any school for whatever reason. Its fun to listen to everyone else bitch now since I went through my hell over a week ago, and a lot of my friends don't get out for another week or two.

I don't like going to the library to study or work on paper. I feel like I don't get very much done there and if I'm studying or reading there I always start to fall asleep. Sure I get distracted a lot in my room and it takes me forever to finish even short papers, but I like working there better.

Every time I would try studying in college, I would always end up just surfing the web. Damn this site!

THREADJACK!

post here if you are currently procrastinating from studying. I'm "taking a break" from a take home final about divorce law reform.

Horrible, I hope next year is lighter for you.

In med school, have been coupped up cramming shit into my head for going on two weeks. Won't stop till i get enough, or July, which ever comes first.

Ugg shoot me in the face.
After reading this thread, I are glad I never went to college. I would hate writing up all that crap.
as much as I complain about college sometimes, I love it.
Yes I am. Are we...famous...in Pennsylvania?
Yeah, there's a UCF appreciation club here!

j/k. I'm going through the college searching/app. process and I looked at schools in FL since most of my family lives there. UCF seems like a really good school, but the size is insane. How do you like it?

Thanks for the well-wishes, but something tells me it's not going to get any easier. It's now going to be a whole lot of production and service classes. Afterward, I intend to hit grad school, which I interpret as me paying thirty-grand to be one of EA's whipping boys.

jPoD, I'll send a PM your way.

Sounds good, i'm gonna go lay down and watch some baseball. I'll respond 2moro. Thanks!

There better be a line in there about how Reggie kicked fascism's ass and still had time to rescue Timmy from the well AND fly cross country UNDER HIS OWN POWER to punch random crazed hippies and bag ladies in the face.

Calc final in 1 hour and 15 minutes......i'm not worried about it at all, and that worries me....

I've gotta look over some notes for my eastern religions and developmental psyc finals tomorrow, then I have social psyc wednesday and "wonders of technology" (a joke physics class) friday. No hard classes for me.

You didn't go to college? You're kidding.

I was finished with finals a week ago.

Interestingly enough, there was a guy in Hungary, I think, who looked a lot like Mr. Fils-Aime (He is to be refered to as Mr. to avoid copious amounts of ass kicking). Anyway, now I'm working on Chinese! It's... hard for me =(

SpazX, I actually had an Eastern religions course too. I had to write 20 pages about Japanese aesthetics in relation to Buddhism. I wanted to shoot myself.

Hahaha. Funniest thing happened to me today. I studied for my Physics test all weekend and the test was today. I go to take the test and the TA was late and he rushed out and handed us our tests. The test was 70 questions all multiple choice (scantron) with a time limit of 2:30. When I got the test, I noticed that some of the answers were bold. I thought nothing of it until 5 questions in, I saw that all my answers matched up with the bold ones. Could it be that I got the answer paper instead of the actual test? I skipped to the end and saw that indeed all my answers matched up. I was over joyed that I would get a easy 100 on this test until an hour later out professor comes in and says there was a mistake and the test would be rescheduled. :(

:booty: Nice one.

I miss college but I don't miss studying for finals since it pretty much involved me learning an entire semester's worth of information in a few days... yeah, I missed a lot of classes... mmm... beer...
