Alan Wake: Limited Edition $38.97 at Amazon.

agreed, great game. Purchased on release. I did not buy the collectors edition, would like to own it. I would like to have the locked avatar awards that one can only through this edition. sounds goofy I know. I just hate having alan wake show up for avatar awards and have the 0 of 2 and no way to get them with the disk i have.

Hmmm, I have wanted this game for a long time but never picked it up. I'm kind of on the fence for this but don't know if I want it or not. The bright falls theme doesn't really interest me. What avatar awards does this version of the game have that you can't get with the standard version? The hard cover book looks like it might be an interesting read though, and the bonus disc looks interesting. I'm just not sure if its an extra 30 dollars interesting, considering I could probably get a disc copy of the game used for 10 bucks locally... Hmmmm....

I don't remember how many avatar awards there are, but you can get this jacket.

The coolest thing in the CE in my opinion is the commentary. I love commentaries and it's good to turn on for a second playthrough while picking up the collectibles. Of course if you have a friend with the CE I think you can just put in the disc and install it on your system, it's not a code.

I love the game but honestly I don't think it's worth $40 when the standard one is so cheap.

Agreed, I thought in game commentary would take off after Left 4 Dead did it.

ive been waiting for this game to pop up cheap new but i dont know if i wanna pay the 40 for it. the regular one still gets the free dlc too i think.

Great game, good CE. Never got around to reading the book that came with it.

Only bad part is the lousy ending. It's not even satisfying in a gratuitous sequelbait way.

Loved this game. No idea why it did not sell like hot cakes. I think it was the release window if memory serves. This CE a lot better than some I've seen lately! ;)

It came out on the same day as Red Dead Redemption. You've got people like us who follow games online and then you've got people who walk into Walmart or GameStop and buy what's new and looks good. You've got RDR which had a big marketing campaign with the words "from the makers of GTA!" and Alan Wake. Those people played RDR for two months and when they went back for another game Alan Wake was long gone from the new releases. Whoever picked that release date for the game is an idiot.
I feel the same way. I want it down to 30 as well.
It's been $30 before. I picked 1 up during Black Friday week last year during the CE sale they had. So maybe it will drop down to that price or lower again.

For $30 I would be in as well. The game itself can be found for $10 (rare cases less) so 20 bucks for the extras is a no go for me.
I'm so stubborn. $9 cheaper and I'll bite.
thumbs up, I really want this but I also really want it for $30. Come on little buddy!

The CE was $20 a long time ago, but it's still a fun game, if you don't mind paying $7 extra for the real ending ($14 if you buy it used)

I decided on getting the CE used on Amazon from Express something or other that had fulfillment by Amazon (so my Prime works for it) for 23.99. It's a game I've been meaning to pick up, I don't think I'll get a chance to sit down and play it until after the fall releases are done.

one is a jacket & scarf for male. other is same for female.

the 2nd disc has an AWESOME developer commentary that plays while you play the entire freakin' game. it is just as awesome as it sounds (if you like that type of thing). i am trusting a friends experience, as i have not done it myself yet.

i would SO get this if i hadn't beaten the game already. i do need to rent it to beat the 2 dlc chapters i bought, eventually.

I went back and forth on this one, but finally decided to bite. Hope the game is as good as most people say.

Amazon said it had 12 left right before I ordered, so anyone that wants one shouldn't wait.

^ Thank you. I was on the fence but seeing how they only had 9 left at the time of my purchase, I didn't really want to chance missing out on this. It will go nice in my collection.

What do you mean by 7 extra for the real ending? Are you referring two either of the DLC content packs?

I think he means because one of the DLC's comes with it and you have to buy the other for $7?

I already bought it when it was on sale. I thought ahead

Just for the record, the DLC does not really add anything worthwhile to patch up that awful ending. Buy it because you want more gameplay. Don't buy it to round out that cruddy ending.

imo, ending was a cliffhanger, not bad. Most people do not like cliffhanger, though but that is classic for this genre.

Last I heard, the $7 DLC gives you a different "ending" to the game's story. The storyline in itself was pretty freaking great though, so you really don't need the DLC if you don't want it.

The commentary is basically just like Alan Wake's narration: It just states the obvious over and over. I'm two levels in on a run with it enabled and they haven't said one thing clever or given us one worthwhile look at their design process yet.
