Aliens vs Predator is an entirely new title for PC and high-definition consoles from acclaimed British developer Rebellion, the team behind the 1999 original PC gaming classic.

Bringing the most intense war between two of science-fiction’s most popular characters FPS fans, AvP delivers three outstanding single player campaigns and provides untold hours of unique 3-way multiplayer gaming.

Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freya’s Prospect.

- As the Marine, you’ll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there’s never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity’s last line of defence, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.

- As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honour ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.

- As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares - the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.

- Play all sides off against each other in a series of unique 3-way online modes and go tooth-to-claw-to-pulse rifle in the reinvention of one of multiplayer gaming’s defining moments.

I can't believe the lack of interest in this game. If they pull this off it has a lot of potential. It looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

I'm excited as hell for this although I'm sad that the Hunter Edition is 99.99. Still getting it. I also gotta get it for PC though hehehe lol

I just sent them an e-mail about the PC version. I'm still really tempted to buy both the PC and 360 versions and get the Hunter edition for the 360.

The Hunter Edition pic is here for ones that have not see it.

I would like to see a real pic of the facehugger then the one they have. Might not be that great of a set if the facehugger looks like crap.

There's a thread on this game already. Same lackluster reception over there. Yeah, I'm too lazy to find it as well. Simply put, Batman AA beats this game hands down.

From what I knew this was the thread on this game. Also isn't Batman AA a different type of game then this?

Why did you pick Batman to compare this game to? They're completely different and can't be thrown into a category together. I'm also pretty sure this is the thread for this game.

I went to Gamestop today to reserve the Hunter Edition in full. Cannot wait!

I'm interested and it looks cool, but Rebellion is making it. I know they made the first one, but they suck complete ass. I have no faith it will turn out to be a good game.

A lot of their games have been on ridiculous release schedules which hasn't helped the quality of their games.

1. No there is no other thread
2. The game isn't even out yet
3. Batman was a damn good game so it wouldn't surprise me if it beat this game, but relevancy?

If they sucked complete ass they wouldn't be making a new one. I thought the originals were fantastic.

I think the game will be fine. Unless there are some major glitches the game should go over well. The main issue some of the previews had was with the darkness, but with a game like this, that issue is subject to the player.

You could always make your screen brighter. As for the people making the game if you look on amazon the others are not going cheap. I would like to pick some of the old ones up but they are going for 70-100+.

That excuse can only go so far for pieces of crap. No excuse can cover the failure that is Shellshock 2. They should all hang their heads in shame for that one.

It was a budget title for a reason. Like with Rogue Warrior. They basically received a half finished game and they were given 6 months to do something with it. Why they released it I do not know. I have faith that they won't screw up their main franchise. Sometimes you can just tell when a game will at least be decent/fun.

Wow, really?! I still have them somewhere, I should really dig them out and play them again.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ssc_...d-keywords=alien+vs+predator&sprefix=alien+vs

Aliens Versus Predator Gold 79.88
Aliens Versus Predator 2 Expansion: Primal Hunt 150.94
Best Seller Series: Alien vs. Predator 2 80.16

However I did just notice that others are selling them for less, a lot less. I'm sure someone will buy them at the prices people have them at. I might buy them only find the cheapest new one or get the one that seems like it is in the best and most complete for the lowest price. I don't want to pay more then 25 each.

Also for the ones that are wanting this for the PC like myself and want the Hunter Edition I just got an email back from Gamestop. All it said was the Hunter Edition is now sold out. However if you look at their site they still list it for the PS3 and 360.

So has anyone else downloaded this yet? I'm downloading it right now and I'm going to need people to play with. I'm pretty sure it's a multiplayer demo.

I just finished my first round. I played as an Alien. Here is what I noticed:

Stalking players is awesome. The greatest perk of the Alien is the ability to see other players through the walls. It sounds silly, but you really get the feeling that you are an Alien with this ability, as it allows you to really pick some nice ambush spots.

The game is scary as hell. As an Alien, not so much, but I know that the Marines I was killing were running for their lives. At one point, one of enemy players backed himself in a corner and was looking madly in both directions. Too bad he didn't look up and I dropped down on him and ate his fucking brain.

Melee attacks are strong and you can do Trophy kills with the X button. However, the devs have put in a blocking system to combat the strength of the Predator and Alien melee abilities. It basically goes like this: You can block light attacks and Trophy kills (from the front, but not the back). You can't block heavy attacks. Heavy attacks really are just to beat a Block...light attacks kill much quicker.

Racing down a hallway and leaping to the ceiling, running down the walls...all awesome.

Sneaking up behind a Predator and shoving my tail up his ass and out his face.

Its also possible to see cloaked Predators. One thought I couldn't see him and was going to wait for me to move on...well, I ripped his mask off and ate his face.

When an Alien eats another player, the view goes inside the Alien's mouth.

I didn't notice how the health system is, because the fighting was so frantic. There really wasn't a safe place on the map I played, which was a Predator ship which had several stories and lots of ambush possibilities.

The jump function for the Aliens will be something that a really good Alien player will be using a lot. I jumped from one floor to the next at one point.

I'm going to wait for a few more people to get online on my Friend's list to play it again. Maybe we can do some improvised Team DM, or at the very least, racial DM (meaning we don't kill the same race as we are).

Also, before I forget, the one kind of shitty thing about the demo (hopefully not the game) is the fact that if the host leaves the match, match ends and everyone is disconnected. My first match ended that way. Too bad too, me and a Marine were tied as it ended. I wanted to see if there was a sudden death for those tied.

Anyone know the size of the demo? I have the BFBC2 demo taking up most of my free space right now. Man do I love having a 13gb hdd.

I'll be getting the demo this evening. Feel free to add me if you'd like.

Depending on the strength of the demo, I will also be getting this game on release day.

Alien - Auto refill after a while ala Halo

Predator - Use those health needles like the other 2 games but they use up your "special" bar. Can refill the bar by finding these refill stations located throughout the map.

Marine - Find a health kit

Cant wait to go home and play this, started to download it before I left for school.

Whoa, totally missed this thread even after using the search feature...God I hate the search engine here.

Anyways...queued it up and hoping to play some MP later tonight.

I may just have to download this. Sounds amazing and I have been looking forward to trying it out. Playing as the Alien sounds amazing, but I wonder, does anyone feel that the Alien is overpowered? What are its flaws if it can jump to other floors, see through walls and cloaking of Predators and climb on walls and ceilings?

Marines sound good, but they can't do anything the Predators or Aliens can? Imbalanced?

Well, hopefully all the classes are balanced, that will be the real trick for Rebellion.

From what I can tell without having played the demo yet, I'd say that the Alien is the close combat expert, whereas the Marine has long distance shooting capabilities. If you, as the Alien, can get close to the Marine without him noticing, then yeah, he's done. But if the Marine sees you coming, I'd guess that he'll make pretty short work of you.

Not really sure how the Predator fits into the whole equation. Maybe a sort of mix of the two styles, with ranged weapons but also a cloaking ability to get closer.

At any rate, for this game to survive online, the classes had better be pretty balanced, and I'm hopeful they will be.
