My first reaction was "how dumb, way to crap on the fans who supported the XSN games last year," but after thinking about it I suppose it's for the best. The games last year weren't that great....Amped 2 was passable and Top Spin was good outside of the damn loading times, but other than that there was nothing really noteworthy. If the 2006 games really do end up being a lot better, the break will have been worth it. It's going to be hard for them to surpass EA & Sega though, year break or no year break.

And no, as of now they are not going to be shutting the whole thing down, so the 2004 games will still work fine on XSN.

You know, this might actually be a good sign. I had seen rumors that EA and Microsoft had both been a bit more amicable toward each other in recent months past...perhaps they're going to work out some deal with EA for online sports domination.

Either way, doesn't affect me...only professional sport game I own for Xbox is NFL Blitz 20-02.

Yeah, it appears they are FINALLY ready to kiss and make up. I'm also not too big on online sports games, but if EA actually worked together with XBL to make really oustanding online play for their games (and not just giving it the exact same thing PS2 would have), it would be damn hard to resist picking up at least Madden.

Top Spin had load issues, bigtime, it also had that annoying feature of when you fail a challenge you had to load out... then load in again to try it a second time. Good God that was stupid, why not have a retry option? Other than that it is still the best tennis game on the market though tennis is far from a game that needs an annual update.

Links 2004 was very good but miss fired a bit. They launched with far fewer courses than Tiger Woods and the create a golfer feature was nowhere near as deep as its EA competition. While the plethora of online and offline gaming modes were incredible the title stumbled a bit with the basics. Despite all that I loved it and would have purchased a sequel. I don't even mind having had to pay $4.95 for Kalula Plantation or any other courses they come out with. You've always had to pay for extras on Links so I don't think it's that different. Yet another title that doesn't need annual updates.

...behind Microsoft's decision to cancel its 2004 lineup of XSN Sports titles.

RalliSport Challenge 2 is still scheduled to ship in April, but after that, don't expect to see another XSN Sports game until 2005, and possibly not until the Xbox 2.

Looks like they are not cancelled, but put "on hold" until 2005.

Wow, huge news. I am glad to see them do this. Most of their sports games really do blow and I hope they get their act together and produce some good games finally. I like Links, but that is about it.

By 2005 and 2006 i think wed probably be seeing the next generation of systems and really wont be playing or spending our money on Xbox games. I deffinitly think this is it for the XSN games until XBOX 2

Exactly, a couple of months ago I remember in a rumor section of some game mag that EA might have online sport games by 2005 for Xbox.

I'm pretty skeptical that they'll be able to produce a football game that can compete with EA and SEGA's offerings even with a year break. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

i know the game sucks compared to other baseball games but theres not gonna be inside pitch 2005. that means this game will take a 2 year break?

I think this is a good decision, because outside of Top Spin and Links I find their games lacking, and most people prefer Tiger Woods over Links.

Rallispot Challenge 2 is coming out soon and looks to be the best rally game ever, and even if It's not we still have PGR2 to fall back on.

Top Spin has awful loading times, there really is no reason for it. I was hoping for a sequal soon because I wanted faster loading times, custom soundtrack(the menu music is loud and sucky and i'd like some music while i play matches. The silence is realistic but sometimes makes the game boring), and more players. Where are the William sisters? :?

Has anyone played inside pitch 2003 without walking away after 5 mins. Better yet did any one buy inside pitch 2003?
