This was originally posted at IGN boards. That's were I learned about this site, starting with the Kay Bee Toys sale. I guess it's time to return the favor.

Ultimate Electronics advertised recently they were closing out Playstation games at 20% off. As of Thursday all Playstaion 2 and PSone games are 50% off

There might not be one in your area but if there is go check it out. This includes all major Holiday releases if there are any left.

Confirmed!!! I called the closes UE and they said that yes, they are closing out on their games. I asked, "Really, every game?" and she said, Yup.

Happy shopping....
 
anybody know if this applies to online purchases? I browsed the website, but saw no mention of any closeout specials.
 
Ultimate Electronics, Soundtrack, and Audio King are all the same company.

Don't get entirely excited though. I used to work there and the selection is minimal, and prices take forever to drop.

However, don't get your hopes up too much. Unless you are the buying new holiday releases like Max Payne 2, Budokai 2, ESPN 2004 sports games, etc., you are still just getting a deal no better than Circuit City. They were still selling FFX at half of $49.99 (which is rediculous...no wonder they are closing down the vgame program). However, I spotted a non-GH FFX and just had to get it for my future bro-in-laws so as a smartypants, I told them to call CC because it's 14.99 this week but the guy eventually told me that they can only match it, they can't match the competition, then mark down 1/2.

Oh man, too bad. I was hoping they'd have Haven and Gungrave for half off. Who would want new releases for 50% off?

Doesn't make a difference to me, though, as there is no Ultimate Electronics in my state.

I am checkout the store tomorrow. HOpe, i can finf Ratchet & Clank 2, GTA: DP (Xbox), FFX2 & couple more titles ;)
 
Well thanks alot 128$ that was supposed to buy me textbooks got me Max payne 2, FFX-2, Prince of Persia, TMNT, and 4 trade in games going towards Ninja Gaiden at EBgames hehe. Oh well who needs books when I wont be studying anyways i'll be playing all my new games! Also I hit the Arlington TX store, selection was minimal only things worthwhile was a few new sports games and 1 FFX-2 and 2 Prince of Persia, rest of the titles were so so. New CAG convert right here!

Well I guess the CC sale was enough for me...since no stores in NC. Thanks for the info Yeahman, and excellent keeping up on the list while the CC sale lasted.

I just picked up an Eye Toy, Castlevania LoI, Rachet & Clank Going Commando and Sly Cooper for 80 bucks...Not a bad deal at all.
 
is it off xbox too? I have all the ps2 games mentioned, I'm looking for legacy of kain defiance for xbox. Anyone know?
 
The only games Ultimate carries are Playstation. They mainly sell higher end electronics so they are doing away with video games all together.
 
Ya Arlington was the only one I went to, i'd go check some more tomm but unfortunately its NFL playoff time hehe, cant miss the games!

I don't think they carry any other games besides PS/PS2...at least at the one I went to, and the gaming section is 2 aisles that are about only 5 feet high and 15 feet long...I'm suprised they still had Shinobi, Wild Arms 3, and FFX non-GH! Most better retailers do not even have those brand-new and sealed anymore.
 
Does anyone know if this is also avaliable online? There isn't a single Ultimate for a good 500 miles...

Yeah...I went to the one in Austin and there wasn't much. I did get Mark of Kri and Shinobi for $30. They had 1 copy of FFX2, about 5 PoP, and 2 SC2, and that was about it.
