Try this website. It's pretty cool. Those Sphynx cats are pretty hard to find, it seems.

If you can find one thats close enough at the animal shelter, take it. Remember, if you don't adopt it, it will most likely be dead within the week.

yea my cousin was stupid. our local neighborhood cat had kittens. WEll she goes i take them down to the pound so they could be put up to be adopted. I was like dont do it but she did it anyways. They only held them 3 days (since they were strays) and put all of them to sleep on the 4th day the mother cat and 7 kittnens) she was like i thought they would put them up to be adpoted and i was like they get like 100 cats per day i told you they would kill them all. one of the kittens is still running around the neighborhood (couldnt catch the last one)

they should allow people to bring in stray cats get them fixxed so they cant have kittens either for free or cheap and give them back. they wouldnt have the problem with cats as they do now if they allow this... I had a friend that worked at the pound a few years back and they said you wont belive what goes on in there. They destory around 100-200 animals a week and they just toss the dead bodies in a box till they burn them up ONe day they had like 60 dead cats waiting to the end of the day to burn them all up.

It's so sad how stupid people are. Seriously take responsibility for your pets! People dump them or dump them at the animal control center. It's so sad. Adopt a pet from animal control or your humane society!

I got my dog from the humane society and my cat was a stray that my wife took in.

I refuse to buy animals from breeders... The people who buy these animals cause all the problems. We do not need more dogs and cats and those pets are not fixed typically.

well i can see her point. When you got around 12-15 cats running around pooping everyplace it can cause major health problems. I know last summer i went over there for 4th of july weekend and the entire neighboor hood smelled like poop. she had to clean her flowerbed out every 2-3 days due to the pills of cat poop everyplace. not to mention the tons of dead birds, rabbits, mice, rats ect they would bring up to the house every so often. (the place smelled cause around 3 houses down went on vac. and they had to have at least 20 piles of cat dump on their garden... It was worse around 5 years back they had at least 40 cats just running the neighborhood till the animal control came and started to pick them up. last summer they had i say 12-15 but so far this year i only seen around 2 to 3 so they must did another round up over the winter

I don't see why the shelter put them to sleep after 4 days!?! Especially the kittens. People will adopt the kittens given enough time. I don't think it usually takes very long. Older cats are a different story though. Depending on the location of the shelter, they may get a ton in and people generally don't adopt older cats as readily as kittens.

give you a basic number. Our local pound takes in between 25 to 40 cats per day (this is what the worker told them when they asked why they put them all to sleep) they said they are very lucky to get 1-3 cats a day out the door and sometimes they only see 1 cat a week get picked .. right now they have like 40 kittens and 19 older cats.

i can see going there for dogs (95 bucks) i got both my dogs there little tiny dogs. BUT 65 bucks per cat is insane. I mean who is going to pay 65 bucks for a kitten when you get can them off the street for free

until people are penalized for not fixing their animals and/or getting your pets spayed/neutered becomes a very cheap/free process, people will continue to let shit like this happen.. it's sad how little we care about our pets..

We have 11+ cats and 1 dog. We adopted some of the cats and the others were strays. The dog we got as a puppy for free from a neighbor. It cost a bundle, but we've had every one that we could catch fixed. (A couple of the wild males are fairly uncatchable).

You can buy a certificate from them that certain vets will take. (I've never had problems finding multiples), prices are very decent...

Female cat - $55
Male cat - $40
Female cat - $75
Male dog - $54.

Thankfully, there are some terrific no-kill shelters where I live. Local stores provide them with all the food and supplies, and locals give them lots of time and money donations. Unfortunately, they sometimes have to turn away animals due to health regulations, though. But it's great that they can help most of the animals.
most people toss out animals they dont want here anymore since they passed a law that you can only own 5 animals in a household.
What??? 5 animals in a house hold? What kind of local odd law is that? What consitutes an animal? Can I only have 5 fish as pets?

Maybe they will pass a law that says you can only have 5 children as well? :)

I believe my sister is a member.. we did get help on a few of the cats and they helped in the adoption of some strays. They also have contacts with a local dog/cat food plant that call us to come get free food sometimes. That helps the most considering what it costs to feed them all. :)

That's not such an unusual law.. many cities have limits on pets, although it isn't widely enforced since they have to actually know you have more pets than allowed. It is probably mostly used "after the fact" when someone gets busted for their dogs attacking someone, or when an angry neighbor reports them.

There are a lot of reasons for having laws like this. Imagine living next door to some guy with 20 hounds that howl all night. Or living next to the cat lady with 200 cats in her house that you can smell from a mile away. Sadly, there are too many irresponsible pet owners or well meaning people who get in over their heads..

I would guess most of the laws don't cover fish except in some extreme circumstances like ones detrimental to the environment, endangered, etc. ;)
