The title comes from the ad song, "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack, and Uwe Boll is obviously the director of this and House of the Dead. Anyone else excited for this shit??? HOTD was hilariously bad and should have gotten a Golden Globe nomination for Best Comedy/Musical Film. Unfortunately I can't see it Friday when it comes out because the school scheduled the Winter Ball for that date (and the movie theater's showing times are either too early or too late to fit into my schedule) so I will have to settle for Saturday. Hopefully it lives up to the "standards" set by House of the Dead for shitty videogame movies.

Uh, that's from a month ago and specifically talks about the trailer. I think a movie of this caliber deserves its own official release thread.

And about being Alone in the Theater, there was like 8 people at 3:00 PM the first day House of the Dead released. But AITD is lesser known than HOTD (HOTD is a big arcade title in places like Dave and Buster's and other entertainment places) so that may ring true anyway.

ALPHA2: Look at the poster as well. Complete ripoff.

I swear if someone says "GAME OVER, MAN!" I will track this asswad down and jam a controller through the back of his head.
I acnt believe hes even making another movie after HOTD, someone is gonna lose millions again.
Then there's Bloodrayne by him later in the year, and Far Cry and Hunter: The Reckoning movies are in the works. He has also publicly stated multiple times that he wants the Hitman license.

It's about the movie, I posted it since the release date was coming up and there was no news about it at all. The link to the trailer was there for those that hadn't seen it and wanted to see how the movie was looking.

It's not enough that this cock gobbler is still doing movies but he seems intend on ONLY doing video game movies which he shouldnt be doing because HE'S NEVER PLAYED A DAMN ONE OF THEM IN HIS LIFE.

# Far Cry (2006) (announced)
# Hunter: The Reckoning (2006) (pre-production)
# Bloodrayne (2005) (post-production)
Ill go see it, reminds me of the alien films which i am a huge fan of.
That's what I thought the first time I saw the trailer and was shaking my head and was like "I don't remember it being like Aliens".
Cant wait for the Katamari Damacy movie!
Directed by Tim Burton, starring Johnny Depp as the lovable prince, and Jack Nicholson as the bad-ass king.

You better hurry and see this as soon as possible since it will probably be yanked from theaters by Monday. Any movie released in the second half of January is pretty much guaranteed suckage.

This movie is a disgrace to the alone in the dark games. Anyone here actually old enough to remember playing alone in the dark 1 on pc? Survival horror before the genre even existed, and some damn good gameplay. I don't see how this movie can even be in the same context as those games (the trilogy).

haha I did. Thats Ooooold school.

I hope he splices in scenes from the playstation game or even better, the GBC version. Why producers still give this guy money is beyond me

It's because he bought up a bunch of them at once, so it's not like he got them after his first vg movie.
I truly believe it's not possible to make a good videogame movie....
We'll theres a really big difference between the resident evil movies and anything Uwe Boll directs. He doesnt seem to like plots, he just likes killing off characters

Probably. Hard to believe they're even releasing it in my local theater.

Hopefully there are splices from the DC version of AITD 4, and the upcoming Bloodrayne movie will have splices from the secret DC version that was to be released but no one ever heard about.

ZING!

But yeah, this movie is going to suck ass. Good thing I work at a movie theater, and I can see it for free. And I'm not sure I will even do that.

He's doing Bloodrayne too? Yikes!

Well, movies that are based on video games, do turn out to be bad. They never follow the same story or characters from the actual games...

More Like: Directed by Uwe Boll starring David Schwimmer as the prince who just can't seem to get a break in his race to get a giant ball around the world in time to stop an alien invasion. And because of budget and story constraints there will be no king of the cosmos. Instead there will be a love interest played by Gwyneth Paltrow who must aid the prince in his quest. Because studies show that dark brooding characters sell better than colorful happy characters the prince will now become the dark prince burdened by the heavy ball he must push to save the world from the wretched aliens.

You know you'd watch it!

Actually (and I hate to say it, especially around here) I couldn't stand Katamari. I got bored after about 5 minutes during the demo I got in the mail from NAMCO.
Anyone here actually old enough to remember playing alone in the dark 1 on pc?
Actually, I played the original Alone in the Dark on a Panasonic 3DO, and I played One-Eyed Jack's Revenge on PSone. You don't have to be all that old to have played them. (Heck, you don't even need a PC.)

"Boll spoke openly about the production of BloodRayne, his hopes for studios to start taking videogame projects more seriously and his future projects, all based on videogames, which include Far Cry, Hunter's Reckoning, Fear Effect and the aforementioned Hitman."

This guy is single handedly destorying any future chance of games being made into movies. I dont who I hate more, him or the guy that came up with the final fantasy the movie script

My point is this. Where did an alien come into play in any of the 3 games?

Well I woundlt add to many oooo's there.

PC games go back way further than that..

Anyway

maybe thats his intentions. A game you interact with. Now recreating an exact duplcate of say Resident Evil 4 or something would be cool to go back and watch but I dont want to watch a good video game sidestory I would rather play it.

You could have said that about Activision and the movie->video game business a few years ago. Now we have LOTR games, Spiderman 2, and great Bond games (IE Nightfire, not the new Goldeneye:RA).

I'm sure this will change when the time is right (maybe in time for a Xenosaga movie  )

Well, he writes well at least.

A MESSAGE FROM UWE BOLL, DIRECTOR AND PRODUCER OF HOUSE OF THE DEAD

"HOUSE Of THE DEAD was in a lot of territories a very big success. In Middle East, Russia, Spain, Thailand and South America was the movie similar to the USA and KANADA two weeks in the TOP TEN and a long time in the Video/DVD-Charts. In a lot of countries the release is coming up in summer. But in the internet are a lot of negative voices talking about the film and I wanna tell all this people that they are right and wrong.

If you think that HOD is s*** you are right in a way because it is cheesy but you are wrong in a lot of ways. First of all if you really see the move on screen or DVD you will recognize that the CINEMASCOPE look of the movie and the sound are absolutly A LIST and not one percent less quality as RESIDENT EVIL or UNDERWORLD. Second: What is the game HOUSE OF THE DEAD about ? It is a cheesy action shooter. And dont forget I made a movie out of that game. I did not made a ZOMBIE movie alone - I made a game based movie. So the game is an action shooter game where you kill zombies - and if you really compare my movie to movies like RESIDENT EVIL or UNDERWORLD then I dont know what you was waiting for? In HOD we have a lot of GORE and a lot of action. Much more as in Resident Evil. The big battle in front of the house with the MATRIX and TURN TABLE effects, over 100 blood effects and 11000 cuts in 13 minutes will be film history in a few years because in NO OTHER FILM EVER was a similar scene. Also Rodrigez or Tarantino ever made a scene like this escalating action scene in HOD. I really tried to make out of a teenage horror script a special new form of a videogame based movie. I'm not 100% satisfied with the result but it was the maximum what I could do with the budget and script. And what is really pissing me of is that a lot of real horrorfans (especially on Creature Corner, IMDB, Yahoo) are not able to see a difference and judge unfair. Third: also if the story/dialog is cheesy the story has no big logical problems or mistakes.

Can you show me in HOD logical mistakes like in the remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD? How the **** in DAWN OF THE DEAD is coming the fat woman and the other people from the inside of the truck in the mall? How they are coming later back in the tunnel from the house of the sniper?

I write this because I read all that s*** and I give my commentaries also. I startet filming as a boy and I had NO CONNECTIONS in the film industry, no nice uncle or rich parents taking care of me. I worked myself in the film industry, made movies like GERMAN FRIED MOVIE or RUN AMOK with NO MONEY and released the movies on my own, travelled to the theatres, talking to the exhibits and to the audience. That I make movies is not a result of VITAMIN B is is the result of my work and my dicipline and my talent.
Before you all write more s*** about my movies you should look THE HEART OF AMERICA for example, the movie I did before I made HOUSE OF THE DEAD and you should see ALONE IN THE DARK. After you saw this movies you should have the b**** to say "Sorry about my comments!". The weak part of HOD was the story - not the directing. In August ALONE IN THE DARK is finished and this movie is way above movies like UNDERWORLD or RESIDENT EVIL. And for BLOODRAYNE what we do this summer - we have a great script from Guin Turner (she co-wrote AMERICAN PSYCHO) and we will deliver a movie way better as VAN HELSING was (much darker and more brutal).

I don't even think he writes well, maybe he does ofr a foreign guy, but that's some horrible grammar to be honest. Not only is this guy a horrible director, he's a horrible movie critic too.

You know I almost cried myself to sleep when the were some early rumors he may have been doing the Silent Hill movie. Thank all that's holy that those were totally false and Christopher Gans got the job instead.

 It stars Tara Reid, sorry, but I can't take a movie with her in it. I'm not a guy so there isn't even much to stare at. I bought the game for the GBC about 2 weeks before I found out the movie was coming out. I haven't played much of it but...this...just seems wrong.

I think that I might be the only person that actually liked the first Resident Evil movie. The sequel was bad, but for "just" a movie, the first one was okay. Maybe I'm not that picky because I've never taken the time to really play one of the games :?

Now, the Final Fantasy movie, that's another story. Alright but, blah.

Don't worry I am a guy and I can't stand Tara Reid much either. The only movie I liked with her in it was The Big Lebowski. And I too thought the 1st RE movie was decent, for a video game movie at least. Paul Anderson is a really crappy director too but compared to Uwe Boll he looks like Spielberg. Then again I thought Daredevil was okay too, so maybe I'm a little nuts.

I posted Uwe Boll's letter because his writing abilities are terrible. What genius buisnessman entrusts millions of dollars to a movie-making hack who can't adequately express himself in writing.

The same with the rotten tomatoes review - why did one reviewer have to rate it positively, this now gives Uwe ammunition to say that at least it was better then Gigli.

I do find Tara Reid hot though. She may lose points for the bad boob job, but she earns them back for being a sexy drunk who-hah.
Paul Anderson is a really crappy director too but compared to Uwe Boll he looks like Spielberg.
What really irritates me about Paul W.S. Anderson is that he takes good/popular games like RE and movies like Alien/Predator and turns them into absolute crap. How in the world could anyone go wrong with one of these licenses, with so much material to work from? Paul W.S. Anderson somehow found a way to make them bad.

Uwe Boll at least takes license nobody cares about anymore. The Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead series haven't been popular for a number of years, so the volume of disappointed fans isn't nearly so great.
