coltyhuxx pretty much summed up my own take on it. A few things:
- never focus on one woman until you're officially a couple (by that, I mean bf/gf not 'just dating'). The reasoning behind this is to efficient make use of your single life. It's not cheating at this point as you have made no pronouncement of your dedication to one another so there's no commitment. In short, you owe her nothing. Another reason for this is that it makes you look busy (and you should be). It says to her that you're a man of the world and don't have time for games. You're looking for someone who's mature enough to skip the BS and get down to business. If she wants to pull any mind games, play them right back.
- if you've been calling frequently enough to show interest but not yet a stalker, stop calling completely. While this is going on, date someone else. It does 2 things:
A) It makes her wonder why you stopped calling and the curiousity will kill her.
B) You will be having fun with another girl and your mind won't be obsessed over this girl who may or may not even be worth your time.
Right now, I'd say she's got you more than you've got her. There's inequity in the power balance. The strategies outlined above will ensure the balance swings back your way. As for length of time for the first phone call, 3 days is the max as it's enough time for both parties to 'cool their heads off' and think rationally about whether or not they want to pursue the other. Any shorter and desperation shows. Any later and lack of interest shows.
