Amazon 3rd Party "New" Games? Which of these guys sell REAL new games?

noil

CAGiversary!
I am looking for older games, and some of these sellers sell them in "New" condition. Does anyone have experience with any of these sellers on how trustworthy they are when they describe the product as new?

Here are the companies I frequently see selling products as "New":

- 1BusyMan's Budget Video Games

- NYC Electronics

- Most Wanted

- HitGaming

Can anyone here who has ordered NEW items from them give their experience on their reliability? Were they sealed and still had the seal on the side of the case? Did it look resealed? Nintendo products and PS3 games are hard to tell it's new stock due to not having the sealed label on the casing.

Appreciate any comments on the above resellers.

One way to tell is the shrink wrap. Manufacturers that pack up new games (and this has been my experience as I did work Gamestop for near 5 years) tend to use plastic that 'folds and seals' at the top and bottom (>----------< it tends to look like this at the top and bottom). It looks so clean and proper, just like you'd get with a DVD. The exceptions I have seen were for anything special, like special editions and such (where they have to get a bit more creative with the wrapping for special sized boxes/cases). Otherwise, if a standard game has a real shoddy wrap job, the wrap's seal will be in one place and look crooked, awkward and you can feel the raised outer edge where the sealer was pressed to close it.

Don't have experience with those guys...but if you want games, best to try eBay. Buyer Protection with Paypal is in place, so they guarantee you'll get the item "as described", or you can list a grievance and get your money back. And document everything. Pictures, pictures, pictures. If the item arrives, take pictures of it if you have any reason to suspect something is off.

Two things to keep in mind...

Not all new games are y-Sealed as the above poster mentioned. Many publishers like Capcom  tend to release games, particularly 3DS heatsealed (where the seam is on the side instead of being tucked under at the corners.

Also if you're buying it from a seller that is using amazon to fulfill the order (i.e. Amazon ships it) then it will likely have a sticker on the back over the UPC; IIRC this is how Amazon keeps track of other sellers inventory in their warehouses. Sometimes those stickers peel off easy other times they don't.

If you're are trying to buy for a collection I would go for eBay where sellers are almost always shipping items themselves and will typically use actual product photographs

The reason I don't buy on eBay is because the sellers above sell their "New" games much cheaper than what they go for on eBay (at least the ones I want). That's why I've been trying to get any recommendations from people here in regards to the sellers I mentioned.

It doesn't seem like many people on here have dealt with them at all.

Check their Amazo-ratings. Usually, a seller that handles thousands of transactions has to earn a lot of feedback.

I sell to Hitman gaming for OOP stuff a fair amount.  They will sometimes buy from other people to use for orders but they usually have them shipped to them first and not directly to the buyer.  I have also bought from Hitman gaming fufilled by Amazon and have received y folded games.

HitGaming has also bought games from me that were factory sealed.

I haven't dealt with any of the other 3.

It just depends on the sell, It's annoying and a hassle to return them though,

so just be careful and be sure that you know its a real "New Game"
