amazon activation codes question.

i have some pc games on amazon that come with activation codes for steam.
some of these games came in packs and as i already have them, i have not even revealed their codes on amazon. (still covered with that yellow button)

my question, preferably to an amazon rep, is this:

are such activation codes allocated to my amazon account when they are purchased or only at the time i reveal them via the yellow button?

if they are allocated to my account straight after purchase, great, i will keep them covered until i actually want to use them. if they are not allocated at purchase, and they get pulled from an amazon key server when the user reveals them for the first time, then i will want to expose them all so i have them. i'm afraid some such games, may run out of keys over time, and then i won't have them. sure, i'd get a refund but that's not what i'd want.

you may want to suggest that i just reveal each key when i buy them, but i'd rather not, unless i have to. it makes managing them much easier, as i have many games there already.
