[Amazon] Alpha Protocol $8.82 Xbox 360 Prime Eligible

Just bought it myself, never played before. Seems to have something of a cult following, the people who like it REALLY like it but it didn't sell well. Don't think it'll get much cheaper.

I think it was $5-$7 at BBY when they had the DOTD going on. That's when I bought my X360 copy. I still haven't played it though. This game has a moderately high cult following but as snakeinthegrass said, it didn't sell too well.
Is it a good game? :bouncy:
No, I bought this for $8 on Black Friday through Best Buy. I played it about a month ago. It's loaded with bugs and the gameplay is terrible. I couldn't stand it. I knew it was supposed to have problems but holy hell, it's fucking terrible. I sold it on eBay after my second game session with it.

To expand a bit, I'm at the point where if I play a game that's absolutely terrible, I just dump it. I see no reason to force myself to play through a game just because I bought it. I only paid $8 for it and I can get most of that back on eBay anyway. The fact is, I have a backlog of games, many of which are good so I'm not going to force myself to play a shit game. After deciding to sell Alpha Protocol, I went through and played all the lowest rated games in my backlog and if I didn't like them, I sold them. I was able to clear out a good bit of it. I still have enough games in it that I won't run out of stuff to play but it's thinned out so I don't have to waste my time.

I picked this up last year and enjoyed it. The game certainly has it's share of issues, but if you can look past them, there is a good game to be found.

It's a shame the overall product didn't turn out better, because the dialogue/choices found here are so much better than those in similar games like Mass Effect.

In other words, your just bitter that you bought so many crappy games on a whim. We've all been there, our tastes refine and what we enjoyed before sometimes doesn't hold up anymore.

I certainly wasn't bitter. I just decided since I have kids and not a ton of time to play games, I'd rather focus on good stuff. So I purposely went through the backlog trying everything that got low ratings and pulled out the stuff I didn't like. I've also decided to not buy games just because they're cheap anymore.

I have kids too, and a ridiculous backlog but I have fun flipping through the games in my spare time and playing anything from Matt Hazard to Battlefield 3, oddly enough I've completed Matt and barely scratched BF3. I usually ignore reviews on 5.0 - 7.0 games as I really find those subject to each individuals preferences, its the games that hit below that range that I'm really wary of.

Game is 100% endearing. I rented it and then bought and played it through to completion twice for the story elements alone. There are a few character builds that are better than the rest, but this feels like a compete " Mass Effect " style WRPG. It's not top tier, it has bugs and issues, however I say it's worth the entry price.

You can have kids and still have "spare time"? Joking. I agree with you and Blaster Man but I quit buying stuff I might play just cause it's cheap. My backlog is so bad I had to make a Google Doc Spreadsheet so I know what I have while away from home and read about a deal on here. So from now on I only buy what I really want to play and watch a lot of Quicklooks on Giant Bomb.

I really enjoyed the game. Kinda of a cheap cross between James Bond and Splinter Cell. I know a lot of people didn't like it though and I'll admit it had it's flaws. The under $10 price point is good, especially if you have interest in the genre.

Bought it for 13 on a gamefly sale last year I enjoyed it a lot on easy beat it once started a second play through didnt get to far but will.go back someday. Its worth 8 has some good moments good story.

Bought this for $30 near release and loved it. If you can get 5 hours in, the game really opens up and becomes fantastic. Also I highly suggest playing as a stealth character with a pistol as the all-out shooting approach is flawed and not very satisfying.

If you can put some time into it and look past some flaws the game is truly rewarding with innovation and great story/choices.

Screw it... I picked it up. I had a $5 GC, so that canceled out the shipping and handling fees. Got it for $8.80 from Amazon (it says fulfilled by Amazon). I have always enjoyed sega games, so I will give it a go despite the negativity.

I am currently playing Binary Domain (sega) and it is an amazing single player experience so far. Its a totally linear shooter, but it is fun as all hell. Even the cut scenes have great production value to them. The lip movements are a little off from the speech (fairly normal for games), but the facial expressions, character movement, and graphics in general are pretty darn good. It looks amazing on my 42" plasma. The voice commands were a nice touch to add in as well. It adds a little bit to the immersion that you can physically reply to what your AI team mates say or ask. Just be ware if you use a wireless headset like I do, they are a little more sensitive than the wired headset mics so they occasionally pick up background (game) noise and interpret it as a command. It isnt a big deal though and never causes a problem for me.

This game is pretty much Archer Mass Effect elements. Sure, it's not perfect, but I can guarantee anyone that sticks with it will have a good time.
