AMAZON Battlestar Galactica Seas 1 - $28.49 Freeshipping

Thanks for the post. I'm in for one! I was going to get the show on HD-DVD, but seeing as how I bought season 2 when it was 19.99 for each volume, I think I'll save myself around 50 bucks and just go standard def for now.

This also includes the miniseries, so there is no need for a separate purchase.

I would buy this in a second if I didn't already own it.

Thanks, I think I am in for this one. I too was going to snag the HD version, but the price is too good to pass up.

Sweet. I was looking for something to fill out my order for free shipping (I'm also getting It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, they have it for only $20 this week.) I've been looking for a good deal on Galactica lately too.

I already own the first, and best, season.

I'm not buyign the rest because they are way overpriced. I'm just gonig to wait for a complete series box set, yes I have time to wait. :)

Crap! This is messing me up, because I've always wanted to see this show and was planning on renting the HD DVD set from Netflix next month. But I like owning TV seasons. Very torn.

Dammit. I have Season 2 because I got it on sale, and this is damn tempting, but I kind of want to wait for the HD-DVD version.

i never understood why people say some series are overpriced. Look at how much money went into making the special effects of battlestar. What they did is unreal.

Ditto for series like Rome, some shows go all out to create a show, with zillions of dollars to build the realistic set, 1000s of extras, mad expensive props etc.

Some of these shows will put more money into 1 or 2 episodes than a sitcom puts into an entire season.

but i digress. i bit.
BSG is not anywhere close to the level of detail and money that Rome cost, not even close.
it cost 100 million to make s1 of rome. Season 2 was much less because they already built all of the sets, but hell $100 million is a load. That has got to me some sort of record.

I know that the first bsg in the 1970s cost a ridiculous amount for the time, it set the record-remember that inflation would dwarf the number significantly. That is why i mention bsg costing a ton to make. Apparently they "only" spend $25 million per season, which is still a ton, the first season + the miniseries cost a bit more, but nothing that justifies the $150 msrp

I mention bsg mostly becasue the original series set the record for money spent.

Not to mention the tv box sets are alot better bang for your buck as far as numbers of hours of viewing for the money than say a two hour movie.

I really want this in high def but that's a big difference in money.
