So today, Amazon will give UPS your crap and it'll start moving then it's going to stop for the entire weekend.

Then, the drivers come back on Monday to pick up where they left off now (we are at day 1).

Tuesday it is delivered to you.




This is how it works when the weekend comes. I can't believe how childish many of you are acting.

Did you claim a lightning deal? I got this when I tried to claim one. It seems to be an accounting trick: rather than listing the sale price, they list the regular and give you a credit for the discount.

Otherwise, if you do not use, or uncheck the promotional credit, the lighting discount will not apply.

Personally if I was a collector and cared about the box, I would probably look for a deal on the game before it became Platinum (or right when it does, so you can get the regular box for the platinum price).

But GTAIV has been platinum since the start of the October; it really isn't surprising you're getting that box in these current deals. They may have the regular box ones still in stock but I wouldn't bank on those odds.

Though I can find plenty of places with the original cover. The point is, advertise the correct picture and state its platinum/greatest hits. I've returned stuff to Amazon for this very reason, but that's just me. As a consumer I am entitled to getting what I order -- package and all.

I know it sounds stupid, but a game is more than what you play. Its the manual, the content in the case, and the cover and back sometimes have wonderful artwork that the platinum/greatest hits tend to resize and make it harder to enjoy. Yes, I know its crazy, but I enjoy it and find value in most every game to some degree.

As the last 2 Platinum/Greatest Hits games (Crackdown & MGS4) I received from Amazon last month came in normal non-PH/GH packaging. Totally unexpected.

Yeah I got Crackdown off the $10 Newegg deal earlier in the year and it still had the regular box art. It's just if I was really particular about getting regular boxes for a plat hit game, I probably wouldn't order online since it just wouldn't be surprised to end up with the plat hit box.

Amazon should've updated the box art though to avoid the confusion but I imagine a collector probably knows the game went plat.

You absolutely right, I never get upset over it when I get one online, but 90% of the time its original packaging. I try to call and see if the place will exchange, if so cool, if not oh well. I guess true collectors would also have the GH/PH box art too. k

You are joking right? The ugly as red case and lettering is better than the new PH packaging? The old one I agree yes. However the new PH packaging for 360 games actually is not that bad.
