Maybe Amazon's deals will get better on the weekend. If I remember correctly, several of their deals were better on Saturday than Friday last year. So, it's possible. But it seems like their strategy this year is different than last year so who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Only game I've gotten from Amazon so far is Scribblenauts. They had a couple other games that I ended up getting elsewhere, but it was either when I wasn't near a computer or after I had already bought them elsewhere. Did get some good non-gaming stuff though so I'm fairly happy even if there's nothing exciting this weekend.

Hopefully these deals keep coming from Amazon. I was talking to a friend earlier who braved the crowds and he was kinda pissed when he found out Amazon matched most everything he wanted. I tried to tell him.....

I'm half tempted to keep my prime after my trial expires but i'll probably just cancel it even though it's been good to me. I can't justify spending $80 to get things a day earlier than free SSS although not worrying about fillers wound be nice and free release day delivery. All my current orders woulda shipped free anyway besides Scibblenauts and I definitely wouldn't have upgraded to next day unless it was just $7 with prime. I'm a taker and Amazon keeps giving I guess.

I live in Northern KY and everything I order comes from neighboring states or the location up road. I've never waited more than 3 days to get anything from Amazon. This includes my 52" Samsung tv with free white glove delivery.

It's a good drive, but not a very good deal. I don't know what's up with portable externals this BF, because the prices aren't even close to special. I picked up a 1TB Seagate in July for $75 and constantly see 500GB for ~$50 throughout the year.

They way i look at it is:
80 dollars divided by 4 dollar shipping = 20 shipments.
Now Amazon charges you a 4dollar normal shipping without Prime. Amazon and the other private sellers always charge you the same shipping price, again, without Prime.

However with Prime, that 4dollar shipping disappears. Any Amazon product can be used for a 2day shipping and the cost will be 0 dollars. So, to justify your purchase for the Prime membership, you need 20 shipments from Amazon. After 20 shipments, you are now taking full advantage of that membership on any Amazon order. There are also non-Amazon products that get covered with Amazon Prime even though those products are from private sellers.

Keep in mind though, that there are shipments that Amazon Prime does not cover unless it says so. Private sellers are not affiliated with Amazon and they are selling their products through Amazon. Their ship costs are and will always be 4 dollars or 3.99 being the lowest cost.

i have to say, that i indeed been loving amazon. i have recently been purchasing books. For example, Amazon offers new books with prime, and a private seller offers a new book without prime. now both books are the same but i will choose the book from Amazon because of the two day shipping benefit. The book from the private seller will take me a week before it gets here while a book from amazon will take two days.
Of course the Prime doesnt stop me from grabbing the 1 dollar book with 3.99 shipping compared to a 8 or 9 dollar book from amazon.

The one amazon had was a 2.5" one and the prices you mentioned are probably for 3.5" externals, which need to be plugged in to an outlet.

I guess I'll pass on the portable drive then... I was looking into an external hard drive to backup my PS3 hard drive for its eventual upgrade from 40gb to 250gb... Hard drive prices never seem to change when I look at them though.

I felt the very same way. I've read comments on the forum that Halo 3 OSDT isn't worth $60, and therefore is not a good game. If those people didn't jump on this offer, it shocks me. It's almost the equivalent of Uncharted 2 being $30, and I don't mean that from a quality standpoint. I mean Halo is what most people (myself included) identify XBox with. I think we'll be saying the same thing once Uncharted 3 (and it's almost a certainty it'll be made) comes out.
