As much as I tried to like this bd set, I just couldn't get into it. I don't know, I suppose the film just didn't hold up well for me. Filmmaking in Hollywood have certainly changed (as far as pacing, soundtracks, cgi, etc.) and this movie wasn't able to keep my interest. Parts, here and there, but on the whole, it was a chore to get through and I had to put it back for sale on the marketplace. Definitely not a blind buy, in my opinion. But if you're a fan, this set has steadily held a high price, so this is a decent discount on it.

It's my third favorite film of all time, and the most transcendant film I've ever had the blessing to sit through. You make me feel exceedingly proud and lucky that I'm not part of a younger generation.

Well, to each their own. Glad you enjoyed it and that there is a better deal for fans of the film. So, yes, for the younger generation, I definitely wouldn't consider this a blind buy. Even if you're a big fan of aliens and all that. Something about it just didn't sit right with me. Kinda like the original Poltergeist on blu-ray. Classics in their time, but as for now? That's up for debate. Give me Shawshank Redeption any day!
