No, the S-Video cable doesn't support games either. Says so on the Japanese site. Only the component and d-terminal does.

I just went ahead and got the component cables... my TV supports that, but not progressive scan. Better than nothing though.
 
I decided to order the cable through buy.com using GCO, which ends up being $15.02 shipped. You'd think that'd be slow shipping, right? Well, the cable is actually sold through another seller (ANTOnline), and they ship by UPS ground. So I ordered it on 9/26 and my package will arrive on 10/02. I gotta recommend buy.com right now!
