Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.

Supposedly it does-at least that's what someone told me (I had the same question about Super Mario Galaxy 2)
I'm already pre-ordered on Amazon for RDR, does anyone know if they're gonna give me the $20 card even if I pre-ordered before they gave it out? Does that fall under the pre-order price-lock thing?
You should get it. If not, give them a call or e-mail them. Amazon reps have always been helpful with me.

Again, this is for all the people who preordered RDR before the $20 GC from Amazon. No need to cancel and reorder.

Straight from Amazon:

"Greetings from Amazon.com. The $20 Amazon.com Gift Card offer for Red Dead Redemption will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Customers who have already ordered this item will receive the $20 Amazon.com Gift Card. You should receive the Gift Card via e-mail within 10 days of the game's release. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com. Did I solve your problem?"

I have mario galaxy 2 and tigerwoods 11 preordered, can I then use my 40.00 in game credits on another game? Are they stackable or just one per order?
If you have $40 of credit there is no way to seperate it for multiple orders.
No, but I'm not sure why you would want to do that. The total will still be the same.
For the Red Dead Remption....do I get a 20 gift card if I but it in stores?
Amazon has B&M stores?

I doubt you can but a copy of Remption anywhere.
I'm talking about Walmart...Walmart is also giving away a 20 dollar gift card
I believe thats online only.
I'm talking about Walmart...Walmart is also giving away a 20 dollar gift card
Oh, okay. This is the "Amazon Credit and GC Deals" thread, so you probably should have specified your question (or asked in the right thread). To answer your new question, no (AFAIK).

You can buy an instore Walmart GC with the online one. That's what I did, not only that but it only took a couple of days for the GC to get here. If it's like that with the game I won't feel so bad about having to wait.

Heavy Rain shipped on Saturday and got here yesterday, should I worry that I haven't got the $10 credit yet. (I ordered it before the credit was offered, but the credit deal started before my game shipped, so I should be fine, right?)

No, you would have to notify them of it and ask, and they might not do it since its not there anymore. But make sure you tell them that it became avaliable before your item shipped.

Ended up pre-ordering Red Dead Redemption (PS3), the offer was too good to be missed: used two video game credits so the game was $39.99, plus the $20 gift card that I'll get for pre-ordering.

I just hope CheapyD is not accurate about the PS3 version, since I don't have a 360, don't really have another choice

You played the ps3 version of GTAIV right? Could be kinda like that. Technically it was inferior, kindof blurrier, lower res. Framerate was more unstable. But honestly I have the PC and ps3 version of GTAIV and I still like the ps3 version.
Im sure this has been asked before, btu do we get the credit when the game ships?
Thanks
You should be getting the $20 gift card within 10 days after the game shipped, that's what Amazon's page says.

The only thing that is making me wonder is that the actual order that came by email didn't mention the gift card, compared to some other games I bought a couple of days ago that mentioned the $10 gift video game credit.

sorry if this has been asked but I dont want to go through 134 pages and i cant get a solid answer on google....but does amazon charge your credit card when you pre-order the game or after it ships?

It's not mentioned b/c its a gift card not a credit; They're handled a bit different.
This is normal.

I just pre-ordered red dead redemption today, and since I never use amazon I really dont know jack. Where or how exactly do I find this 20 dollar gift card? Or do I have to wait till the product is actually here?

It comes after the game ships. It will most likely be deposited into your account.

Borderlands dropped back to 33.99, after going back up to 36.99 earlier in the week. I was all set to buy but noticed the $10 promo is gone. Booo!

Ah ok. I hope the golden guns extra isn't actually permanently added to my game. I wanna earn those D:

cheapy, maybe you should have CREDIT WILL BE RECEIVED AFTER GAME SHIPS in big red letters in the OP

If it's like the other "gift card" offers in the past... they email you an e-card and you have to add it to your account.

course.. I wish this thread didn't have people asking the "when will I get the credit" and "when do I get billed" on every single page at least once. It'd be different if those questions weren't answered on every page.

You mean the 360 version. The PS3 one is still $36.99, and no video game credit.

Signed up for an amazon.com visa card, my second credit card so far, they gave me $30 in credit to my account instantly, bought red dead redemption for 29.99 plus the $20 gift card and golden guns, awesome deal!

I apologize. To be honest i've never much used online shopping till recently. Plus, a lot of threads are very large, and span a lotta months. I wasn't too sure if they changed policy or what :

I'll just post this here as a heads up since Amazon usually eventually matches, but Walmart added $20 gift cards for Halo Reach Limited and Legendary editions.

lol if Amazon price matches, i got Legendary on order for 60 bucks :p

I decided to give in and purchase Borderlands the other day as it's a great game and came with a $10 credit to be used toward RDR. When I read my e-mail purchase invoice, it informed me of the credit and I got it today. I pre-order RDR and when I read the e-mail purchase invoice, all I can find is a $5 MP3 credit, no mention of the $20 gift card. Should this be cause for concern or am I just reading too much into it?

Not sure if this was posted, but I just found this on Amazon's site. It seems that the PS3 version of UFC: Undisputed 2010 is getting more stuff than the 360 version. This helped me make up my mind on which would be the version to get:

PlayStation 3 Exclusive Content
PlayStation 3 players of UFC Undisputed 2010 enjoy additional exclusive content. This includes 3 exclusive Legends fighters - Royce Gracie, Jens Pulver, Dan Severn; some of the greatest fights in UFC history on Blu-ray; and five exclusive Ultimate Fights for play in Ultimate Fights Mode.

Did it tell you that you are getting the $20 gift card when you placed your pre-order? I just did this as well, and this time it didn't say. On all my other pre-orders it said something like congratulations you will get X gift card. I hope they didn't change something to prevent stacking order to order.

The difference is that its usually not a gift card but just promotional game credit. So thats probably why it didn't show up. If you preordered the game, don't worry, you will get your gift card.

I have a question about abusing the Amazon pre-order system! I am getting my Red Dead from Gamestop for the special edition. I also ordered one from Amazon though for the 20$ gift card. Can I just use or keep the 20$ gift card/credit then return the Red Dead from Amazon?

I was wondering when does the deal for Walmart end? I'm planning to buy from them online since I have a $43 gift card. I'm planning to pre-order it next Friday. Thanks.

I would do it before the game ships.

BTW I was in the same boat, I had a 42 dollar GC for walmart, I preordered Red Dead so then it was like buying a 20 dollar GC to pay the rest off.

WTF! Please don't ruin it for everybody. We don't want to see the end of bonus credits.
WTF! Please don't ruin it for everybody. We don't want to see the end of bonus credits.
For God's sake. One person doing this isn't going to ruin the whole thing. I would rather just get it from them, but Gamestop has the "Special Edition" for the same price.

Just askin' folks!

Already have had RDR preordered for a little while now. I don't know what to do with the $20 I have now, lol... I'm guessing AC II, Ratchet and Clank: ACiT, Zelda TP for Wii, OR towards the preorder of Starcraft II...

If you're asking here, folks would have you put your extra copy to craigslist/ebay/friend. Premeditated defrauding/ripping off a retailer is frown upon here.
