IGN gave the Wii version a middling review, but the PS2 version got a very good review. The PS2 version's MSRP is $15.
Initially, I wanted to pick the PS2 version up, but the more reviews I read, the more I become convinced that it's too simple and easily beaten. Broken, even, since you can find unbeatable strategies.
Will probably pick up the PS2 version if I can find it for under $10. Given the similar pricing and middling reviews of last year's Encounters, that seems like an inevitability.
IGN subcontracted out the ST conquest review, that dude is not a full timer and that score of 8.0 is insanely over rated.
I have the PS2 version, and I had fun with it, but to give the game a 8/10 is absurd. It only last a few hours and the only thing fun about it is the arcade combat, which isn't all that fun.
The main problem w/ the game is it seems like you are playing 1 part of another game, a deeper game, that doesnt exist. Once you figure out how to play the game, it ends. there is ZERO depth.
Star Trek conquest is a very good idea for a game, its just not a full game at all. Its a neat lil diversion. I'd put its value as $5.99 new
