Amazon DotD (12/8) - Lair (PS3) Now $34.99 Was $29.99

sounds like a decent price, but I heard so many bad reviews..I'm sure this game will go to the 19.99 within 3-4 months...I'll wait till than.

I'm with Nolberto. Too many bad reviews to spend $30 on. My wallet's screaming as it is. I need to be a bit more picky when I choose to open it.
Based on the reviews, this game needs to drop another $20 before it's worth picking up...
Honestly, I doubt I'd even pay $10 for it. Lazy game design with tacked-on, totally unnecessary sixaxis controls. It's basically rogue squadron dragon with near unplayable controls. No amount of pretty graphics can make up for that.

You do realize you can turn the SIXAXIS function off? That was really the only thing a lot of reviewers complained about. Otherwise, it's a great game. I own it, and wholefully enjoy it. Well worth the money, imho.

What gives? Just checked and the price got adjusted to $34.99... These DOTDs only last for a little over an hour now, sheesh. Sorry AMZN, I was about to give you some of my money, guess not now.

You didnt take the free shipping option. That is why it jumped up in price. Go back and change your shipping to free delivery.

Click the link. It shows the price of $34.99 on the actual product page now.

thats targets price

same thing happened with the wii edition of tomb raider legend people, it'll most likely be back later in the day from amazon at the $29.99 price (like TR:L for the wii was yesterday)

if not they'll possibly put up something else if their stock of lair sold out completely (doubtful)

Yeah, wow, I'd be surprised if they sold out already at $30, its a very nice price but nothing to make people order 4 at a time >_<

I'll pass anyway since I got a decent taste of the game already and have too many AAA new releases to play >_

yeah I checked right now and it's selling for reg price, i'm assuming as it comes from target.

just waiting on when it comes from amazon for around 30 bucks

Unless they've stealth-released a patch to the game, and only to your copy, this is seriously false.

I rented Lair when I came out a few months ago. Despite the reviews, I really enjoyed it. The controls are not as bad as some of the review sites made them out to be. I think some people were just pissed that they were given no option for control type - you are forced to use the sixaxis controls.

Game is pretty short, and unless you are crazy for medals, there isn't too much reason to go back to it. It was worth the $9 or so I paid to rent it. I think for $30 tho, you can still do better then this game.

I agree. I have it now on a rental and while agree the controls are not near as bad as people are reporting, I do find the graphics disappointing and low textured in many places. Very poor lighting to the point that you actually cannot see a thing, and confusing battles because of the inability to actually find your enemies in all the chaos. I would not pay a penny over $19.99 period. But your best bet, unless you are a collector, is to just rent it, get it out of your system, and move on.

I think this game got the short end of the stick for sure. I just rented it last night. While I can't attest to longevity since I only completed the first few missions, the graphics are phenomenal, the story seems decent enough, and the controls are no problem at all. If you've played Flow, it's pretty similar, just 3D.

On the comment of graphics interfering with the ability to see enemies, they give you the "Rage Vision" option. You just push down on the D-pad and it highlights your objectives in red.

$30 for a PS3 landmark title is a pretty damn good deal.

Wrong. Fail.

I would have liked to see what Factor 5 could have done without being strongarmed into sixaxis control by Sony. I loved their Star Wars games.

You absolutely can NOT turn the sixaxis controls off. The dev has been dead set against adding regular controls, even though that's what EVERYONE wants. I would buy Lair the instant they released a patch with analog stick controls. I actually bought the game from Amazon at release, and returned it before I opened it because it got such terrible reviews.

I'll pick it up when I can get it under 20 bucks.

Poop on Amazon.com for having both their 10 day of Christmas and their DoTD be for the same system.

What is the 10 Days of Christmas deal?

This game's hit or miss. I paid $40 for it and enjoyed it.

Either you get the controls and enjoy the game or you don't and spend the entire time wondering what the fuck is going on.

It's a short game- I beat it in about 3 days of 3-4 hour play.

You can't turn off the sixaxis controls.

However, if you use a non-sixaxis controller, you can use the analog sticks. Works for Toy Home, too.

I got it at release and don't regret it. Once you get past the controls (which aren't even close to being game breaking as some reviews said) there is a great game. Almost every level can be considered epic with the size of the armies and the amount of fighting going on. The story is decent, the soundtrack though is PHENOMENAL. Best soundtrack in a VG or even movie that I've heard in a very, very long time.
lol, i knew this would drop fast, such a poor game.
its DOTD u dumbarse.
