Amazon DOTD: Band fo Brothers DVD, $25.99

with the bluray out, there is no reason to buy or own this. this is by far the best looking bluray, ever. i went back to compare and it made me cringe.

I bought it last year around this time for the same price.

And there is a reason to buy this, blu-ray sucks, and most don't use it.

I'm sure blu-ray looks great (I haven't seen it) but that doesn't make DVD instantly obsolete. It's still a great format. You're probably one of those people that can't play any of the awesome games on older consoles because of outdated graphics.

Why are people even arguing about this?

I currently own the dvd version, the limited Korean military version dvd, the HD-DVD version from Japan, and the Blu-Ray version. I use the blu-ray for my home theater, but the dvd version can be a loaner to friends/family (none who have a blu-ray player) or if I decide that I want to put a version onto a portable player.

Either way, it's a great mini-series.

no i love all my old games with a passion (so much so i have an HTPC with every known rom ever, underneath my tv), but thats not the point... if you ask me if i would rather play street figther on the snes, or street fighter hd on x360... the choice is clear. yes dvd are obsolete, not everyone have switched over yet but that isnt important. we are talking vhs vs dvd here... (actually the difference is more drastic i believe).

saying bluray sucks is like saying cordless phones suck.
