Gold Box Deals

Deal of the Day:
Western Digital Hard Disk Drive 640GB Caviar Blue Internal OEM 7200RPM - $59.99

6:00 AM PDT - 4 GB DDR2 Notebook Memory Kit for $34.99 After Rebate
10:00 AM PDT - OCZ 4 GB DDR2 PC2-8500 Platinum Low Voltage Dual Channel Memory Kit OCZ2P1066LV4GK

2:00 PM PDT - VMware Fusion 2 ($29.99 with Mail-in Rebate)
4:00 PM PDT - Boost your PC's graphics performance without breaking the bank.
7:00 PM PDT - Make sure all your PC upgrades have sufficient power
9:00 PM PDT - Give your laptop a boost in capacity and speed.

These are all Pacific times, so add 1hr for Mountain, +2hr for Central and +3hr for Eastern time zones.

They all seem pretty obvious in what they are, just unsure of speeds, brands, sizes etc. Looks like we have laptop memory, desktop memory, either VMWare Fusion or Parallels for Mac, a graphics card, power supply, and a 2.5" internal laptop hard drive - should work with PS3 if it's SATA.
yes pretty sad, the video card for 169 after GB deal I can buy that card for 109 easily without even trying this is sad GB deal set by people who don't keep on the price of hardware on the market, then they marlk it down from original retail price and claim its a good deal huge joke.
Umm, show me where you can get a GTX 260 for $109 please.

I'm thinking I will jump on the video card. Been looking to upgrade and actually have a bunch of credit at Amazon. This puts it at $10 less than Newegg's price, and no rebate to have to deal with.
Hot damn, GTX 260 for 160.
It looks like the 192 core version. Not exactly a hot deal if so when the 216 cores are $175 or cheaper on average.

Again, check the cores. This is hardly a deal for the 192 core version. Newegg has the 216 core (PNY or BFG Tech) for a few bucks more. I'd say this is lukewarm at best, but nothing to absolutely jump on.

Unfortunately I don't have $160 in credit at Newegg. ;)

Just because you have credit somewhere doesn't mean it's a great deal. ;)

Yeah I know, I never said it was great. I don't expect to have actual cash money to spend on the upgrade anytime soon though, otherwise I would definitely get it elsewhere. I don't remember ever seeing a "great" deal on a video card at Amazon before, this is as good as they've had for a card in this price range. I'm on the fence though, I'm thinking I might just hang onto my 8800GT for a bit longer and wait for the next Geforces and Radeons to come out.

I'd hold off personally. The upgrade there isn't going to be all that worth it for the money. Amazon has deals, but you really have to keep an eye out for them. They are not nearly as often as NE or ZZF are.
Which is the best choice 2.5 inch HDD to replace the currently existing PS3 HDD?

BRAND

Reliability

This drive has gotten a ton of good reviews on newegg from people putting it in a PS3. WD5000BEVT Due to this I bought it last week myself. I went in easy and have had no issues yet. There are a lot of issues reported on the 500GB 5400RPM Seagate drive.

newegg ftw

get the card AND COD:WaW for $170 plus shipping.

Seriously though I have an EVGA 8800gt and it's fine for now. I can even run Crysis on Medium with it so I figured it's good. If anyone is waiting to upgrade just wait til near the end of the year. I'd almost be willing to bet that with new versions and overstock from the year, there's a sale on the horizon. I'd invest in better cooling in the meantime (new case for me :D) instead of getting that card.
That's a very decent deal on the corsair power supply. I have the 620 and I love it.
I have the HX 620 too, definitely a quality line... way better than the OCZ PowerXtreme I had before.

But it's not much of a deal considering Newegg has it for the same price after a $10 rebate... I guess if you don't like the rebate, this is a better deal though (plus, you get FSSS on Amazon).

If any of you run or work at a business that would deal with technology products, you can get Fusion 2.0 and a bunch of other VMWare applications for free if you apply for their reseller program. The program is free, but it's technically meant for those actively promoting VMWare software packages. I'm a part of it and offer it to my clients, but haven't actually sold any packages yet, but still receive it free.

My concern with the one Amazon has for sale is the TX, verses the HX that we have. I've read the HX series to be a little more reliable.
