F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]

I'm sorta sour that seperately, i could of purchased both batman GOTY's to total to 12.49. I know tony is all and powerful, i sorta doubt that he could throw us all the AC DLC for 2.50.

Personally, I think it would be a much better deal if you could throw an Arkham bundle together for $12.50 with both games and all the dlc. I'd buy that, right now. Just hoping ;)
+1 Would love if Amazon matched Steam on this DLCs. :)
I would love it if tony gave us a upgrade bundle to those who purchased the Batman bundle before.

Yeah, I'd love to buy the DLC in a bundle from Amazon. I almost went ahead and bought it directly through Steam today, but I wanted to send it Tony's way for being so kick-ass.
You guys don't have to wait for Tony for a Price Match; each item page on Amazon has a "Let us know of a cheaper price" button. Use that to point to STEAM's store page of the same item.
I've done that for several games and Amazon still haven't matched Steam's prices 24+ hours later.

Maybe they need a certain number of reports before they act?
Maybe they are swamped and by the time they check the Steam deal is over?
Or maybe they just don't take any notice?

Yeah, the price matching thing on the store page isn't very responsive. Granted I'm sure they are flooded and who knows who checks the feedback/matching reports. Hopefully it isn't Tony on his own. Too much work for one guy.

That report button can work. I've seen it work many times in SD threads.

Or maybe they just dont feel the need to price match every single item that is reported? Some things they must just feel ok with letting go without matching.

What are the odds of the Editors Choice games going on decent sales come January? Say, XCOM dropping to $25 during January so that I can use a $5 credit to make it $20?

It's probably wishful thinking, but last year I got Crysis 2 for $5 when it was on sale for $10 and I used a $5 credit, so I figure it can't hurt to ask.

The odds are the odds! All depends if the overlap with the end of the Steam Holiday Sale (first few days of January) hits the games you want thus triggering a price match.

That wouldn't really explain why when I submitted requests via the page for Zeno Clash and Silverfall it got no response for 48 or so hours but when I mentioned them to Tony in this thread it got done within... five minutes.

Not complaining. Just an observation that if people want a price match they are best served to do it in this thread as opposed to those saying just use the website client and wait. Might work for random sales throughout the year but probably not at a time when they are overburdened like Black Friday through December.
So I don't really see how anyone can say Steam is better. They are on par or worse than Amazon to me.
Within Steam I can click on a game and instantly see all the "packs" that it is in, including "complete" and publisher packs, as well as all the DLC, right on one page. Get back to me when Amazon has anything close to that, cause it is endlessly frustrating to find out if a given game has a pack/complete version on amazon without using the search function.
Yeah, we should update the first entry with the 2012 Editor's Choice Games
I wish that Amazon had options to just list the game names in a LIST VIEW like Gamersgate has their sale.

Especially true on MASSIVE sales - which is really why I namely just look in this thead - everything's in LIST MODE here.

I don't really need thumbnails & the picture of the game - I just need to know the title name and price.

To be fair, I think he's referring to things like being able to have links direct to your bundle packs. For instance you have Kingdoms of Amalur Complete, but when you go to the base game there's no link to it. The base game also doesn't link to the DLC from there.

So while Shogun is done well, a lot of other pages leave me to use the search bar and hope to find the game in that listing. In fact, I can't even find the complete edition of KOR even through search for some reason, but it's in me recently viewed products listing.

No I hear you totally and think the whole experience needs work. I don't think the statement that "Amazon doesn't have anything even remotely close to a mechanic for showing different components of a game on the same page" is true though.

Could it use work? Absolutely. Does it exist though? Also absolutely.

Tony

I think I am the only one out here asking about "CoD Black Ops 2".

I want to give Amazon my money =]~

Tony any chance of a sale on the download copy of CoD BLOPS2 ?

Best respond I could of ever imagined coming out of you for that question hahaha

This is a PC Download thread, Tony doesn't do physical games. And that deal at Tiger, you reported in your initial post that it was a rebate deal; which most retailers do not price match.

Given that COD: Black Ops 2 broke all kinds of records and sells extremely well even at $60 everywhere, regardless of platform...
...do you really think that will go on sale soon?
:whistle2:X

That is true, heck if Amazon offered the same deal on the physical copy w/ rebate I would order it from Amazon.

That Dealzon deal site has price history, and one retailer had BLOPS2 for $47.99 around its release.

If a much smaller retailer(TigerDirect) can discount a physical copy(which cost more then handling a digital copy) I would assume Amazon could do something. TigerDirects rebate currently discount BLOPS2 to the lowest price point AND gives you free shipping.

Dude, the game literally just sold over $500 million in ONE DAY and broke records.
If there were (minor) sales even before-hand - I wouldn't expect anything now very soon.
It's not gonna budge much from $60 retail price, most places.

Plus, COD is NOT a title that goes on sale often, until the game gets old.
Hell, I ain't even seen Black Ops 1 PC go for $10 anywhere....

It will after XMas, gets to around $40 usually

That is not really news, all the CoD titles sell astronomic numbers, in fact MW3 sold better then BLOPS2.

I am just pondering a question, if a small retailer(TigerDirect) relative to Amazon can sell the game at $39 with free shipping, then Amazon can do something with the physical copy or download copy. Lets not forget TigerDirects offer is a physical copy and will cost them more to offer such a deal. BONUS TigerDirect is also offering 6% cash back for participating credit cards.

It may exist on a few games, but not many. I just checked Batman Arkham City, Civ5, Warlock, and Crusader Kings. No DLC listed. And again, the big thing is no listing of any packs it is in. And I dont necessarily mean the special packs that you create(though that would be awesome), but on the Civ5 page, no mention of the GOTY version unless it happens to be in the "customers who . . ." section down below.

And I realize what people are saying about Amazon being new to the digital gaming thing, but if I start a new car company next year, my first car isn't going to be compared to a Model T, it is going to be compared to what is available now. And these kinds of features have been on Steam for at least 3 years. So yeah, Amazon does pale in many ways to Steam, and could probably drive more sales if their customers saw these packs/dlc easier.

Tigerdirect is infamous for not honoring rebates. Although it has improved in recent years, I am NOT buying anything from them with a rebate. A friend of mine worked there, ohhh the stories.....

You hear that about almost every store/manufacturer that offers rebates. Last year it took 8 months for me to get a rebate for a case fan.
