F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points

3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.
There's nothing super cheap EA at the moment really.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?b...ronic+Arts,n:!11846801,n:979455011&sort=price

Harry Potty and Mass Effect 1 are about $5-ish each. Everything else is $10 or up. They don't have much in the way of EA DLC because EA tends to try to keep that for themselves.

*Edit: And before anyone asks, I tried the free Mac Sims Create a Pet Demo and not it doesn't give you the $5 Christmas voucher.
thanks for the list, but year theres nothing cheap, just want the ea promo for bf3 premium edition
saints row the third should be $7.50 till 1pm eastern tomorrow since thats when the steam deal ends if i undertsand correctly
How many hours are left for it to be 25 for amazon (how many ours until we can apply these coupons) ?

When is the bioshock 1/2 and Spec ops bundle deal going to end? I checked Tony's second post in the thread but didn't find it. I apologize if it was mentioned already, couldn't find it.
thanks for the list, but year theres nothing cheap, just want the ea promo for bf3 premium edition
unfortunately that only starts on the 26th so you cant even use it

Too bad we can't replace EA with any other publisher. I'm sure the stats will end up showing that the EA coupon will end up being unused compared to the others.

...man. absurdly good sale price on Saints Row 3. not enough to steer me away from just getting my season pass for free at this point i think, but man.

my only concern with the THQ stuff is just wondering if sales will continue through the month of January for them.
Do you get a promotional credit for buying WB games?
2K, EA, THQ and Ubisoft
You won't miss anything :).

AGAIN NOTE: I am in the process of getting everyone who purchased titles from these publishers in 2012 these promo codes. It will likely take the balance of 12/24 to do so.

Here are the details. Just tested everything except 2K (which I have to wait until tomorrow to test):

1. 2K will offer $5 coupons, good for PC Digital 2K products on sale at Amazon.com (greater than $9.99) to every customer who purchased a 2K product in 2012. Coupons can be used from 12/26-12/31

a. Recommended pairings (these will activate on Origin):
i. Mass Effect Trilogy - $29.99 ($24.99 after coupon) contains:

We’ll have the Tantalizing THQ Medley ($9.99 or $4.99 w/coupon) and the Darksiders II Franchise ($13.19) on sale again on 12/25 too, either would be a good pairing with this coupon.

Cheers,
Tony

How's the port? did you modded it?
I did mod SR2. Really quick fix with the patches you can find from a quick gogle search. Runs fine for me.
How many hours are left for it to be 25 for amazon (how many ours until we can apply these coupons) ?
the saints row 3 daily deal price is for 19 more hours and the coupon should be good in 9 hours
9 hours would be midnight pst time which amazon goes by
hoping the Amalur bundle comes back for the coupon
Exactly that Dragon's Age, which I have, and Mass Effect are going to be the only reasons I ever deal with Origin. Everything else is Steam keys or no sale.
I did mod SR2. Really quick fix with the patches you can find from a quick gogle search. Runs fine for me.
Thanks, than I'm stuck. I already played SR2 "bad port version" and I already own SR3 "no dlc version".

Since there is nothing else from THQ that I care about, I guess I'll pick up SRTT Full Package for trade bait.

Also, the fellow who said the flash sale lasts to 1pm was citing EST I think for us west coast folk. We're going to have to jump in during the late evening or morning before Church, opening Xmas presents, etc.
Chiming in while my excel eats itself trying to crunch numbers.

Yes, we opted to leave DSII Franchise in place.
Oh, sure...you give out THQ $5 off ccoupons AFTER you ALREADY had me buy Darksiders Franchise Pack at $13.xx recently! :(

Also, we're PMing Steam on the $7.49 SRTT FP, which will stay in place until that deal is over and then move to $12.49.
Will SR:TT Full Package stay in place during a fair amount of tomorrow?
Steam got that listed as on sale $7.49 for another....19 hours or so.

Lastly the program is specifically designed NOT to pass out free games so it is essentially $4.99+ or $5+ (meaning MORE than)

Cheers,
Tony
So, it has to be at least say $5.01 for the $5 coupon to kick in?
Oh, sure...you give out THQ $5 off ccoupons AFTER you ALREADY had me buy Darksiders Franchise Pack at $13.xx recently! :(

NOOOooooooo, not more of this....

Sorry, no personal offense meant. :) There was just a few pages of similar complaints.
So if I stay up til midnight, I can get Saints Row The Third Full Package for 2.50?

Edit: Yup, ok. Now I'm set. Thanks a bunch.
Just remember it is midnight PST (pacific) usually... 3am Florida time.
Just remember it is midnight PST (pacific) usually... 3am Florida time.
What time will the SRTT Franchise Pack deal end tomorrow here in Eastern Standard Time?
Yup, I'm in lazy mode, and I don't feel like doing the math.

18 hours 42 minutes from now = 1pm (I think?)

This thread = What's on sale? What time? Waaaah I'm mad I bought something that's cheaper now! What's on sale again? When does the deal flip again? Are the 2k coupons coming? Are the EA coupons coming? Still pissed I paid more *sad smiley* THQ coupons? When is PST because I have no clue but I *coughcough* have a US address *coughcough* I swear! What's on sale again? Still mad here. I still don't have my coupon emails! Wait, what's on sale?
Too bad we can't replace EA with any other publisher. I'm sure the stats will end up showing that the EA coupon will end up being unused compared to the others.
I'm not sure we're seeing final prices today on anything other than what Tony has specifically posted.

Also, flash/daily/community choice sales may change the equation.

But I agree, based on what we know EA is the weakest of the bunch. I'd sit on it and see what happens on Steam. We might want to check out Origin as well since I don't know if Tony would/could PM?
18 hours 42 minutes from now = 1pm (I think?)
Yeah, I think that's right.

19 hours from now + 6pm = 25.
25 - 12 = 13pm
13 - 12 hours in a meridian = 1pm.

EDIT 2:

Yep, that means on the west coast we only have a window of midnight to 10am, unless Tony is feeling benevolent...

He said at one point that they don't match publisher based stores which makes sense because they kind of have an advantage in that they don't have a middle man to pay.

Not like Origin ever has anything close to a good sale anyway unless it's a price or coupon mishap.

Amazon has pretty much wiped the floor with Steam this sale. At the end I'll have probably only have bought two things from Steam and that's only because Amazon doesn't carry them.

Yup, if you're in the PST - you're 3 hours behind the EST.
10am for you guys in the PST.

Plus you'd have to install Origin.

I think most gamers that want any EA titles (BF3, ME3) are gonna have to install it, anyways - love it, hate it, uncertain, on the fence, or flipping a coin on Origin.

That's right, although Origin is arguably more like Steam since they carry Valve and other pubs.

But you're right, I think Tony specifically said he does not PM Origin during that $19.99 promotion debacle.

TL;DR

^_~ Nope that sums it up. I swear this thread has been in worse shape today than the Steam thread should be during a big sale.

Coming from an apathetic I-own-everything-I-want from this list, I'm somewhat puzzled as to the exact furor of the thread's raging over deals.

I'm sure this has been answered before, but do Ubisoft games bought off of Amazon activate on steam? I was looking at the Assassin's Creed games in particular.
Plus you'd have to install Origin.
I don't mind Origin ever since they fixed the memory hogging. Which is a surprise.

Pretty much only complaint is the cloud saves are not individualized, so a game like Dragon Age:O exceeds the limit and forces me to turn off cloud storage for every game until I start deleting saves.

Plus, I personally prefer Origin's layout of games with size modifiable art. And as we're experiencing with Amazon, competition is a good thing for us CAGers.

Only things that have me worried are that (a) it's EA so eventually it's going to cost me more than I expected (b) that spyware issue -- although EA swears up and down they are not really scanning our systems.

asheskitty...you want this one.

Edit: I'll just C&P it. :)
No. AC2 onwards all require Uplay. Uplay is no longer the always online nightmare it used to be. Now it is one-time verification for most titles. Don't let Uplay stop you from enjoying AC2, ACB, & ACR.
Well if and when Origin has a good deal on something that isn't published by EA we can try at that point to ask for a price match arguing that they are functioning as a middle man digital download retailer for games they didn't publish.

However, I will not hold my breath for a good sale from the Nordstrom of digital download stores.
Plus you'd have to install Origin.
I feel that Origin bashing is old and tired; it's like "No HDMI" on slickdeals. As a client it isn't bad and has one of the largest publishers behind it, unlink say GMG Crapsule.* Unlike steam they actually have customer service.

I want to come around to Origin but taking all day (literally, 24 hours almost) to download a bunch of old Commander and Conquer games yesterday is not helping...

Also, I guess I am out of the slickdeals loop, wth is wrong with HDMI?

No, it's pretty hip and relevant. Coupled with the fact that most EA games are bad.
Do i get a $5 coupon for THQ if the only THQ product i purchased in 2012 was the saints row 3 bloodsucker pack?
Yes. I purchased a $0.32 Darksiders 2 axe and got the code.

Pro tip:
If you get a great deal on a game you start playing the game. You DO NOT complain about others getting it for $5 cheaper.

Tony, please don't allow a few bad apples to ruin what will be a great deal on x-mas for many. I'm saying that as someone who already picked up Darksiders 2 a couple of days ago.

Honestly I don't know. They will require Uplay one way or another.

I have AC2 & ACB direct from steam with the gimped-up version of Uplay. I have ACR from GG with the full-up version of Uplay. Uplay has one really nice feature in that you get Uplay points for in-game achievements and you can spend those points on some select bits of DLC (that you'd otherwise have to buy with $$$).
