F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.

To check out the Free-2-Play games we offer you can visit our storefront here:
Oh no, we couldn't do that. We can't have any interaction with Developers or Publishers. That would debase this noble enterprise called Cheap Ass Gamer.
Lol I see what you did there Sir End of The, noblest knight in all the internets.
yea, i have a few questions for those guys
Sweet, this is going to be fun.
LSL... Wow - that is an old school reference.

Is there a download coming up from them? Those Sierra games of that era were epic! (Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest etc.)
See below.
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded
QFT.

Cheers,
Tony

Yay on the Q&A

Bummer that so far I can't find anything that I want to buy or am getting knocked out 'cause it's bundled with something I own.

Looking forward to January and the rest of the Winter Sale!

Come to think of it, any chance of an end of the world bundle?

I'll start it off with:
 • Bing bang bundle
 • It's game over man bundle
 • The just in case they are right bundle
 • The WTF bundle (and it's already up so that's easy)
 • The finally a bundle that activates on origin and steam
 • The 1C bundle - just cause we had to do it...
looks like gog is having a little fun with their 'end of the world' bundles.

my favorite is the 'santa snapped' one.

on a more semi serious note:

TONY

*please* keep working on bringing some of the old titles. I'd love a city builder series and the sierra quest ones. I want the gog selection but with Tony's special pricing.
Actually, it's largely good news. They seem to be going with a restructuring sort of bankrupcy rather than a shut-everything-down sort of bankrupcy. Without some recent sales income, they may have been forced into the latter instead.

What worries me is that they are selling their assets, all of them, even if they managed to pull the stunt of just switching paycheck signers, nothing guarantees that further along the road they won't start to desperately slice the pie away.

Now, yeah, maybe you are right, indeed THQ really needs a change of management, it's just astounding to see a company sitting on the assets THQ has and going bankrupted.
Most of THQ's problems stem from a disastrous venture into hardware. The uDraw absolutely killed THQ, as it tied up resources that would have allowed the company to weather the commercial disappointments of Homefront and Red Faction: Armageddon.

By going through a structured bankruptcy, THQ will retain the studios and IPs it currently possesses, while eliminating debts it can't afford to repay. (Those of you who bought THQ stock, my sympathies for your upcoming loss.)

The real question will be how the new owners (whether Clearlake or someone else) view the digital-download landscape. But that question won't be settled anytime soon, so the deals already in place for the holiday season shouldn't be affected. *knock on wood*

does "this holiday" include any possible January sales or just the stuff in December? It's basically the question of "so if anyone's waiting for the THQ stuff to pop up in Jan should they assume the gamble isn't a gamble anymore but a guaranteed no"?

random question - anyone here know if either guild wars 2 or diablo 3 will be on sale soon? looking to buy copies for friends, and would like to save a few bucks ya know
On this note I just got off the phone with the Leisure Suit Larry guys...they are really cool, would you guys be interested in interacting with them?

I'm thinking a Q&A or something.

Cheers,
Tony
Q&A with Al Lowe and the gang would be great. As would Amazon carrying these games (with Steam key option, of course ;))!
I'm so glad they didn't. I thought the SR3 zombie missions were truly awful and completely ruined the flow of the game.
I thought it was a missed opportunity. Like it was just a checkbox on their to-do list.

Though I do recall thinking that if if there're going to be aliens, there damn well better be zombies.

Regardless of whether zombies were done well, it is safe to say that some crazy mother f*****s made a great game that had just about everything in it, and it was one hell of a good time!

The what? I've never heard of it. :???:
Here's the Wikipedia link.

Warning: it's not for the faint-hearted.
I did look it up before, and I really can't recall hearing anyone mention it, haven't seen it in a store (online or offline), and certainly don't know anyone who owns one - even my flatmate who owns a collection of Wii peripherals hasn't mentioned it.
any price match for gmg on guild wars 2?
Amazon won't price match non-US stores (eg: GG, GGG, GMG.)

Payment errors with GMG are typically related to your bank blocking payment to them for one reason or another. Personally I haven't had that happen, but my bank isn't American.

So. tell me something guys.. SO lets say THQ totally got Bankrupt. IS that the end of the THQ deals like darksiders franchise starting today ?? we'll never get any deals after that?????
Sorry my English is not that good :(

Tony, in addition to deals that you have planned, does Amazon intend to also price match the deals that steam has during their Holiday sale?

Chapter 11 does not mean that they're looting and burning their offices while employees smuggle out memorbilia underneath their pink slips.

There's going to be more sales, they have time for this type of stuff. They aren't going to give Saint's Row to EA tommorow. Obviously we don't know exactly what is going to happen but people are generally blowing the news story out of proportion right now.
I might be suffering cognitive impairment from the Steam thread, but did Tony drop any hints about Gamespot's Black Fridays?
I remember that the show hosts said that the last Gamespot Black Friday was the last of the year.
I remember that the show hosts said that the last Gamespot Black Friday was the last of the year.
Yep. I don't remember them saying when the show starts back up again either.
Plenty of time for Darksiders 2 to hit $5~
Agreed. like usual

lookin' forward to using all these $5 vouchers

If you guys don't hear from me soon I'm dead. Looks like I'm on Paddington's shit list. I received an Amazon package today full of dog turds and a piece of brownish curly fur.
FYI for those wondering about GW2, yes we'll have it for $39.99 around Christmas.

Cheers,
Tony
And no, that ain't cheap enough for me....yet. :p

What's the word on sales for The Secret World?
Anything planned soon?
Maybe in EC 2012 sale?

Well, hopefully xcom will hit 25.00 again. So bummed I missed it the first time..... I'm betting steam will have it as part of the holiday sale.

Grrr, wanted 33%. Oh well. I'd buy it here, but I'm sure Steam will hit that price and I have credit with them, so blah.

Thanks for the quick reply.
