F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

Cheers,
Tony

I've received a THQ coupon and I've been trying to buy SRTT Full Package but at checkout there's no credit automatically applied. It's still 7.49. Any ideas?
Really glad I didn't get Mirrors Edge for $5 on Steam because now I can get it plus like 5 other games for $2... sweet.
Nope, see above. It's one code per publisher.

Oh I see. Thanks for the answer. If I want another THQ code to use it on Darksiders II do I need to buy another THQ game? If so, which one do you recommend buying?
Argh, crap. WTF.
If that is indeed the case (and you haven't already downloaded/redeemed either one) just contact CS for a refund.

I'm confused...if it's only one promotional credit per publisher per account then why are they sending out multiple credits? I got 6 from EA and 2 from THQ already, and I'm supposed to get 7 from 2K and another THQ one. Why not just send out a single promo credit for each publisher and that's it? Don't get me wrong, I like this promotion and I'm definitely going to buy games with the credits I get. I just don't get the point in sending out multiple publisher credits if you can only use one.
Nope, see above. It's one code per publisher.

I thought the pack was just cheaper actually but I was thinking with the 1 code.
Still a good deal. Never played Bulletstorm either and I could play Burnout Paradise again.

ooh scribblenauts, im so getting that. hitman needs to go for $20 again. forget steam, their sales this sale are SOOOOOOOOO underwhelming this time :/
I'm fairly set on Revelations (Ubi) and SR2 (THQ), not sure what to do about 2K and I'm a little bit peeved that Syndicate's (EA) sale was cut short early.
I thought Syndicate was listed as being on sale until the 23rd.
No there is a pack with Mirrors Edge and 4 other games listed by Tony.
Ah, I see, you meant the equivalent of $2 each, not $2 for the whole thing. Gotcha.

Actually you were right I thought the pack was cheaper. Still good.

Thanks.
Remember that SR2 it's a little unplayable on the pc, the port is really really bad. But the game is quite good.

Tony, what's gonna happen on the 28th with the Civilization series?

That was true when it was released, the unplayability thing, the port is indeed crap, but nowadays there are fixes for 90% of the problems, there is plenty of info in both steam forums and the rest of the interwebs.

Probably because it's an automated process and just triggering based on your purchases. I could be wrong about the one per pub thing but I'm just going off that post by Tony earlier... er... late last night.

Yeah the whole thing is pretty messy.

I wish I could see all my credits on the Amazon site somewhere.

Plus I have all those F2P credits spamming up my mailbox.

Good deals just minor gripes.
I thought Syndicate was listed as being on sale until the 23rd.
I'll admit, I don't always keep up on date adjustments. But I had it copy/pasted to a desktop sticky note as I was considering it, but figured I'd have time to mull it over in January.

then click [Enter your code] and it will show what you have. At least, that's the only one i know of.
Be careful though since none of these publisher credits or Editor's choice credits are showing up. I just purchased something when I had 0.00 and instead of the THQ or Editor's choice credits show up, my credits show 19.94 from a 9.99 and 9.94 promo for 2 free to play games.

Ugh god damn it. I used that to check and it said I had "$112.40" for MP3's and AIV.

So I tried to rent a movie for 3.99$ to see if the credit would apply. But it didn't and I got charged 4$ instead!

Turns out the credit button is at the bottom for some damn reason. I clicked the 1 click buy button. D'oh

D'OH!
(Learn from my mistake. Pay attention! lol)

I got the $5 off email from EA. The three games I'm interested in are:

Battlefield 3
Mass Effect 2
Burnout Paradise (I hear the servers are down and you don't get all the content).

Thing about ME2 is, PC DLC never goes on sale. It'll be $10 for Lair of the Shadow Broker alone.

Any suggestions?

Also, I sure hope Binary Domain goes on sale. I'm having remorse for not getting it at the Steam Flash sale :(

Binary Domain was great, did you played Mass effect 1? if not then do you like FPS or racing games?

I can whole heartedly recommend ME2 (and ME1 and ME3; biased fan). When considering Bioware/ME DLC and sales...don't. It's a fact of life that is what it is, unfortunately.

I recommend just waiting on ME2 or skip. Maybe it's just me, but since there are so many games to play already and gaming is not a "must have to survive thing", I would think you would win a staring contest as to who needs who's money more.

Sorta why I will probably just wait for an Assassin's Creed set not needing uPlay. I would think game developers/publishers are greedy and want to make money so once they break down and decide to offer it on another platform, they will get another group of buyers to pick it up generate more revenue. EA can keep their stuff to Origin, but like that exec said with never doing any deals, we still see deals for EA stuff since once you hit the saturation point for people willing to pay full price, then 50%, then 75%, etc...the property (game) becomes pretty worthless if people without it aren't going to buy it.

Gave this a shot, hope it works - thanks. It's only $5, but I'm trying to buy gifts on a shoestring budget, so every buck counts...
So is the bastion sale on amazon over when the one on steam is in 10 minutes?
12/24-12/26 according to the first post.

Also, know that there was a DRM typo on Amazon. Amazon's Bastion is DRM free according to Tony.

It's listed in the op that it's till 12/26.

The answer lies in your perceived Return of Investment. What is better value for you??

I wouldn't advise to get the SR3 complete collection as a single key. SR3's dlc is truly horrible with some of it being basically paid for cheats, one is even for unlocking the entire city. Research very well about it's DLC before taking a decision.

And unfortunately, I can't guarantee SR2 will work for you, yes there are dozens of fixes to bring it up to speed but the thing remains a poorly done port and nothing can change that fact.

Up to you.

I'll be honest, I didn't LOVE Mass Effect 1, and I played about 2 hours of ME2, and didn't love it. Maybe I should skip it. But I hear such good things, I feel like I'm missing out.

I DO have a ton of games to play right now though.

So then should I use the coupon on Battlefield 3? Trying to find something good and cheap on the list.

If you didn't like it, why consider buying it...? I put in over 300 hours into each game of the series, at least and am still play, but that's just me. BF3 is great, I have over 1000 hours into that on 360, but won't get it on PC as my online friends are 360 only. Single player was OK, but I wouldn't get it for ONLY that.

Hey Tony, I was wondering if Dawn of war II bundle for 9.99 will be online tomorrow? I bought darksiders 2 for $13 so, I'll be one of many, appreciating if this deal is still online tomorrow, that way I can use the coupon on the only game from THQ i don't own.
Was there a 2K coupon? I got a THQ and 3 EAs, so I'd be willing to trade.
Can't trade, they're link to your account. No one, apparently has received the 2K promo as of yet.

the 2K coupons don't go out until tomorrow 12/25 and they won't work until 12/26, according to this comment Tony made on reddit
Is there a min. price requirement to receive the coupon. I bought a bunch of civ 5 dlc. Would like just one for that bioshock pack :D
For the $5 publisher Christmas(ish) discount? There doesn't seem to be. I bought Nexuiz for 99 cents and got one.
