F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.
Tony a quick question that I have asked you over and over again lol.
Tomb Raider franchise sale.

Looks like on the 30th, underworld will be on sale, but what about the other titles, and will there be a bundle then?

If by then and now a steam sale happens on the Tomb Raider franchise I dont want to miss it...But I also want to support your great work.... So any hints?

Thanks for the coupon code deal thats supposed to be working soon. I will be picking up some cheap games for my friends!
Merry Christmas to you!
Sorry about missing this, we don't have anything in the works for a TR sale.

Cheers,
Tony
About Origin customer service.

Used them the first time yesterday with little luck. Was using a birthday code I had to get $10 off a game that was $19.99 or more (with some restrictions in place) and didn't expire till December 31st. The code didn't work (was trying to buy Mass Effect 3 N7 edition ). Contacted CS and they offered me a 15% off coupon but said that they couldn't give me another $10 off coupon because that is another department. I ask how I can contact that dept and they say there is no way too. They didn't know why my code didn't work either and even had me upload a screenshot of the email too.

Really pissed me off as I wanted to get ME3 deluxe at that price since no one else seems to have any good deals on ME3 just the trilogy.
Heck, with Steam you would have gotten no response for 2 weeks and well after the sale expired. Plus, it would be some boilerplate response saying tough luck. No 15% off either.

Of course, with Amazon you would have gotten the person to walk you through the purchase, apply the $10 coupon manually before they ran your credit card, and wait until they could provide you a confirmation number and receipt showing that the transaction went through as promised.

It's all relative -- Amazon>Origin>Steam

Tony,

I need your word of honor that Lego LOTR and Scribblenauts won't become Editor's Choice games and get 75% off sales in January!!

Dammit, I bought Scribblenauts, activated it on Steam, but I keep getting an "unhandled exception" error when trying to start it up, even after verifying cache/re-installing. It's virtually unplayable. What's Amazon refund policy for digital games in a situation like this, or should I take it up with Steam?

I have bought Duke Nukem and Civ 5 Korea DLC this year. However, when i ask Amz CS, they say my purchase is not qualified for this promo so i don't get 2k 5$ credit :(. Very sad indeed, Spec Ops is the only one i want for couple mins.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, Tony. Thank you for doing such a great job at your job. You are the best official rep I have seen anywhere. Thank you.
I've already played through and beaten AC2 and ACB on the 360. I also have AC1 and ACR for the 360, but haven't beaten either of them.
I scrounged through my promo emails for this deal though (all 16 of them, and I haven't gotten any 2K yet) and did find an Ubisoft one. I have no idea what in the world I bought that was Ubisoft, but I'm not gonna complain.

Part of me wants ACB because I loved it so much + it's the deluxe version, while the other part of me wants ACR more because I haven't played much of it. I also kinda do want the Gold Edition (the Vlad sword is awesome, and the character pack is something I do want), and I feel like it will be cheaper than $9 after the coupon. But $2.49 is a hard to pass up price for a relatively new game, and one that doesn't hit very many good sales... I must say that the scenery of Constantinople, and the history of the locale really does grab me more than Italy did. I'm a history buff, and I love the lore of the games based in Italy and Rome, but they did grow stale. Constantinople is absolutely breathtaking, even on the 360.

And the $2.50 DLC I was looking at was the character pack, not any mission type thing.
^_^ That makes much more sense. I was afraid of someone jumping into AssCred at ACR. Having played AC2 & ACB, I'd say pickup AC:R. It wraps up Ezio's story. The expanded bomb combinations are interesting, however there are no pony rides.
Are we back to bitching about Darksiders II?

Because in 5 hours I would like to buy it for $8.

kthxbai
Pfft, you gotta be a wheeler dealer like me. Since I had no interest in the Darksiders 2 DLC (pretty mediocre from what I hear), I 'pre-sold' it to a fellow CAG'er for $5 Amazon bucks... $3.50 base Darksiders 2!
This was asked about the Darksider's Franchise Bundle as well, and his response was:

"Any additions to the the January list are dependent on performance during December :)."

Yep yep. On the one hand those are great deals. On the other I wasn't necessarily targeting those games so I wouldn't be broken up if they didn't hit that price point again anytime soon. And I have a bajillion other games to play.

Good god man.. Nothing like a 5 dollar coupon to make this thread move like lightning. Here's to hoping that that nfs pack comes back tomorrow. I'd love to snag that for 2.50 just for the 2 shift games.

I still have no email about THQ credit, and I bought Nexuiz last night. Before this promo was announced, actually. I also got two for Ubisoft.

Do I need to contact anyone? I'd like to hop on the SR3 deal in the morning.

Sure, why not? ;)

Getting "price-trolled" like this by Amazon DVG w/ Darksiders Franchise Pack for $13.19 so quickly (that'll be 5 days ago since my order of it, when tomorrow hits); then getting a $5 coupon to use on any THQ games to use tomorrow only (to drop it down to $8.19 for tomorrow only + you'll get a $5 EC 2012 coupon)...

...is almost up there w/ this Summer for SR:TT (base game) for $10 from Amazon DVG; and then only a few days later SR:TT Franchise Pack was $13.29 on Steam to end the Steam Summer Sale.

At least w/ SR:TT Full Package on sale for $7.49 on Steam this week, it's been a few months since SR:TT Franchise Pack went on sale like that!

This all probably wouldn't be so bad, if I could actually find 3 THQ games to use these coupons on!
I guess I buy too many damn games!

Regardless, this is how the digital-cookie(s) seem to crumble, these days and age...
[/rant]
Amazon does not PM flash sales.
It's not a flash sale. It's one of their daily deals and will last for ~39 more hours.

Hey guys I was wondering about the coupons for tomorrow, even if you have several you can only use one per publisher right?

You can only use the credit once per publisher...

Yeah, I just noticed been digging back in the thread some pages and that!

Sorry if this question was asked already. How can we know if the credit that we got from buying any THQ/EA is being applied on the game we're buying instead of the gift card that we have?

Already got screwed by buying THQ games such as Dawn of War II before the huge discounts. Will probably wait until Darksiders II is between 1-5 dollars.

I asked this earlier today and didn't see an answer. Didn't want to seem too impatient by spamming it.

Any chance the Secret World is going back on sale before the end of the year?

No because I think we're going to add it to Editor's Choice, any pricing action before January will be Price Matches. Not 100% sure we're adding it to Editor's Choice, but I'd rather be safe than sorry :).

So...maybe?

Cheers,
Tony

TSW possibly as an Editor's Choice?
Oh, this'll be interesting! :D

{grabs drink}

Here's to hoping it's somewhere around GreenMan's recent $5.xx deal for TSW :p

I would too!! It's one of the last THQ games I don't have/actually want.

Same here, still waiting for THQ credit..

Didn't anyone tell you or give you the memo...?
It's titled "I have no friends."

Wow the threads really moving fast ... Just have two questions I'm sure have been answered alot so sorry in advance :/

1. For the coupons for tomorrow, if I buy a thq game before today is over will I get a coupon that's useable for tomorrow?

2. How do I find these coupons ? I think I may have purchased a game or two in the past from amazon.
