These ping my email address and make it more likely that I will see your question and respond more quickly.

F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

I see what you did there, pretty clever!!!

Bethesda digital products. We have them not.

Cheers,
Tony

That was sarcasm, some pretty nasty stuff, unintended or not, is going on right now the GG camp.

A word of warning to anyone buying MLB 2K12. The game is broken upon launch. Since the season is over the game can not find living rosters online and will hang on the start screen. This is with living rosters on or off.

The only work around is to set your PC Windows date back to July, Sept 30 2012 to get the game to load. 2K will not be patching this on the PC as they have abandoned the game.

I was looking forward to buying and playing this game all day. Thanks for the price match anyway Tony.

Indeed. I just got all the games pulled from my shelf, and no hint of a refund (which I didn't ask for) on paypal. Was an unfortunate pricing mistake with equally unfortunate handling. Will be sticking to amazon and steam in the future. Speaking of which, looking forward to some Civ action.

Tony, are you at liberty to say if there are gonna be any sales on the Borderlands 2 Season Pass before the 2K coupon expires, and if not then, then during January? And will it be on the EC list?

I really want it, but I'm torn between waiting for a better deal through you guys or just buying it on GMG for $10.50.

Yeah, I know, there was another price error just a few minutes ago, patrician 4. These guys are either suffering from sabotage or are doing a quick cash grab before calling it quits.

I'm a little confused, the sidebar said F.3.A.R was supposed to be on sale today, yet it's almost 3x the price it was yesterday.

Guess I should have bitten when it was $4.99, bummer.

You can probably do this bundle, but the price point has never been where I need it to get me off the wall to purchase:

1) http://www.amazon.com/Total-War-Shogun-Collection-Download/dp/B00AJNWIDU

I think the above is missing:
Total War: SHOGUN 2 – Otomo Clan Pack DLC
Total War: Shogun 2 - Blood Pack DLC

Plus +
2) http://www.amazon.com/Total-War-Samurai-Collection-Download/dp/B00AJNWHF4

Add in:
3) Total War Battles: SHOGUN
http://www.amazon.com/Total-War-Battles-Shogun-Download/dp/B009EAOGPW/

All for 14.99 and make it an Editor's Choice game in Jan too!

Edlt:
Maybe I should just get this:
http://www.amazon.com/Total-Bundle-Viking-Battles-Download/dp/B00AEV8NWW

But it's missing all the DLCs and I don't really want to bother selling/getting rid of all the other Total War games.
http://www.amazon.com/Total-Bundle-Viking-Battles-Download/dp/B00AEV8NWW

Win win for all.

Edit2:
And this would go straight to my backlog since my machine is too slow so I'd pick up just to eventually play. :)

Wait with me, someday it will get down to 75% again.
Anyone knows until when will NBA 2K12 be discounted?
@MM3N
Keep this in mind:
That $9.99 deal for NBA2K12 has been the price for the entire Steam Winter Sale so far.

My guess - Amazon DVG is flat-out MATCHING them and might keep it at that price until Steam changes the price.

@TONY
Tony, wanna speak up on this, if you can...? ;)

Good point. Thanks for the heads up :)
Yeah, I saw this earlier, but I still don't think I will pick this up even at 75% off due to more than I want/need. $40+ price point is also a bit high where 14.99 will likely sell like hot cakes due to impulse buying.
yeah but that bundle will never happen, 10/15$ is way too little.
We don't have any planned. We talked about out it, but figured we'd just wait until January and dump anything we want to give customers an incremental $5 on into the EC list.

I'm actually working through early January with my Take 2 guy right now.

Cheers,
Tony
Cool, thanks. I think I've pretty much covered everything I wanted from Amazon at the current deal price points so I'll just dig in for January with my ten or so coupons and see what transpires.

Yes, we just missed the Steam version and got the match in place late.

Looked high and low thru the thread but didn't see anything on this so apologies if it's been answered -

Since the 2K bundles are going to last up to 1/5, will they be in the EC list?

Thanks T-Money!

I doubt it, but if they were. NERDGASM.:booty:

Tony,

We'd really like to see a deal on just the premium levels for BF3. $29 is great for the whole package, but enough of us bought the original a year ago and don't need it again.

Looks like you missed my question:

Sorry dude, didn't see this.

We don't have anything planned, if you want the content for $10.50 I'd go with GMG.

Cheers,
Tony
FYI. We are likely going to move 3 products in the Civ sale to less than a 75% discount, these are Civ V Gods and Kings, Civ V, and Civ IV Complete.

We're going to take each of these products to $9.99 so that customers with 2K coupons will be able to get them for $4.99.

This decision was made 38 seconds ago at my boss's desk. Again, before potential flames creep up, I did announce several pages back that customers interested in the Civ products should wait until 12/28.

Cheers,
Tony
Is it too late for me to buy something from 2K to get the $5 credit? I wanted to pick up Civ V and Gods & Kings but if I can't get the credit it will have to wait.
yeah but that bundle will never happen, 10/15$ is way too little.
I actually think it will happen. Steam has the Fall of the Samurai set now for 50% off at 19.99. 75% will push it to 9.99. Fall of the Samurai without DLC has seen 7.49 plenty.

Both at 75% off will be at 22.49 on Amazon which even Steam can handle.

Let Amazon and Tony DVG do their usual butt kicking and voila, 14.99.

The 14.99 is "only" 83% off or so. Title is also older now so I wouldn't be surprised if MSRP drops also.

Green Man Gaming also has coupons all the time to possibly push this to 80-85% already so it'll happen I'm pretty sure.

Good thing I can wait. :)

Yeah, I guess the Mayans were right. The world is ending.

That's an awesome price for the Civ stuff, however one question: Civ 5 vanilla or Civ 5 GOTY? GOTY is the one everyone wants, vanilla... lacks a *lot* of stuff.

I can't wait to see the full list of Editor's Choice games. The list is looking good so far, but most of those newer releases will probably be outside of my price point even after a coupon. I'm really hoping that a bunch of cheaper items get added. :bouncy:

Tony, what will it take to attract more publishers on Amazon? Are these games not selling well enough to have them convinced to do business with you guys?

I have some big decisions to make.

Get the 2K strategy pack, or get Civ IV tomorrow? If Civ IV, Steam version or Amazon download version?

First world problems.

What's up with GamersGate, they've had some weird prices flips all throughout the day. They just had Patrician 4 for dirt cheap..
Not too late to pitch my Max Payne 3 + Spec Ops for $10 bundle idea!:bouncy:
my mind might explode if i try to figure out which is more depressing
Man, ain't that the truth....

Max Payne 3 & Spec Ops: The Line spoilers:
One (Spec Ops: The Line) deals w/ soldier who commits an insanely horrible act and goes through severe PTSD...
....while the other (Max Payne 3) deals w/ an alcoholic addicted to painkillers who continues to keep find way to screw everything great that he had going for him, just like he always does.
Thanks dude. Also, guys, when you post to Slickdeals, since they frown on direct interaction with company reps. Can you please post a link to some way to get in touch with me, either my profile here, or on Reddit? I feel bad when I see people complaining about not getting a coupon yet when I can get them sorted with just an order ID.

Cheers,
Tony
Sorry Tony, just saw this.

I don't know if SD will be chill with always posting a link back to CAG. That referral compensation stuff can get testy between sites and I know that SD already has a policy against us posting private referral links. Last thing I want to see is SD blocking CAG links/references like they do for FW, Ebates, etc.

So how would you like us to put your contact info? We can always reference CAG and hope they come over here if they have an issue (or want to hear about the deal first) or we could post an email address, phone number, twitter, Amazon forum, etc. Let us know and I am sure xanchui, insom., and of course I will make sure that your contact info makes at least the wiki, no problem.

EDIT: I'm telling you, some CAGers are intrigued by my bundle idea (the Depressing Pack FTW!). Tell 2K they are passing on a gold mine there...

I bet you'd sell more copies than a 4-pack Borderlands 2 deal for 11.49! :D

I say let's go for the whole enchilanda here w/ this bundle:

The 2K Gangster Bundle:
Mafia 1 + Mafia 2 + ALL Mafia 2 DLC + GTA3 + GTA: Vice City + GTA: San Andreas + GTAIV: Complete Edition

i just want Spec Ops in the sale.
and L.A. Noire: Complete
and Alan Wake.
and Syndicate.
and Dead island GOTY

actually where's that google doc. don't forget you mentioned you'd see what was asked for in there, Tony! even though it hasn't really been updated in a while. there were a couple games in there from Take Two i think.
That's an awesome price for the Civ stuff, however one question: Civ 5 vanilla or Civ 5 GOTY? GOTY is the one everyone wants, vanilla... lacks a *lot* of stuff.
Tony hinted that the other Civ stuff would be 75% off, which would mean $12.49 for Civ V GOTY by my math. I'd go for that than the $10 base Civ V.

Bethesda might be in the market for a slightly more competent 3rd party reseller for their Steamworks games soon.

Just sayin. ;)

ah... that'd make sense, yeah.
Anyone interested in Civ 5 should definitely go for the GOTY version then if they can get it for $7.50. Only exception is if they're thinking of getting Civ 5 GOTY during the Jan sale and Gods and Kings now in advance. That... could technically make sense. Unless there's possibility of G&K being in the Editor's Choice too. In which case... depends on what Steam sells Civ 5 GOTY for to determine how the PM would go.
