F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points
12 Month PSN+ Subscription
3 Month PSN+ Subscription

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.

It probably wasn't intended to work on pre-orders though. So if there's something that you guys want to pre-order, you should probably do so ASAP.

it was gonna let me use the code for absolution then it changed its mine and i already preordered with just the $5 off, how can i just get a price match for the other 11.25 off? i guess dowload preorders don't let you change payment method. why can't this code just work on xcom? I now absolutely refuse to ever buy xcom from amazon out of principle.

Check your order details and you will see that the promo was not actually applied to your preorder. Just got off the phone with an amazon rep and he told be that it most likely will not work on preorders where the game comes out after the promo code expires (which he told me was October 20th).

My order details clearly shows the $11.25 promo discount. It might be because I applied the code to my account before it got fixed, but I did order literally 5 minutes ago.

Well that sucks for me then. I placed my order a good 20 minutes ago and it did not work, so I just cancelled it.

Tony,

1. i was wondering if you know if the hitman absolution pc download comes with the bartoli pistol dlc. I thought i saw it when i preordered, but now its not on the product page.

2. is there any chance of this 25% off being made available for xcom?

The fact that XCOM has also been excluded from all of the GreenManGaming coupons points to this being a problem with the publisher of XCOM and not with Amazon or GMG. Why punish retailers for something that is likely out of their hands?

because theres no reason for them to keep their customers in the dark if that is the case

They aren't keeping you in the dark. He clearly stated the coupon does not and will not apply to X-Com. Would him confirming it's due to publisher's restrictions change anything?

yes it would. I know he stated it outright, but without an explanation, my assumption is that it doesn't work on xcom because they think they will sell copies without the discount. therefore, I won't buy it without the discount. I don't see what the big deal is.

Within the last minute I was able to pre-order Tomb Raider with the code. It came out to $36.95.

Edit: Anyone have any idea if this will activate on Steam? I didn't see anything about whether or not it would on the product page.

Mostly likely yes it will. It is a Square game and pretty much all their PC games now are Steamworks.

Anyone have a spare THQ code? I would love to preorder South Park.

I thought about donig hitman but its only the standard edition when everyone else is selling the professional for the same price.

BTW, I just went to e-mail CS about the Supreme Commander 1/2 mix up and checked my games list and there was a new key under the game that replaced the old key for the first game. It registers on Steam for Supreme Commander 2 Retail.

Anyone who's considering using the code on MW3... don't. It was just $10 at Toys R Us, and people are still selling those codes here and there for around $15.

Not only that, but Tony has been working on a COD sale. 25% off $30 is NOT a good price.

IT DOES NOT WORK ON HITMAN ABSOLUTION ANYMORE

IT DOES WORK ON:
South Park: The stick of truth
Metro: Last light

both are thq games, maybe that has something to do with it, as far as i can tell they are the only pre orders that work. Last light for 33.74. sweet deal to me.

GO GO GO
Out of curiosity I just tried applying it on Far Cry 3 and it worked. Brought it down to 37.49
that one worries me because its not available on steam. anyone know if it is going to be steam game or what?

Why would Far Cry 3 use Steam?

UbiSoft just recently launched their NEW version of UPlay - which TRIES to be like Steam, Origin, and all of those kind of clients.

didn't know that but i'm not surprised.
eh, has to be better than origin

Got any recent UbiSoft PC games installed?
Namely, anything released by UbiSoft since AC2.

You'll notice when you launch an actual UbiSoft game that uses UbiSoft Game Manager, it actually updates & launches the (improved) UPlay client.
This may sound quiet dumb but what is the DVG store?
Digital Video Game Store

Thinking about the Blands 2 Season Pass. Will that even work?

This 25% off coupon is something GMG does regularly, so nothing is a must buy right now.

30% however....I'd be picking up a few things

BL2 Season Pass works...It's $22.50 after the coupon.

I really want to get it, but I hate knowing that a few months down the line when I actually get around to the DLC, the season pass is like half price.

And a few more months after that you'll be able to buy Borderlands 2 GOTY for $7.50 :D

Something good on sale at a good price + 25% off coupon would be a great for the consumer. :p

Oh I know...it's sad I'm such a CAG as I have enough credit to make it $1.49 off my CC and I can't pull the trigger knowing that I could spend my $21 on something better like treats for my dog or charger for my iPhone

I'm getting a This Code is Invalid still?

edit: looks like it doesn't work for origin preorders? I wish Tony would have let us know that they might kill the coupon for certain games midway through. I was just about to buy MoH:WF. Looks like its not working on origin preoders, black ops 2, hitman now.

aw, it stopped working on pre-orders?
'cause the only game right now i've been interested in listed there is South Park. not sure if there's any particular game there otherwise...
