Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.

Great deals on the Alice and Mirror edge pack. Shame I already have Mirrors Edge , will the titles be available separately on sale?

If anyone wants just Mirrors Edge we can go half half on the pack. PM me if interested. Would be $3.75 each.

Purchased the X-Com collection. Registered perfectly in Steam.

Only that and Divinity so far for me, debating on a few others. Wish Alice registered on Steam, but I don't think that's the case. Stupid EA.

Been waiting for the Xcom complete bundle to show up. I see it is now, so I just bought it. Thanks Tony... I will be reliving the mid 90s playing Xcom: TFTD.

Bought the X-COM collection as soon as I saw it. Still eagerly awaiting what else will be on sale, though from the sounds of it it's mostly stuff I already have. The Mirror's Edge/Alice pack is a must buy for people who don't have it though.
Why is Hitman Contracts not available for download anywhere?
Licensing issues with the soundtrack, I believe.
PhysX, 3D Vision fix, and 360 Controller support.

I haven't played it on pc ... yet, I will be purchasing it as soon as it goes live if it's for steam, but I have it for PS3 & 360. It's hard to explain, but I can definitely say it's not as good as the original but somehow much better. If you're a fan of the original, it'll seem like it's missing something but if you go back and play the original you'll realize it still has quite alot going for it. If you've never played the original you should youtube some gameplay of MR, it's basically a platformer/shooter/brawler.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3c4p-C0EGmM
I'd pick this up on the very cheap only. There's a demo available on OnLive if you can access it. (Based on my experience with the demo) I found that while the story is just as dark and interesting as the first one, but the game is much more of a platformer than anything else (like its predecessor) and it's fairly aggravating.
Licensing issues with the soundtrack, I believe.
Hm. That's interesting--I was wondering about this too; I had a vague recollection of there being a fourth game but not the title. Do you have any more specific information about the licensing issues? I'm wondering what kind of slammin' jams Eidos couldn't re-license.

Hoping for a bargain basement price on Defenders of Ardania when the Paradox titles roll around. Seems like it flopped pretty hard but I'd still be willing to pay $3.75ish to hear Royal Adviser/bad Sean Connery impression again!
There will be more games added, for example we'll have a Need for Speed pack with 4 games for $14.99:

We'll also have Alice and Mirror's Edge in a bundle for $7.49.
I thought that might be the case. I understand pushing high performers to a "featured" area, but that does nothing for the customer looking for specific items or just wanting to browse an organized list. It's simply my opinion and thanks for having a look.

For the record, I do find it very easy to look through your sale casual games because they are organized by genre.

That's an insane deal. Anyone without these two solid games should be all over it.

Hey Tony, any chance of a Mirror's Edge individual deal?
Hey guys,

This was a mistake on my part. I did some math incorrectly in my sales tracker. The Alice/Mirror's Edge pack is going to be $9.99 not $7.49.

My bad guys, too many wheels turning at once :( should have double checked before leaking.

Cheers,
Tony

Looking around the internet, it appears to be the song "Immortal" by the band Clutch.

Hm, was hoping Mirror's Edge would be discounted individually. Wasn't it around $3 last time it was discounted on Amazon? If I split the pack with someone, I guess it ends up costing more than whatever price it was at last time.
Civ IV Complete and Stronghold Collection Steam Versions are now live and priced.

Enjoy :).

Thanks Tony. Just bought the stronghold collection. I already own Civ IV, so I'll obviously pass on that.

Thanks for making steam redeemable versions available. I'd be interested to here (after you guys finish crunching the numbers on this sale) which version sold better on games that have both a steam and non-steam option.

Yep, both Mirror's Edge and Alice will be on sale.

Mirror's Edge will be $5 and Alice will be $7.49 these are both the prices that we had before, Mirror's Edge hasn't been $3 from us before.

BTW that's where the confusion game in, when I copy and pasted from my spreadsheet to the system that runs our promotions I copied the Alice price for the bundle price by accident. Then when I went to update you I checked the promotion tool and saw $7.49, posted here, and a co-worker of mine was like, "Hey dude, we're selling the pack for $9.99 not $7.49".

Again, sorry for the confusion, I'm ready for the internet flogging.

Cheers,
Tony

Yeah same here. I really appreciate Tony going to the extra effort to get the Steam versions on some of these older or non-Steamworks titles. I'm hoping they sell well enough that Amazon will continue to offer more such Steam titles in the future as it is a huge selling point for me.

That's weird. I don't know why I'm remembering it being around $3 in the past. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. Oh well, at least both are discounted seperately!
Licensing issues with the soundtrack, I believe.
Yes.
"Immortal" by Clutch is the song.
License never got renewed for it.

More info here.

Seriously - they should either get the licensed renewed; put another song in its place; or just remove the song.

They got to do something, if they want to sell this game again, if you ask me...

Hey Tony? I think you might have missed my post a few hours ago. I just wanted to know if you had any plans to price-match any of Steam's Ubisoft weekend sale. (I'm especially curious about Shoot Many Robots, one of today's deals.)

$10 is still a great price for the Mirror's Edge/Alice pack; $7.50 seemed unbelievable. Awesome sale so far!

Mirror's Edge lowest sale price was $4.99, however Alice MR was $2.49 with the $5 off promo code in January. Best $2.49 I ever spent in my entire life :D

Both Alice MR and Mirror's Edge are awesome games

Sorry about the delay here man. I did see this and neglected to respond.

We are going to be matching the Ubistuff but the pricing system is taking FOREVER to catch up. Hamsters need more cheese :(.

I just cashed in some Windows Live points for a $5.00 Amazon gift card. That should be enough for at least one free game from my shopping list. I knew those points would come in handy eventually.

Thanks for the awesome deals Tony!

So I apologize that this is a little OT but I have some Discover points that I can't use in Amazon's DD store  and I'm trying to decide on a boxed PC game to use it on.

Any suggestions?

I'm kind of leaning toward getting Black Mirror I used since I have BM II & III via DD.

Hopefully that game runs okay under Windows 7.

If you don't need to make your purchase right away you could purchase a physical Amazon gift card with your points and once you apply that gift card to your account you could then use the amount towards DD games.

"Shop with Points is available to buy millions of products on Amazon.com. Rewards program points cannot be used for all purchases on Amazon.com, and items that currently may not be purchased using Shop with Points include:

Amazon Kindle downloads
Amazon MP3s
Amazon Instant Video titles
AmazonFresh items
Subscribe and Save items
Games and Software downloads

Physical gift cards can be purchased using Shopping with Points. However, gift cards printed at home or sent via e-mail cannot be purchased using Shop with Points."

I've read up on many issues re: Black Mirror and modern systems. A lot of people have problems running it on Vista and 7. One post even stated the reason was that BM has Starforce and it does not run properly on modern systems so their fix was to download the NOCD patch/exe to get around that.

Ugh. That does not sound good. I think that game really needs a re-release but it doesn't look like it's published by Viva Media, unlike the other two, so I'm not sure who owns the rights to it now.

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out. I really want the first Black Mirror game since I have II and III but if it's that much of a pain in the butt maybe I will have to pass, or at least see if it pops up in any dirt cheap bargain bins at Half Price Books or something.

I know, but Discover doesn't let you redeem points for smaller denominations. You need around $50 worth of points to redeem for a physical Amazon gift card and that takes me forever.

Meanwhile I am staring at $10 in points in my Amazon account that can be used for games is is burning a hole in my virtual pocket. ;-)
Argh! I didn't realize a steam version was gonna be made available. Is there a way to "return" my non-steam version for the steam version?
I Sent amazon customer service an email asking if they could "retract" my activation code and give me a steam code and they responded in about 10 minutes:

Hello,

I'm sorry for the trouble you had. Unfortunately we can't provide activation code for the game you purchased. To remedy the situation, I've issued a refund for the game so you can purchase Sid Meiers Civilization IV: The Complete Edition [Online Game Code].

Because of the circumstances, I've made an exception to our return policy and issued a refund in the amount of $7.49. Your refund will be applied to the payment method used for the original purchase and should be completed within the next 2 to 3 business days. Once processed, you'll be able to see the refund request here:

[redacted]

Once the refund has been processed, that product will no longer be available in the Games and Software Library. The product key may also be disabled by the publisher removing access to the product.

Game & Software Downloads are generally not returnable after purchase. We provide this information at the time of purchase and in the Amazon Games & Software Downloads Terms of Use.

Thanks for using Game & Software Downloads. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

:applause: I love amazon.

Yeah, I read a review on Amazon and that is the issue. The game itself runs fine on Windows 7,but Starforce is not Windows 7 compatible. So when you try to run the game it never runs because starforce can't initiate. The NOCD exe gets around that I guess, but a shame people have to resort that for a game they bout.

Oh duh, I see what you both are saying now and I just tried, it does work on the physical gift cards, just not the e-cards but it's still better than saving up until I have $50 worth and redeeming at Discover.

More reason to hope TONY will have Driver: San Fran - Regular and Deluxe Digital Editions for us in the cards for a nice deal, sometime down the line... ;)

oh well I guess I'll wait for it to hit the Steam Ubisoft weekend sale or maybe it will show up during the Mayhem sale
I don't know if Steam's gonna equal or top THIS deal GetGameGo has on both Driver SF Reg and Deluxe Ed's, though...
It would be nice, if Steam did match or top what GetGamesGo has going on...and even better if Tony matches it. :p

Awesome, picked up the Stronghold Collection and X-Com Complete even though i may never play them. Too good of a deal to pass up.

Any chance on a steam version of Arma 2 Combined Ops? Been dying to try Day Z.
I like Steam as well but is there a reason to choose Steam over a non-steam version?
I think it really depends on the situation - depends on the game, the dev's, what Steam version benefits are, amount of DRM on a version, and what version is getting the best support.

Anytime Non-Steam Edition is DRM-FREE, I'd probably rather have DRM-FREE Edition.

If there's multiple layers of DRM on Steam version [Steam version + additional 3rd party DRM], I'd probably rather have the one w/ the least amount of DRM around it [Non-Steam version].

Steam has its benefits - auto-patching [in most instances, this is good]; nice back-up utility for archiving games; screen-shot taking built into Steam; time played tracked; Steam Achievements support [if game supports it]; additional Steam Cloud [if game support it]; see your Steam Friends List; etc etc.

If DRM is nasty on Non-Steam version [i.e. StarForce]; yet Steam version uses only Steam, I'd rather take the Steam version.
I like Steam as well but is there a reason to choose Steam over a non-steam version?
I have a habit of frequently rebuilding my setup, and on multiple machines. It's nice to have all my games in one central hub rather than have to remember to go to GOG, then Amazon, then [insert indie bundle name here that doesn't give steam keys] etc. I especially like that you can just backup the steamapps folder and everything remains installed properly.

Where did you see it wasn't available in North America? I created an account and paid via PayPal fine, downloading the game now.

B/c I buy from so many different plays, when I install games, I usually put them WHERE I Want. I tell it where it goes.
I break it down basically by WHERE I bought them or by if there's a required service involved.
If there's a required service involved [i.e. Steam, Origin, G4WL], that gets priority over where I bought the game.

So, installs for me might look something like this...

Examples:
Origin-required games -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\
Steam-required Games -> Steam's default folder for me
GOG Games -> C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Games\
Amazon DVG -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Amazon DVG Games\
Retail Boxed Games -> C:\Program Files (x86)\Retail Games

Yes, I even back-up elsewhere installer files and patches in a similar fashion, all broken down in the same manner by what service is required [priority] or by where I bought them [secondary].
Best way to do this, if you ask me - otherwise, it gets confusing trying to keep everything organized.

Looks like Minerva's Den, the campaign DLC for Bioshock 2 had a permanent price drop to 5 bucks over at GFWL (only place to get it) . Worth picking up if you bought the games in this sale.

Tony I have some problems with the games I purchase.

Games that isn't registering on steam which it says it would on the front page:
Metro 2033
Square Enix Ultimate Collection
The Stronghold Collection
Hitman Collection

What should I do.
