Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.

Hey Mr. 14 posts,

I realize you think you know what you're talking about, but you really should read the thread. Tony says he is currently working on it, and since 95% of the time he works on something it happens, I feel fairly certain it will happen.

Sincerely,
Is Amazon price matching the Gamefly sale?

Since the site has a co.uk and a .com version, I'm guessing it is filed under international and PM doesn't apply or am I wrong?

You're right. I'm not sure if you can even purchase from gamefly.co.uk if you live in the US, it doesn't seem like you can.

Although his post was decidedly overconfident and condescending, I read it as addressing the hope that the Arma II sale would be for a copy of Arma II that is registerable on Steam, which I also doubt. I have no doubt Tony will get an Arma II sale, though, as he did indeed say he would.

FYI guys, couple of things:

1. Yep, still pushing hard for an ARMA sale, have not yet heard back from the publisher though. As soon as I do you will know.

2. We have (or just had) a bunch of promos on the stuff in the gamefly sale, which is why you didn't see a match on it.

Cheers,
Tony
$20-25ish is my budging price on Amalur, too.
I already have KOA: Reckoning.
I'm hoping the two DLC's Dead Kel and Teeth of Naros hit $5 each, eventually... ;)
I hope Amalur drops lower at some point. It is a pretty good time - I bought it at release.

I've been wanting my friends to give it a go, but I have problems recommending anything to others at $40.

Once it gets to the $20-$25 range, I'll feel more comfortable in pushing them into a purchase.

I'd like to see Risen 2 for $25-ish at some point as well; seeing Risen in the thread title got me excited. Unfortunately, it was just Risen 1. Good game, but it's been on sale for dirt cheap a ton already.
Risen 2 is good, but the control and combat scheme is a bit different from the original....
It is something you'll have to get used to...

As far as download speeds go I am really impressed in how fast they come down. At least on my comcast network. That was one of my earlier concerns especially with the witcher 2 being 16 gigs. This weekend I downloaded Crysis ME and Saints row 3 in no time and the witcher 2 wasn't bad at all.

I also like the download page showing all of your purchases from a download newbie standpoint it really makes your purchased games accessible. Looking forward to more deals.

Only thing I really want [back] more so than anything from Amazon DVG downloader is the ability to pick the path of where my installers get downloaded. I don't want it forced to C drive on my Desktop.

I want it to go where I TELL it to go.

Mr. 14's post was talking about Arma II being available through Steam or not. Tony has said a number of times that that basically isn't going to happen.

EDIT: Yikes, GameFly really kicked Amazon's ass on the Crysis ME deal. Glad I held off.

Slightly off topic but, well, speak of the devil, de.gamesplanet.com has KoA for ~15€ but this maybe an EU only deal, so others sites shouldn't be far off with deals of this magnitude.

Yes he said that in the last sale. This time he has yet to rule anything out. It would be stupid not to have a Steam version to go along with their current version. They are losing customers because they don't have it to activate on Steam.

EA games most times will activate on Origin, not Steam.
I don't think I've ever seen a EA games bought outside of Steam activate up on Steam.

I will check on this.

Apologies if I haven't made this clear but the decision to carry or not carry Steam versions of games is 100% up to the publisher. We request this option for everything, but we don't always get it.

Just clarifying.

Cheers,
Tony

I'm aware of this, but I'm not sure others are. If you haven't realized I'd only buy it if it was activated on Steam (as well as everyone I know). So push push push! :applause:

I see the Dead Island sale is up with Risen now. The DLC isn't on sale though so I guess Deep Silver didn't comply.

Unfortunately the DLC is the only thing I don't own. I'm not even sure if both are worth it, but I did want Ryder White.

ArmA II sold out last time with the non-steam version on sale so I doubt the publisher has that much of an incentive to release a steam version outside of steam or their own website, but anything could happen. The upcoming steam summer sale is probably your best bet for it.

Seems like Dead Island been going on sale for $11.99 at multiple places.. if anyone doesn't have it yet and doesn't mind waiting it's probably better to get it from the Steam summer sale, I'd bet it'd be at least slightly cheaper then (especially if you can get in on a 4-pack).
Hopefully Steam's summer sale will have the DLC on sale. Then If I'm lucky Amazon will price match.
I don't think they ever price match DLC. Honestly I'll say it, Amazon is not the place to get DLC on sale from. They very rarely put any DLC on sale so if that's what someone wants I would seriously suggest looking elsewhere.

Things could change and anything can happen but based on past experience with Amazon on quite a number of sales I would not hold my breath for much in the way of DLC sales.

Yeah. I agree. Greenmangaming is a decent place for steamworks dlc as well.

get battlefield 3 but still expensive ;)

Gamersgate is a good place for DLC too, especially if you purchase a lot from there and make use of your blue coins!

A different kind of devil is selling it (and Syndicate) for something equivalent to $9 until tomorrow within the context of their '1st anniversary sale', but.. that fits here even less.
So yeah, back to topic here.

Believe it or not, Mr. 5 Man Trade Group, the fewer copies they sell with Meridian 4 and Amazon getting a (quite large?) cut, the more money they make with higher priced sales on their own system (presumably with no cut for anyone else) or Steam (with only Valve getting some of the dosh). If you want the clumsy Steam version of this title, you best look out for it during the currently starting summer sale.

(Dead Island DLC was on sale everywhere last month, no?)

Does the Dead Island game come with the DLC? I read about it maybe coming with it in a few posts back but I don't see anything about it on page. Guess it was nixed.

FYI Darkness II (Steam activated) will be $12.49 shortly, hamsters in motion.

Civ V will also be 50% off this weekend. Will update OP when prices flip.

Sidebar: Dead Island does not come with DLC.

Cheers,
Tony

The money they make has nothing to do with whether or not it activates on Steam. It is simply a DRM applied to the game.

And yes, I want it on Steam because I like to keep my games all in one place and not have to worry about how many times I can download it, or whether I will be able to download it again period. Steam doesn't make it clumsy, it is the exact same game. You are probably one of those idiots with a desktop filled with icons for games aren't you?

As for the Summer sale, it starts in 2 weeks. I don't get where you get currently starting from.

My trade group? I made it 3 days ago as a joke. You on the other hand made an account here acting like you know shit about what goes on in this thread.

Amazon and Meridian are losing customers because they don't have it for Steam? Fact. This sale won't do as well as the last one? Fact. Everyone who wants it DRM free probably already bought in the last sale. If there is anyone left who only wants DRM free copies I would be very surprised. If they get a Steamworks copy this sale it will do much better then a DRM free sale because many people wait for Steam, and only get games for Steam. There isn't as big of a DRM free market for this game because of the last sale.

I have this game on Steam, it's clumsy compared to the non-Steam version. Knowledge level A+.

Summer event stuff is already patched into, for example, Killing Floor, and somewhat into Payday.

Just not gonna bother telling you once again that Meridian 4 are publisher for this on Amazon, but not on Steam, so direct Steam sales mean no money to Meridian 4, thus more money to the developers, thus ... nevermind. It's hopeless.

Did Tony forget to say that TDU2 is $8?

The game sold out completely during the last sale and many many people commented on how they wanted to buy it so the market for the DRM free version is definitely not dried up just yet. Especially with the DayZ mod growing so much. I mean, I understand some people will only buy on Steam, but with a game that sold out completely with the last sale there probably is little motivation to put out a Steam version.

ZOMG the Paradox bundle we're running the first week of July is even better than the last one...

We'll have the last one available again too...but the new one is gangbusters.

Cheers,
Tony

So... Is Battlefield 3 going to get to $36.99 soon? All day its been showing $46.64 for me...

Also, when I click on Dead Island from this topic's first post, the link goes to Risen. EDIT - I see you're on this.

Will there be a deal for the Civ V expansion coming up next week? I'll be buying it at Amazon either way but it'll be nice to know beforehand.

Many thanks to you again Tony!

BF3 & Premium is all there is/will be.
I bought a lot of stuff twice, I preordered the Extended Edition (BF3 & B2K & SpecAct skins & DogTag pack & Physical Warfare pack & play4free items) and now by buying Premium paid again for many/most of those things. Such is life.

P.S. Don't forget to buy $10 FIFA, y'all.
