Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.

Would it be a better deal you think to pick up the Franchise Pack for Saints Row 3 on Steam right now at $24.19 and get all of the DLC or wait until Amazon drops the base game and then pick up some DLC separately on Steam?

Hey Tony, this is kinda off topic, but if you know/see whoever handles the mp3 store, high five them for me. Between all the promo codes flying around recently and the $1-3 album sales, I've bought more music in the last 2 weeks than I had in the previous 8 years or so.

Unless you're the kind of person that won't be able to sleep at night if you're missing a piece of DLC, then wait. You want the best possible deals on:

- the base game
- Season Pass DLC (I'd even consider this optional unless you just adore the game)

Cherry pick through the other DLC, but it's mostly unnecessary outfits, vehicle and gun types, and other trivial items.

Having said that. I bought SRTT early on and only have a piece or two of DLC (one thanks to Tony). I'd buy it, but only if it were dirt cheap. Like maybe $10 premium over the price of the main game. Tops.

If you want the entire game + dlc (minus 1 that was recently released), then get the steam 25 dollar pack NOW!
Which DLC is missing in the Steam pack? O:

Just checked through all of the DLC and saw how useless most are. Thanks for the heads up.

I will definitely wait for Amazon then grab a couple pieces of DLC that caught my eye on Steam.

I'll second this :)
I'm definitely waiting for the Amazon sale on SRIII. At either 12.49 or 9.99. Thanks for the heads up Tony!
Given that I expect a crazy haul from probably both Steam's sales and Amazon's sales together - hell, and that ain't including what other digital services might toss our way - I think a CAG like me will need to save every $ that I can... :p

$12.49 or less, I'm in for SR:TT from Amazon DVG.
Now, hopefully it flips on Sunday.... ;)
Or before, would be even better... ;)

SR3's DLC is ALL terrible. The Season Pass DLC has extra story missions but they are uniformly bad. Don't waste your money. Just get the base game.

Shark Gun says hi

Okay I finally made a decision. Gonna roll with (probable) Amazon's better price and then pick up the shark gun + hover bike + spec ops. Money saved! Thanks Tony!

The Shark gun and the squid gun are about the only worthwhile DLC. The Season Pass was a joke, I pity anyone who paid full price.

Buy the base game on Amazon for $10 and just skip all the DLC.

Hmm, I got Warlock from the Amazon pint sized pack but it didn't come with the DLC and I didn't realize that Steam also put the DLC 66% off on the flash deal. Almost missed it but just grabbed it before the flash sale ended. The DLC is so cheap that even if it goes 75% later the difference will only be small change so I'm not worried.

My best pick up for 2012 so far is MLB 2K12. I'm a big baseball fan! BTW Tony, you are doing a great job and your are very much appreciated here!

Getting more and more disappointed with this lack of DLC promotion on Amazon. :\ I've been an Amazon fanboy for awhile, but regardless of how lame the DLC may be, you're basically getting ALL of it for $15 on Steam while it's... what, $20 for the Season Pass on Amazon still?

Oh well, it is what it is. Now I'm just torn between the sales, and they'll probably end up expiring on me in the meantime.

They aren't anything special but I felt it was worth the $6-7 I paid. I wouldn't want to pay more than that. You can easily live without em, but I enjoyed them for the most part.

How much DLC is there besides what the Season Pass comes with? I have no problem waiting around for it to hit $6-7 again, but how much is there that the Season Pass doesn't include?

The Season Pass only includes three items. All three are story-driven and add to the campaign but are unreasonably short.

There are like 13-14 other DLC pieces that range from redundant or silly weapons and vehicles to useless costumes or gang members to come to your aid.

None of it is essential, but the Season Pass should be a good deal if you love the game and pay no more than a few bucks.
I know I'm not in the industry... Wouldn't now be a pretty good time to start promoting the next game in the series and maybe even taking pre-orders on Saints Row 4? It's been announced... Well, strangely announced. A stand-alone expansion for Saints Row 3 was canceled with a message that the content would be incorporated into the next Saints Row game.

So now, with the excellent Saints Row 3 finding it's way into a lot of homes at a good price this week... Really, doesn't that seem like a good time for some screen shots and a trailer for the next one?

Not really directed at you, Tony. You're doing a great job and being mobbed with enough questions already. Get some rest sometime.
Noooo....I was looking forward to that Dominatrix expansion. Oh well, Sniper Elite for me this sale.

And BTW, SR3 is worth it at whatever price Steam or Amazon is at now. You'll spend more time messing around the city than playing the campaign. It's like Just Cause 2 without the grappling hook.

I'd actually argue against this. SR3 doesn't have that much to do outside of missions, and activies/missions were the highlight for me.
Name your best pickup (or set of pickups) from Amazon in 2012 and I'll shoot you a PM with the DLC code :) .

This keeps everyone here on the thread, and shouldn't be a terrible burden (typing out a few words that is :)).

Cheers,
Tony)
Well, for me personally I am glad I found about this thread, because of it I bought some pretty cool stuff from Amazon in 2012, without even thinking in past about buying digital (replacing my physical shipped games now almost 100%).

So for 2012 it was Duke Nukem Complete (I was asking Tony about putting it on sale multiple times ) and as a second choice Darksiders. I know that people are saying that DNF is not good, but for a relaxing-no-brains shooter it was pretty decent.

My best pick up was probably the Sonic 4 bundle. It was a great value. Also, really like the Payday 4-pack value, but that game is not as solid as I would hope with AI, aiming, and difficulty.

Agreed about Payday. It's fun but the ai gets tough even on easy and escort missions. Oh God. The best way to kill a good time is to stop having fun and escort someone. Other than that it's still fun.

If Amazon wanted to take the wind out of the Steam sale, they'd put everything that Steam lists as a "choice" (and that Amazon carries) on their "Customer chooses" on sale for the whole day for the Customer Chooses price.

Suddenly, the choosing is pointless and everyone's going to Amazon instead of checking their steam client. Whoops. "Too bad, Valve. So sad. You have to try harder."

That would rock.

Agreed.

Meh, Max Payne is $29.99 for the Steam sale. I guess I should of bought it when Amazon had it on sale. Any chance of it showing up again for $24.99?

Best pickup for me was the 2 Crusader Kings pack with the base game and DLC especially since I knew there was no Paradox complete pack for the Steam summer sale.

Amazon seems to have the lower prices first out of all the digital sale sites. It's great!
Wasn't NFS The Run supposed to be $10 until tomorrow? I was going to buy it today, but it's back up to full price.
Fixed.

Cheers,
Tony

Can we expect any "better than the current price" price matches from Steam's deals today? Specifically Sonic Generations for me, though I imagine others are curious too.

Ya, little mad at myself for putting off Sonic when it was 7.49 i believe, and the Daily Sale is over 10, meh!! Ill wait for Amazon to put it at 7.49..... That is if youre listening Tony ;)
